I was just really getting into skating when Really Sorry came out. My mom who knew nothing about skateboarding bought me the Really sorry DVD for christmas one year and I was stoked. My friends and me watched that video a million times. We would grind out the winter in their tiny ass garage that had no heating and would do tricks off this box they built. We watched this video (amoung others) to get hyped enough to go skate in the brutal cold. I have a lot of great memories from that time. We always loved you Mr. Appleyard. Glad to see you are still killing it.
I did thr exact same thing, would watch sorry, almost round 3, and pj's Ladds a wonderful horrible life before we went skating, and would skate garages and basements during the winter when we were kids
For the youngn’s who may not be too familiar with Apples.. UA-cam some of his older parts, especially the early Flip/Sorry stuff. One of the best styles of all time. Skates the way he talks.. if that makes sense.
I remember when you came to Houston for the zumies couch tour I missed the meet and greets and I just caught you going towards the back and he still signed my beat up Mimi logo deck him and David Gonzales. So awesome of them to do it. Love you Appleyard
Man, Appleyard is such an iconic legend in skateboarding....I got the Black Appleyard "apples dont fall far from the tree" board (the exact one in the video) from Appleyard during lock down he sent it to me signed in the UK. absolute legend.
Watching this makes me wish element would get more creative with their graphics again. They've pretty much always been my favorite decks but the art could use some revitalizing
awesome video, i was big into the flip team when i skated back in the day and appleyard was one of my favs. wish i could of seen a couple the boards of his i rode.
Thanks for the trip down memory lane Mark! Growing up when all of the homies would hit up spots with security or knew the cops would come we all had alias of a pro skater and idk why but every time any cop wanted our info to see if we damaged anything I always told him my name was Mark Appleyard hahahah
I was like 9 years old when I started skating. I pushed mongo for the first two years until I saw the ad for that shirt in Thrasher or Transworld and it bummed me out so I taught myself how to push with the correct foot. I would go to the skatepark and just do laps around the park until it felt right. It eventually worked out so thanks Mark lol
Mark Appleyard was definitely one of my all time fav skaters along with Arto & Chris Cole. Circa was the shit back in the day. Mark's Sorry & Really Sorry Video Parts were always my go-tos for motivation prior to hitting the streets on my board for the day. I truly felt like if I would've continued with it, maybe I could've gotten sponsored or at least on the Flow for a company. Too damn bad I completely destroyed my left ankle boardsliding a handrail, warming up. After they had to surgically repair my ankle with screws and months of rehab, I was just too scared to go through that pain again. My Brain wouldn't allow me to keep the same fearlessness I had prior to my injury. Some people can come back from something like that as if nothing ever happened but unfortunately I couldnt. 16 years later I still enjoy watching the sport evolve and seeing how far the kids have taken it. Also, watching the guys of my day turn into OGs and legends themselves has been awesome. I really miss those days though. Don't take it for granted yall.
every time I see apples, I just think its Ashton kutchers brother. I haven't unseen it from the days of wearing out the sorry and really sorry VHS tapes back in the day. and I cant forget the Cole, Appleyard and Colt Cannon segment "We're the three amigos, the three musketeers!"
I will always remember skating a kicker to fridge, i was like 14 2002, backside nose grind on the baby blue Earth Wind Water Fire deck. Remember being so hyped cause the fridge felt so high at that age.
He was a golden touch skater. Everything he did was so clean.i rember the 360 flip to tailslide.......so smooth. Be had nollie front nose crooked on lock. He was a really good skater.
If I wanna get pumped to skate I still through on his sorry part all the time. Perfect video part.. and I have his second circa shoe in that hemp color. Love those shoes
One time Apples posted some old flip decks for sale on instagram and I shot a message, although with the shipping to Canada and the exchange rate was too much to grab one I wanted it so bad, he at least gave me a personal look at his board collection with some new elements and old flips, it was killer.
