A Day With The Famous Ivatt In Cumbria

Hello & Welcome to Harnetty Railways
In this video we have a special reunion with perhaps the famous member of the class in preservation Chris Beet's newly returned to traffic Ivatt 2-6-0 mogul tender engine 46441 during our visit to The Lakeside & Haverthwaite Railway.
This was the 1st time we have seen this loco in operation since the mid 1990's when 46441 was operating on The East Lancashire Railway.
Being the most unique member of the class to carry BR Express Passenger lined maroon livery a livery that non of the class ever carried in their service days apart from BR lined black & BR lined green.
We start at the railway's headquarters at Haverthwaite as we see the ivatt arrive after completing the 1st round trip of the day.
We see him run round his train before we proceed to get 46441 from numerous lineside locations between Haverthwaite & Newby Bridge.
We end this video with our 1st ride behind 46441 for nearly 30 years & our 1st ride on The Lakeside & Haverthwaite since the early 2002.
We finish at Lakeside were passengers can switch onto the ferry for Windermere but we opted to stay at the railway as we see 46441 run round ready for the return run back to Haverthwaite which is were we end this video.
