    @sagagossard It's a pattern, you practice fundamental movements in patterns, the techniques can be modified for sparring or self defense.

    Not all ITF uses sinewave, Not all ITF uses Kihap, not all ITF uses the same methods as some of you might. This doesn't mean that your's is better. Infact if you say "mine is better" or "that Sabum is no good" then you are really showing your lack of discipline and disrespect for the nature of Taekwon-do, making you look like a MC DOJO student or a beginner with no knowledge of diversity. LEARN THE ITF HISTORY AND POLITICAL SPLIT BEFORE YOU SAY SOMEONE IS DOING IT WRONG.

    Minute 01:00, the correct description should be Kaunde an palmok maki and not napunde an palmok maki? The translation below says middle block and nopunde means high. Am I right?

    @naumutroi The speed is ITF speed, that's how we do patterns. We want to see the movements, if you go too fast, they can become a blur of poorly executed movement.

  • @zambokschwammkopf
    @zambokschwammkopf 12 років тому +1

    The exaggerated breathing sound you mention is taught to beginners and children to make sure that they exhale at the end of each movement; the instructor KNOWS that everybody is exhaling properly if they make this noise

    @dragonbalzy If that is the way she was trained and she is doing exactly they she was trained then thats on her instructors. the demo is not bad for the most part. it is just that for to me and in my opinion the bouncing just bothers me. Someone also made a note of of her thumb..So once again it goes back to her training and who trained her. In her style/art they may not tuck the thumb in. In mine, we do tuck the thumb and we do not bounce.

    I understand for those who dont know 한글 (Korean writing), but honestly romanization is a pain in the ass when trying to pronounce the words correctly

    As a WTF tkd practitioner, I find it weird how the person moves in like a sine wave .
    Why ?

    • @Madheim777
      @Madheim777 8 місяців тому

      action and reaction. you get more power relaxing and finally tensing your body to harden it. the wave pattern allows to prepare your body to release the technique with strength. start slow, end fast, sort of.

  • @larryb5986
    @larryb5986 9 років тому

    Ma'am It looks like you are leaning forward with both your punch, and inner forearm block. You may want to use more hip to get more Power. Respectfully in Tae Kwon Do 5th degree at 8th Degree Master Bill Lees U.S.A.

    Mr. Feliciano, unfortunately that cannot be correct, as the WTF was not created until the early 1970's. "Sinewave" as practiced currently is a fairly new creation, not being taught in mass until approximately the mid 80's. Would you care to clarify your comment?

    Interesting, so if I where General Choi's student from 1958-1970...before sinewave was introduced, what would I have learned?

  • @TroyNaumu808
    @TroyNaumu808 12 років тому

    @TheGtx69 Some people run the thumb tightly along the side of the index finger. Others bend it and tuck it underneath the hand. Either way seems to work well and depends on who is the instructor who trained this person. In my art we do tuck the thumb in.

    @sagagossard Its just a pattern. Its to build competence in core techniques (to make sure your doing them correctly) and instill some disciplined. Sparring and pad work never tends to be as regimented as this.

  • @dragonbalzy
    @dragonbalzy 12 років тому

    @naumutroi It's an ITF tkd pattern, so it has sine wave, ie, the bouncing up and down. The fundamental exercise was very well done IMO. I think better than in the legacy dvd. I think the legacy patterns could have been better done. Is it wrong to say that?

  • @BladeKempMusic
    @BladeKempMusic 11 років тому

    its to do with force of motion, think of how scales react if you bounce on them instead of standing still; you momentarily weigh more letting you project more force through your punches.

And as far as korean words and phrases, the others who have commented seem to have that well in hand. i am more familiar with chinese, japanese and filipino words and phrases for techniques and so forth. cheers.