I had the smith cover, but I wish it was the gap to back lip. They're both sick, but that gap to back lip was nuts. The way he did it was too gnarly. I felt jealous seeing how gnarly he did it, just thinking I would have done it safer if I even had the balls to step to something like that. Appleyard seems like a real cool dude. Good 00's vibes.
That's crazy... right after he shows the picture the girl drew of him n he pulls out that cover of Transworld , I drew a photo of that cover back on the day. I wonder if I still have that magazine at my dad's
I have a pair of Circa shoes he wore at a demo in Toronto area back in early 2000’s , the Circa rep Mike gave me them when I did a booking for my shop. I think the are size 10.5 black 201’s
I got a “complete” of his pro model for Flip back in 2003-2004ish for Xmas and I literally rode the wheels off that thing. It’s nose and tail were so thin that it would cut you if you landed wrong. Bright green with gold flake with an apple holding a knife in hand, with a set of “Monster” brand trucks that were so heavy I could barely flip the board lmao, and it was only like 7.65 wide OMG things have changed so much
Woa somehow I forgot Mark rode for Circa before Globe.. I even had a pair of his first shoe. But I had like 6 pairs of the Globe Vagrants, those were sick.
I still have my Appleyard circa shoes, and globes. I also have jamie Thomas black circa shoes with the velcro. I wish I had Muskas CM902s :( I miss those style of shoes regardless of how ridiculous it was skating in them compared to the light skate shoes now.
i was waiting for him to pull out my first pro board i ever got, which was like the second element appleyard board he made, with the 'standard' kinda element logo on the nose and then had a red maple leaf in the middle. shame he didnt pull it up ! Mark was sort of like an idol to me when i was younger because he grew up in the city/town like right beside me!
Trujillo, Rowley, Thomas and I noticed now Apple's, has pro shoes that are very fitting, Vulcan or minimal as he says. Lots of boxy shoes through the 90's and as nostalgia now but mostly thin. Huston and Janowski are pretty thin ain't they?
When I was younger, this is how I imagined every pro skater collected shoes and boards but unfortunately a lot them have to sell their unused boards just to get by or simply can’t afford the storage
I had a pair of those tan and brown Circa shoes! Loved those things. Appleyard kicks with a Tom Penny Flip deck. Fuck ya! Early 2000s were rad. Orion trucks and Pig wheels.
Cool dude!! Funny story, a girlfriend of mine was into this guy and had the lifesize cardboard version of him standing in the hallway. We'd be like, oh cool your boyfriend is here again!
I’d love to see a Madars Arpse map of all the paces he’s been. Just through his Red Bull series alone he’s probably been to 20 different countries most US pro skaters have never thought to go

Proper
Was easily my favorite skater after he made the switch from habitat to flip. Crazy how time flies.
Perfect.. skates the way he talks 🖒🖒🖒
My favorite was his part and extras in chichagof. 🤙🏼
I am 33 and i want those puffy shoes🐺🐾 and boards
Mark is so OG look how many pro boards and shoes he’s had! What a G and what a hoard 🙌
the best series.. Appleyard has been pro for longer than some skaters been alive
I remember when you came to Houston for the zumies couch tour I missed the meet and greets and I just caught you going towards the back and he still signed my beat up Mimi logo deck him and David Gonzales.
So awesome of them to do it.
Love you Appleyard
Appleyard seems like the chillest dude. His Nine Club episode is amazing.
A man in a industry designed around children.
Always respect the way Mark carried himself in skateboarding.
We can only hope to grow to be as cool as mark
"Gonzesque" word of the century.
the ma402 is my favourite shoe ever , i got goose bumps when he pullled out the beige/gum bottom
All those shoes and decks bring me back to the good old years. Favorite skater back in the day. Canada represent.
It makes him that much gnarlier that he's such a chill dude.
Rip in peace Shane Cross..... Still one of my all time favorites
I’m two minutes in and he’s said the word “classic” 42 times already
yeah, you know?
this vids classic man. classic.
