Simple Taupe Makeup Tutorial ft Tartelette Palette

- Hey guys,
Today's video is another makeup tutorial, except this time I have some exciting news - I finally got some proper lights, so from now on you should be able to see what I'm doing a bit better than before.
The tutorial itself is a very easy taupe and purple eye look, using the Tartelette Palette by Tarte. Although it's an easy look, it requires a lot of blending, so if you are recreating this look, just take your time with it and you'll be solid.

I got this palette a couple of months ago but honestly, it's been a blending nightmare. U blended really well. What eyelid primer are u using?
schweedie1 Oh I absolutely get it! It's a beautiful palette, but it takes a bit more work. And the shadows vary in consistency - some are more difficult to blend than others. For instance I completely steer clear of the shadow "dreamer", because it's so patchy and impossible to blend out nicely. But thank you for the compliment, it takes a lot of time, but when you put in the effort, it looks great. I always use M.A.C paint pot in the shade Soft Ochre. It's my favourite, because it keeps the shadows on all day and doesn't crease 😉 xx
I have watched at least a dozen vids on this palette and your review is the only review that mirrors my experience with the blending! If it weren't for the lovely colours, I would have returned the palette! And btw, loved your look the best!! Subscribed! :)

I'm using a lot of Zoeva brushes, which are super good quality, but they are not as expensive as Sigma or MAC brushes, so I love them. I am using these brushes in the following order:
EYES
Zoeva 228 Luxe crease to lay down a transition shade and blend colours together
Zoeva 231 Luxe petit crease to deepen up the crease, outer v of the eye and bottom lash line
Zoeva 234 Luxe smokey shader to pack on colour on the lid
Zoeva 235 Contour shader brush to deepen up the outer v
A random small pencil brush to smoke out the lower lash line
A random small smudger brush to deepen up the outer corner of my bottom lash line and smoke it out
A random big fluffy brush to clean up under the brow
A random pencil brush to highlight the inner corners and brow bone
FACE
Real Techniques setting brush to highlight the face (it's my favourite for highlighting :)
A random fluffy slanted brush to contour and bronze the face
A random angled brush for blush

When I blend colours together, they all tend to go into ONE shade, I.e. not giving any shade depth differences.... I juest end up with one solid colour!! I do blend carefully and lightly....so where am I going wrong? Thank you. Teddy UK. Xx
My guess would be that the issue lies in colour placement. Since I don't know what your eye shape is like, I'm just going to give you a general suggestion, but you could try placing lighter transition colours higher up than you do at the moment and darker shades closer to the lash line. Just try placing colours further apart, because by blending you mix them a bit anyway. Also, try to avoid using shades that are too similar in tone to each other, because that can also cause them to blend into a mush. Oh, and lastly you can try using smaller brushes. Sometimes it can happen that using too big of a blending brush you are blending areas that you don't actually mean to and the distinction gets lost.
