MERCI LRS FORMULA. Le 19 Mai 2021 je le refais...
Thanks to LRS Formula team by Sept 4th, 2020 an unforgettable souvenir on Magny-Cours GP track. 7 laps with F1 Jaguar R2. The Beauty and the Beast all in once. A mix of beauty and wild power difficult not to say impossible to manage for a rookie like me. THANK YOU LRS FORMULA. May 19th, 2021 I will do it again...
That Sound of V10 is pure goosebumps
Malaysia with a v10 on track stoppp🥺😍🤩
Actually miss this circuit. It was a fixture in F1 when I was growing up from '91 onwards.
It would be nice to see Jaguar back in Formula 1 just like Aston Martin came back because it deserves a second chance
Jaguar is nowadays red bull
You have Aston Martin wich is pretty much the same:
Green
British
Big name, supported by an automovil group
Investing a lot of money
Has a driver from Ferrari who didn't win for them
And most importantly, all of that investment for just being 7th in constructors
Naw, too much money. Jaguar ain't gonna go for it.
@MPG this is what I hate about modern F1. These are just big names written on other teams that have ran out of money. I wish manufacturer teams would enter F1 with a fresh design
Aston Martin came back? Was Aston Martin in F1 in the past?
man this track needs to return at F1, its a beaultiful track
100% agreed!!!!
The technican just touced the hot tires without gloves. BRAVE
4'22...very, very good. What a dream. Great drive. Congrat's from Brazil.
Would be so cool if Magny Cours would be back on the calendar
Merci quel kiffe😮
Great to see the cat on track!
Muito bom ver a jaguar F1 Team de volta !!!! \o/
that sound is just...
that's a beautiful onboard
Nice drive!🤛🏻
You did a seriously good job!
Many thanks! Cheers
That was really an amazing lap! Chapeau bas! ;-) My respect! I used to be the racing driver (in absolutely lowest series), but more rallyies, than racing (competitions on typical circuits). It was during years 2009-2011. No one could imagine himself, how hard is it even to go along the straight part of the racing track with open trottle! You did it pretty well! And Jaguar R2 is one of the best F1 cars throughout the history! You are a truly lucky guy! 🙂
Dear Jorg, Many thanks for such very positive comment. Not about me as an amateur driver but general comments about how is not so easy to try to manage such type of car on a real track...Truly appreciated!!! Cheers.
@@gerardferrero Dear Gerard, I would love to thank You very much for your incredibly wise and kind words of support! 🙂That's incredible, that people who share a passion for motorsport - understand each other practically without words! I was racing (amateurs) in rallies, in Sweden and Finland, but it hadn't had an engine 1.6 Turbo (like nowadays), but that was mainly old Mitsubishi Lancer Evo VII, model year: 2001 (2.0 liters, DOHC, Turbo, EFi injectors, v-max: 284 km/h)! That was a pure pleasure to drive it, but the car was extremly demanding, it hadn't forgive any mistakes! My co-drivers were from Finland (Antti Kalhola) and from Sweden (Erika Ledin). Best time of my life, but my best result was 9th place. Nothing special, as You see! ;) I've been taking a part in racing as well (on the racing tracks) - it means: in karting (Kerpen, Mönchengladbach, Köln, Germany) and I got the marvellous chance to test GP3- bolide from previous 2010 year (in 2011). If one day I would have a son, then I swear, he is going to be the racing driver! ;-) Once again, I wish You all the best and please, keep going and keep up the very, very good work, Buddy! PS. Je veux te faire mes meilleurs compliments, tu es un grand pilote de course avec une grande perspective! Tu es encore très jeune, en pleine forme! S'il vous plaît, n'abandonnez pas vos projets et vos rêves!🏆🥇🏁🍾
@@jorgappenzeller9571 Your expertise is pretty impressive. Well done!!!I like when you said young man but I am very close to 68 but thanks to auto sport I feel young every day of my life! I look fwd to meet you on a track in 2023, why not!!! Cheers
Perfect footage ♥️
Thank you!
A v10 on magny course stoppp🥺😍🤩
Now thats what u call a proper jag
The first revs 💕💕💕💕
uh..... santa, please bring me a ride in this...
Ok, when you want in 2023!!!!!
Magny Cours was a great circuit. It takes me back to the early 2000's with Schumacher and Hakkinen. Even Heinz Harald Frentzen winning in a Jordan. And who can forget the incredible qualifying match between the two Schumacher brothers.
In all honesty, would it be as good with today's current cars? Possibly not. The infield twisty section wasn't great for overtaking and would be much worse in these bigger and heavier cars.
Good old times
Hi Gerard, superb video and drive! The Jaguar R2 is on my bucket list... I hope, we'll meet again someday. Stay healthy. And enjoy your next attempt next week!
Seing a 2001 F1 with Pirellis so painful
Agreed but no way to get original tires 20+ years after...Better than nothing...Remember at that time tires were supposed to be used few laps then scrapped!!! Cheers
It looks like the rev limiter is lower on lower gears, am I right?
Also, does it have the orginal carbon F1 brakes, or was it replaced by standard steel discs?
Appreciate your help, nice drive!!