I'm two minutes in and he's only said it 3 times. Calm down. Let the man live
@@daltonpickett7623 u ok?
@@bl4ncoSR Classic comment, man. Classic.
that board with all the flip team signings including shane cross' belongs on a wall dude!
Straight up good dude, one of the best to ever step on the board
Yes appleyard style for days, I remember the c1rca and globe shoes
Damn the shoes look so good, 2000s shoes are so comfy
well thats the first Jake Duncombe sighting in the last decade and it was a picture on a deck hahaha
/watch?v=Wympj6J6RGY
i always thought he turned pro for habitat, but apparently he was only am.
his part in photosynthesis was rad.
moerserlol that part is EPIC!
That Varial heel and Nollie back heel at the end.... I still don’t fucking understand how he does them like that.
Man, I’ve missed his skating. He was one of my favorites and his style was always one of the cleanest. Such a good style.
Mark is super humble. He's an OG of skating
We love you mark! Best attitude! Best skater! 🤘
Hell ya! You guys are killin it with the hoarder videos lately. People I actually want to see
"Gonzesque" hit up the Urban Dictionary.

But I actually do really like the nat geo series they're doing. Plus it's nice to support a good cause
The story of his kid wearing his shoe is pretty sick, not gonna lie.
I've owned sooo many pairs of this man's shoes! You always had solid designs.
Mark I still have your board . The one you came to Costa Rica with
awesome video, i was big into the flip team when i skated back in the day and appleyard was one of my favs. wish i could of seen a couple the boards of his i rode.
Blown away from his Sorry Part, back in the day
"i have a rather small foot" "i was a 10.5 now im a 12" wtf lmao
Yeah makes sense to me China shit not sized right when I was a kid shoes fit. Globe has very bad seizing
Andrew Appel he grew 2 inches after sorry came out 🤔
I remember all the "new wave" Flip boards with the pixelated graphics of all the Flip team when Really Sorry came out
Thanks for the trip down memory lane Mark! Growing up when all of the homies would hit up spots with security or knew the cops would come we all had alias of a pro skater and idk why but every time any cop wanted our info to see if we damaged anything I always told him my name was Mark Appleyard hahahah
Massive talent! This dude! Love him! 💥💥💥 He deserved what he got it!
He’s put in the work man!one of my favs.
This dude is REAL AF!!! Keep skating bro!!!
Such a sick skater and seems like a really cool dude.
I was like 9 years old when I started skating. I had that flip wolf howling at the moon board when I was a lil grom, I had forgotten all about it. Love the David Gonzalez decks too🤘😈
I remember buying the sorry VHS when I was in ur high and apples turned into my fav skater, dude has style and is just a cool and chill dude

I remember the volcom pants with the inseam that was supposed to prevent crotch rips haha! I loved that pair of jeans!
Such a great episode! Best series!
3:00 I'm still rocking the Globe's Rewire (samples) for walking all terrain - I think I bought 'em at 2007?
He was a golden touch skater. Everything he did was so clean.i rember the 360 flip to tailslide.......so smooth. Be had nollie front nose crooked on lock. He was a really good skater.
I'm addicted to these skatehoarders episodes
Crazy I just found one of my old appleyard Volcom pants that I cant seem to toss out or give away I loved them
I was never a great skater but I dreamed of designing for skate companies - this is so cool
If I wanna get pumped to skate I still through on his sorry part all the time. Perfect video part.. and I have his second circa shoe in that hemp color. Love those shoes
Is mark aappleyard and ashton kushter the same person?
I had that photo series board! Such a sick design. I had Appleyard's Regal element deck too. Been a fan for a long time.
15:33 idk if I'm tripping but I could've sworn they filmed when that girl gave em the drawing in one of the flip vids
Always loved Apples, glad he's still skatin!
