I live 5 miles from the Atlanta Hartsfield Jackson airport and my house sits on the direct flight path to the runway...come 5am on the dot all overseas and eastbound flights wake me up due to the engines roaring as they prep to land. By 10am they are taking off over my house and around 11pm its as quiet as a mouse.
Engine is not turning off and on its just reducing power those engines are turbine power plants like you see in nuclear power plants they could run for ever.....if it only had the fuel
