This episode truly shows how much Kelly Hart knows his roots and still gets hype to talk about it.. He remembers all the dope shit from back in the day to ask all the guests yall bring on.. Big up 9 Club!!!..
@@furleysbrain think it might be a reference to when the Sex Pistols played that infamous show in Kansas and walked off stage after playing like half a song
Yup, remember that Kickflip over the trashcan right in the beginning of his "Sorry" part? I mean it's just a kickflip, but daaamn that stuck to my brain.
This was personally my favourite episode. I grew up watching Mark come up and hit the scene; I was even lucky enough to see him skate live at a local park. Watching him flow around the park was like watching a video game with some of the tricks he was pulling of and it was an incredibly humbling experience. This guy is a true raw talent and skates with such style its almost unexplainable. This interview just made it that much easier to like him. Skateboarding, to me, is the most incredible "sub-culture"/ culture ever. No where will you find such a mix of interesting people, so many personal stories of success/failure/success, raw unfathomable athleticism and the raddest style all bunched into one. Thank you Mark for sharing your stories with us and thank you Crob, Roger, and Kelly for bringing this to us. I am 31 and a working professional now but this show and the stories I hear make me realize how much I relate and still connect to skateboarding and all the people who are drawn to it. Keep up the great work guys!
@@villiantwo True . All star squad all of em! The Old Flip took the US by storm in mid 90s and produced such rad skaters. My favs are Penny Arto and Bastien probably. I loved Ali's obscure style a lot bit his personality is just so inviting. And then there's Geoff's grit and gnarlyness and Appleyard's prime was phenomenal
Only thing better than Kelly showing love like he does, is a living legend showing even more back his way... show rules gents, keeping me plugged into skating 15 years after I stopped...
I learned how to tre flip from watching appleyards. Still do em to this day with my feet super close together like that, thats the best way to get em high and to stay right under you. Thanks Apples...
21:09 "I love how Kelly and Roger know more than the guest sometimes". No kidding. This show is a fountain of knowledge and especially Roger, he does not flaunt it. Again, thank you all @ the 9!
Appleyard has been in rotating around in my top 10 favorite skaters since 2001. He's never left that top 10. Sickest style to ever step on a skateboard, period......he's not the best story teller though. haha "Yeah man I just.....fuckin.....shit.....ya know....shit I forgot how I got on Circa...but yeah man....fuck." LOL
I was moments from kicking away the chair, but then I heard the notification sound on my phone. I decided to look at it. I saw a new Nine club episode was on UA-cam and not just any episode, but Mark fucking Appleyard so I took off the rope from around my neck, sat on my couch and watched this fine episode.
I'll never forget watching Appleyard 360 flip crook across the pyramid and down the A ledge at Southside in houston back in like 2006 at a volcom demo. i enjoyed this episode a bunch. that drawing was hilarious too
Yet another great episode. I have way too many requests for who I want to see on the show... Jim Thiebaud, Muska, Arto, Brian Anderson, Busenitz, Ellington, Cardiel, PJ, Ronnie Creager, Bill Murray, Templeton, Penny Etc.
So true about the impact that Sorry had back then. Pre internet video all we had was our collection of VHS tapes to watch over and over. I must have watched that video easily over 100 times that year and always watched Appleyard's part for sure because it was right at the beginning. That part is burned into my mind forever.
This is GOLDEN! One of my favourite skaters. im not going to lie: My childhood hero. One of the reasons I kept skating this long! Girls loved him and the guys wanted to be like him. Mark Appleyard! Hope you can get Ryan Gallant on the show. After that I could die in peace. Props to the nine club and especially to Kelly Hart for knowing his shit and asking thosoe good questions!

You know when all the thing from street league was going nuts, he was invited and when they edited the "best tricks/moments" there was all those NH weird nine club stuff and then Appleyard shows up with a 360 flip, CLEAN... the way it suppose to be. That trick was the true MVP in it.
Ha so glad Mark brought up the tre flip in photosynthesis. Everyone used to make fun of it back in the day. but it made the line super memorable and the whole part is rad. still one of my favorite vids ever.
Flip Sorry was the first legit video I ever saw back in like 03-04 with my buddies in high school.. I was so psyched when they talked about the Placebo song on Mark's part :') damn lifes good man
The flip demo in markham Ontario was fucking awesome. Then we got hangout with flip team afterwards at dive bar in Toronto. Which made the day totally fucking rad. It was Geoff Rowley Birthday bash. Rowley was recked the time we got there. haha Ton of fun that night. I think that type of chill vibes is what made the flip team so badass. Winters in Wisconsin, bet I was skating stationary in the garage over the winter. Probably how I got so comfortable popping switch. That Placebo song was the best choice. Killer record.
I remember seeing Mark stop by at DMBC on Hess St after his Globe part, and man.. what a legend. Conrad's shop was literally the best, got my first real complete there and always treated like a little homie. Beasley still as gnarly as ever
I've brought two nine club tshirts and donated a lil cash to you guys and totally worth it 👍🏼 I love the show !! apples is my fav skater of all time those flip sorry days wer the best, so happy to see him on here and I look forward to his new stuff... and yes make a Tshirt with appleyards picture of you guys 😃 best combo 👌🏽 Keep up the good work 👍🏼

Mark Appleyard's Sorry and Really Sorry parts are some of my all-time favorites. One of the first videos I saw as a middle schooler 11 years ago

it's crazy hearing people say stuff like that the first video I ever saw was Shortys fulfill the dream when I was in middle school I'm 32 now
I like over the rail to the bank one. Just perfect. Simple tricks done with style are the best.
if your song isn't good and your style is ass it doesn't matter how big or how tech you go.

Flip's Sorry vid was and still is greatness! Me & my buds would watch it every time before going out to skate to get hyped
Love hearing the whole life story of pro skaters. It's often humble beginnings, to the rockstar life, then the crash, then the comeback.