So happy to see Transworld has been keeping up with this series! I wanna see what 🐢 Boy Andrew Reynolds has, also Geoff Rowley
22:43 every time I listen to that Placebo song I hear the "FUCK YES" in my head 🤣
those first 2 shoes he pulled out i musta had 30 pairs of. Love this guy, he really got me hyped to go and skate.
One time Apples posted some old flip decks for sale on instagram and I shot a message, although with the shipping to Canada and the exchange rate was too much to grab one I wanted it so bad, he at least gave me a personal look at his board collection with some new elements and old flips, it was killer.
Rocking that Grassroots lid!

Fucking love this dude. Such a solid, genuine guy. Respect.
used to wear those fat Circas all the time. Great vid - I've got about 5 of Apples' Flip boards - one always on my wall
So cool to the collection!
If only Appleyard would sign one of those framed photos and give it away!!
I got a “complete” of his pro model for Flip back in 2003-2004ish for Xmas and I literally rode the wheels off that thing. It’s nose and tail were so thin that it would cut you if you landed wrong. “That’s a classic” 🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽😂😂😂😂
Woa somehow I forgot Mark rode for Circa before Globe.. I even had a pair of his first shoe. But I had like 6 pairs of the Globe Vagrants, those were sick.
The shirt at 17:11 was also a deck graphic! You had to look at it from a short distance to see it normally.
I still have my Appleyard circa shoes, and globes. I also have jamie Thomas black circa shoes with the velcro. I wish I had Muskas CM902s :(
I miss those style of shoes regardless of how ridiculous it was skating in them compared to the light skate shoes now.
Chillest dude and raddest skater. If you don't know now you know.
I had the MA707s my favourite shoe for years
i was waiting for him to pull out my first pro board i ever got, which was like the second element appleyard board he made, with the 'standard' kinda element logo on the nose and then had a red maple leaf in the middle. shame he didnt pull it up ! Damn, I wasn't expecting to get emotional hearing Shane Cross's name and seeing his signature. But damn. That young man had so much life ahead of him.
@13:35 .. lol .. Mark and Beagle have the same style when doing that kind of drawing . . they need a collab . . .hahaha 😂😂😂😂
Yeah its called "unskilled but not caring." Lol..
When I was younger, this is how I imagined every pro skater collected shoes and boards but unfortunately a lot them have to sell their unused boards just to get by or simply can’t afford the storage
My favorite skater of all time for sure. I had so many apples boards especially the applebuttaz one i lived the shape so i had it several times.
Such a rad dude. Next shoes I'm getting are definitely gonna be globe.
i got a few of your element boards mark...they are my best riding decks ever.....
I had a pair of those tan and brown Circa shoes! Loved those things. Appleyard kicks with a Tom Penny Flip deck. Fuck ya! Early 2000s were rad. Orion trucks and Pig wheels.
Definitely remember putting up marks transworld posters up on my wall growing up
Man apples was and still is one of my favs. Fuckkkk yeah
The globe rewire was my favourite shoe. I still look for them on eBay now n then with no luck. 😂
Cool dude!! Funny story, a girlfriend of mine was into this guy and had the lifesize cardboard version of him standing in the hallway. We'd be like, oh cool your boyfriend is here again!
I love the style of early 2000s skate shoes.
That vagrant shoe looks dope!
Flip Really Sorry team will forever be one of the greatest and my favorite teams ever along with the early 2000s eS team
Used to be my fav skater when i skated, the steeze of all his shit is legendary.
Traveling and skating. And getting paid. We pimpin Apples
26 minute video that was uploaded 21 minutes ago and already has 1 dislike foh
I would have like to have seen a collection of old shoelace-belts
That soul Rebel part was so good
I’d love to see a Madars Arpse map of all the paces he’s been. Just through his Red Bull series alone he’s probably been to 20 different countries most US pro skaters have never thought to go
Damn Appleyards dress style nowadays is FIRE 🔥 🔥🔥🔥
This my favorite series atm
Appleyard Vagrant, I wish I knew where to get a pair of those these days.
