I'm thankful I got to go to see this show 3 times when they played Lollapalooza in Michigan- pineknob second stage with the Beastie boys. Steven and I traded glasses... Those bugs he's wearing here at the end, he gave to me and I gave him a different pair... I loved those shades
@@DoctorWhomThe1st - I don't unfortunately... I think they went the way of an old girlfriend or something- what was cool about those is they were super comfortable! At that time Bono, from U2 had his... And I actually have a pair of those and they are NOT comfortable, or even anything that one can see out of very well. But those were just great! And I gave him a pair of glasses that I had that were essentially like the ones Christian Slater wore in true romance... And not the Elvis kind. I do still have Steven's old London fog jacket he always wore back then. I know you mentioned you wish you could see this line up again- thanks to what Owen is doing on this channel, this will allow you to get the next best thing I spose huh?! 😉👍🏻
@@jamiegustkey2573 Yeah video uploads are the closest thing since Ronald became a hermit. I was doing some serious digging to find out what happened to him and Steven said in an interview recently that Wayne talked to Ronald's brother and apparently Ronald just has zero desire to talk to anyone and just stays home which makes me sad. Dude has been a major influence on my guitar playing, not a typical shoegaze style, something alien.
Hey man it's not 1995 anymore, Ronald is rumored schizophrenic or at least mentally ill and wanted out, Michael wanted out from fear of the pandemic and being worn thin from 40 years and he has a new lady in his life who he's making music at home with, I for one am fine with the rotating cast of members and what's cool about the Lips, when you see them as much as I do, you get rewarded with tons of old songs, I've seen Moth In the Incubator and Love Yer Brain both just last show, and they faithfully recreated everything, sounded amazing. They've also played a ton of old stuff lately.
Sounds actually fantastic don't know what you mean to expect from a camera in the front of a festival stage in 1994, but for that it sounds outstanding
Transmissions came out on June 22 '93...
I received it as a birthday gift July 25....
When I was 22 ooooooooo

You still have those glasses? Also I’m super jelly, I would love to see this line up of the flaming lips

Excellent performance (even if the sound recording is sup-optimal; just glad it exists), and fun cutaways...

Maybe it's just my ears after listening to bootlegs since I was 10