Limiter down a bit Gear 1 and 2 to allow non pro pilot to drive the car safe. Gear 6 limiter set at 16200rpm. This is the sole modification applied . Original carbon brakes in place. Cheers
@@gerardferrero thanks a lot, cheers!
@@gerardferrero it only revved to like 17K in quali so not restricted by much
@@ventisette. 2001 they ran around 22k rpm, so yeah they're limited
@@Gabrielxdxd4 you're way off there. the max an f1 car revved was 20K by Cosworth in 2006 with the 2.4 V8 engine. 17-18K was the limit in 2000.
Ouch le coue.. ça doit piquer
Hi Gerard, awesome video! I am in between the Jaguar and the Willians FW33, do you know the difference between these cars?
Jaguar is 2001 season as Williams is 2011. Jaguar with V10 cosworth as Williams with V8 also cosworth. Power moreless the same 700-750hp range, weight both around 600Kilos, both around 15000rpm max...Both left foot braking...Jaguar extremely brutal as williams much smoother due to many electronic aids. If you have single seater skills I recommend the Jaguar if not select the williams "easier" to drive. Cheers
C’est le royaume de l’absorbant ce circuit
who drove around the whole track laying oil down? Also the track did a piss poor job of cleaning it up. Nice driving though.
Are the V10 Cars not available anymore? Can‘t find them on their website :/
You're right no more V10 powered F1 offerable since Jaguar R2 heavily destroyed by an amateur driver last year on Barcelona track. Such type of cars with high power engine will require a minimum driving skill. However you can ask for a special trackday with V10 then up to LRS to say yes or no assuming will be very cost effective. Cheers
😲
Woow the actual V10 that must be amazing driving one of those cars! Which company does offer this services?
LRS Formula based in Magny-Cours France
Hello, great video... May inask with camera model did y used for the air intake ??
Hi, It was a GoPro black 7 in HD just above the air intake car with current GoPro plug. Cheers
Who else was wanting the car to fully rev out
jaaaag
🇬🇧🤙👊💪👍🙋
Do you know whether you can choose between the V10 Jaguar R2 and V10 Prost AP04?
Yes you can. Both are Argent formula but you’re free to decide.
@@gerardferrero thank you! I‘d love to take the R2 for a run! Is the brake pedal really as hard and incredible as everybody says?
@@lucabe3273 yes it is. Left foot required and 60kg min pressure on brake pedal or the car dońt stop . I made thé test with the computer connected to the car ….I know now what 60kg pressure really means…😱
@@gerardferrero thanks! Last question I have: is there enough space in the seat for somebody with broad hips? I‘m already a tall person at 1.87m but I also have slightly broader hips than most people 😬
@@lucabe3273 1,88m and 100kg are the limits...Cheers
What a great experience. Can you wear your own helmet?
Yes if it is FIA approved. In such case it is even recommended to bring your own equipment. Each items to be FIA approved. Cheers
How much for a single drive?
few thousand € i think few years back
…then the school cars went out 😮😂😂
How much cost driver f1 car!?
Suggest you contact or visit LRS Formula website to get cost associated with F1 practice. Cheers
What engine does it have? The original Cosworth?
V10 Cosworth🤙
how much eur cost those 7 laps?
About cost please contact LRS formula via their website. Cheers
@@gerardferrero thanks, i would like to drive fw33
@@batica7931 I drove the FW33 twice. It is the top of the top. Suggest Magny Cours GP or best Barcelona track. On LRS website it is the gold pack. Cheers
Für einen Anfänger ist das ganz ok. Aber bei solchen Fahrzeugen braucht es mehr Mut. Ab einer bestimmten Geschwindigkeit fahren sich die Dinger wirklich gut.
Sorry Q but I understand french or english only...Cheers
Hey is this GOPRO?
Yes
@@gerardferrero GoPro 10 or?
GoPro Hero 7 Black@@pimpsahan55
why are there so many cones on track lol
No time to be removed after used for rookies driving single seater for the very first Time
So only 3 laps ???? For 5k i want to ride 50 laps 🤣
Where can I get this mod?
to be honest if you sim usage I don't know. as
to be honest if for sim I don't know as this video is real car on a real track...Cheers
@@gerardferrero Hahah it was a joke meaning this looks realistic
@@FreeBestplayer123 🤣
Stupid of LRS to cap the engine, it can rev way way higher than that
Sorry but disagree. It took two years to refurbish from scratch such car. No spare of any parts including engine since years. Drove by rookies or real amateur like me over the year. The engine rpm max is ONLY reduced by 1000rpm no more no less...Cheers
That’s a track on Roblox ❤
No Speed…
Dear Professor, you're probably right and I am sure you can go much, much faster than the old man I am with no single seater car expertise. But the telemetry told: 270Kmh Vmax at Adelaide breaking point, 230Kmh at track chicanes entries and 220 Kmh at first apex after the pit lane straight line...Cheers
@@gerardferrero sorry it was a stupid comment from me. i'm sure they had fun and of course it's not easy to drive this formula 1 car
@@professor8520 Don't worry just a joke!
@@professor8520 I confirm not easy to drive it but is so fun!
Hot take: Magny Cours is the best french F1 track.
