There’s a video on UA-cam where a woman at the scene says she saw some in the group our firearms under their shirts before they strolled past everyone. The woman was a little scared. It’s probably why no on shouted at them to stay at the scene. They also found weed in both vehicles.
I understand stupid stuff in cars but the way Rice walked from scene without even checking to see anyone in the other 4 vehicles was hurt was sociopathic behavior. I’m not saying he should lose his entire career but he needs to have the roughly the same sentence that others in that jurisdiction have for the same offenses. He has no prior record but I looked up the statute & he’s definitely in serious trouble. He turns 24 this month so it’s not like he’s a scared juvenile. The Lambo rental company definitely saw him as an adult & so do the Chiefs who guaranteed his contract for $3.5M with another $3M coming as long he just makes the team.

Thing is, for ppl that follow/watch professional sports, buy into all the sponsored products (from team merchandise to Gatorade to Nike, etc.), they're the reason these guys have the money to buy fast cars at a young age to begin with. Where do you think they got the money from? From playing on an NFL team. Where do you think the NFL team got the money to pay them? If nobody watched this kind of stuff these guys would be getting paid the same money as regular people, and/or they wouldn't have a "job" playing sports to begin with. But good luck getting anyone to think "professional athletes" and sports are not worth wasting their time and money on. NFL in particular...it's a 150 *billion* dollar US business--it's actually about the same as the NBA and MLB *combined* .

Rice got in a wreck AROUND RUSH HOUR at a section of a Dallas FREEWAY notorious for wrecks going 100-119 in a 70 MPH with MINOR injuries (bc he didn't slam into a STOPPED vehicle at 120+ MPH).
Horrible comparison. If Rice had done THAT he'd already be cut. The Chiefs drafted a kid who choked his PREGNANT gf & hit her in the stomach & face (his college team let him go but the Chiefs drafted him).

Sounds normal for 75. I see this all the time. My daughter was hit from the rear on the North Dallas tollway. Guys hit her, jumped out and left in another car just like this situation. I tell my kids when you see this in your rear view mirror stay in the same lane and done move until they pass. My daughter jumped in front of the guy and got hit.

It depends on the situation. I got a ticket for 98 in a 40 in Plano (suburb of Dallas) years ago on a motorcycle, no other cars were around it really wasn't as bad as it sounds. The cop let me know he could take me to jail, but he let me ride away with a very expensive ticket. A few years before that, 102 in a 65 on this same highway (central expressway), just further north in Richardson (Easter morning and highway was literally empty), he said "I could get you for reckless, but you weren't being reckless so I'm just giving you a ticket for speeding) another very expensive ticket.
Sorry Mr. lawyer. No one cares about him "making things right". His actions on that freeway and immediately after the crash speak loudly enough. He's a dirtbag. Stop making excuses for bad behavior. Also, message to the media. No one gives a crap that he plays for the Chiefs.
Well, it is important that he is a NFL player in the sense that because of his celebrity status, he needs to be punished so the public knows that no one is above the law. Agree on all other points. That's about how fast Henry Ruggs was going when he hit his victim, and in the same car. Unlike Henry though, Rashee fled the scene. Penalty should reflect this.

Rice disrupted the lives of thousands of people due to the fact that stretch of the highway was shutdown for 6 hours straight. Had Rashee stayed and cooperated with the police this crime scene could have been cleared hours earlier. What a selfish person he is.

An average person would get minimum 5 years likely more just the aggravated assault is 2-20 years. Watch him get an extremely lucky deal and people freak out that he was sentenced harshly or something in the future. He's facing 8 felonies. Even with no priors not sure if he had any probably not just his conduct and 8 felonies and fleeing the scene ect an average person would have had their door kicked in that same day and arrested on the spot. Even for just 1 felony and fleeing the scene.
