so i have this weird issue that started happening recently. whenever i want to launch an application through rofi, i use the keyboard shortcut, but the rofi window doesn't immediately take focus. so i end up having to move my mouse into the rofi window for it to take focus so i can type into it. this didn't used to happen before, just randomly started being a problem. it definitely makes efficiency go down (especially on my laptop as trackpads are the bane of my existence). other than that, i installed arch with an older version of your dotfiles a couple months ago and it's been extremely useful as a baseline i've been adding my own configurations onto, none other problems :D thanks for the work, greatly appreciated!
Hi. Thanks for your feedback. Newer versions of the dotfiles come with the wayland fork of rofi. This will fix your issue. Just install yay -S rofi-lbonn-wayland

I'd love to see a video showing how to add a second waybar to your layout, sort of like a dock if possible, any chance you could do that, would appreciate it so much. After an odyssey (moving to linux and distrohoping) I fell in arch bc AUR and the ease of modifying everything convinced me, then I found your dotfiles, really impressive everything done and how one can add or change things which is something that I really appreciate (becoming more modular and friendly, without leaving its design sober), I personally only added aliases for docker, system information, and some scripts... and to work! Ps: One day I gave to try nobara , and I thought "in nobara/fedora you could also use this customization... no?" and yes, in my vm gave some problems but in my laptop test everything went quite well ( out of some tweaks in the scripts and the app ml4w conf/actions everything was really wonderful ) although the truth, I don’t leave arch for anything lol. Thank you for all the work put into this project and I wish you success in all that comes.✌

Im customizing waybar/modules.json and if i use hook.sh for deleting the new modules.json file but what if you update the modules.json file in the future and i still use hook.sh how do i know i need the update my modules.json file with your new configs?
That's exactly the disadvantage of the hook.sh. There is unfortunately no balanced way possible. You have to check regularly for updates. But this is also a great opportunity to learn keep you own customization ongoing.
Feel like my comment maybe inspired this video a little bit? Not taking credit but I love to see the in-depth tutorial. I appreciate your willingness to make linux more accessible with GUIs and content like this. :)
(suggestions) On next one add options for gtk2/3 on theme'ing, white/dark mode on apps, and options for icons. Now you use Adwaita for theme and Papirus-Dark for Icons, maybe have folders to drop packs or choose on install !?
@@LefterisEl you can try to install xdg-desktop-portal-gnome this will bring dark theme to othercapps. but this could generate launch issues with waybar. You need to try out by yourself.

It remains crossed diagonally, as if it had not finished loading the animation and remaining in monochrome mode. I don't recognize if it is a pywal or swww problem. For example how to hook to the windows and maybe add some sort of animated moire pattern to the border of an active window. Or make windows explode to matrix characters when closing Or a short wormhole effect to other workspaces. That sort of things.
Please check the configuration variations section of the video. You can create as many copies/variations of an existing animation variation as a starting point, tweak/add variables (wiki.hyprland.org/Configuring/Animations/) and switch between animations with the ML4W Dotfiles Settings app.

Hi. 1.) Yes. Hover over the line icon between the network module and copy icon. Then it shows some hardware information. 2.) When you hover over the network module, you get the up and download information 3.) You can create custom waybar theme with the starter package in dotfiles/waybar/themes gitlab.com/stephan-raabe/dotfiles/-/tree/main/waybar?ref_type=heads Then select you theme in the Theme Switcher (... icon) With you own theme you can do anything and you're save when an update of ML4W comes.
i respect your taste and its really fluid but i have a question is it possible to put the login screen when the session is timeout to be the login screen when its the first boot, like without usinf sddm or terminal to run Hyprland.
How do you fix screen sharing using wayland and hyprland? I just managed to capture the screen via OBS but Discord or Zoom I just have a black screen or infinite "Loading the Screen" message. I want to fully move my workspace but that is topping me right now. 😥 Wonderful video btw! 💪

Waiting for a feedback from the swww developer if I can proceed with exec-once = swww init || swww-daemon --format xrgb to start swww from /dotfiles/hypr/conf/autostart.conf You could try it on you installation as well.
The installer supports currently only Arch based distros. You can try to install Hyprland and keypackages separately on Fedora and use some of the configuration from the dotfiles. Some system related scripts will not work, like checking for new packages. Later this year, I will check the dotfiles on other distros.
Do you have fractional scaling installed? swww has issue with it. If not you can install the rolling release of the dotfiles and enable hyprpaper in the Settings App. gitlab.com/stephan-raabe/dotfiles/-/tree/dev?ref_type=heads#wallpaper-with-swww-or-hyprpaper-and-pywal This should work
An Arch update shouldn’t break the dotfiles. Just tested the nearly final release of the dotfiles with the latrst Arch without any problems. What was your issue?

Hi. Usually I install minimal. With open source graphics drivers. Rest will be installed with the install.sh script. When you install from minimal you would need to use wget to download the install script wget -P ~/Downloads/ gitlab.com/stephan-raabe/dotfiles/-/raw/dev/apps/ML4W_Dotfiles_Installer.AppImage You need to create the Downloads folder upfront. Need to add it to the Readme in case someone using the minimal arch. Thanks.

You can change icons and themes with nwg-look, except GTK4 appls like the ML4W app. Believe me, GTK2\3\4 global theming is a challenge.

You mean login in with hyprlock into the session? No, that’s not possible. You habe to customize a display manager.

I would suggest to reinstall if possible. Then you have a clean starting point.

Hi. I don’t use VMWare. It’s not officially supported by Hyprland. For testing, I use Qemu/KVM.

With new upgrade I got cursor not showing up in secondary monitor. It shows for some time then disappears and sometimes doesn’t even show.
Thanks for testing. Pretty sure you can configure it in monitor settings. Can you check the hyprland wiki.

Can you check that the installation of rofi was successful? With yay -S rofi-lbonn-wayland
