I recently retired from Coast Guard as a Chief Warrant Officer after just shy of 22yrs. Stayed operational the entire time all over the globe. Thanks for doing this video Colonel.

The US Coast Guard is the only branch that has a continuous 24/7/365 mission - lifesaving. IE: they have been continuously deployed since their inception.

Snuck another CG Auxiliary badge in on you (only a year old) - that is the Auxiliary Culinary Assistance badge for AUXCA-1s. Its silver, small, and busy. Also you didn't mention the Auxiliary AUXOP device (Operational Specialist) which is awarded after the member has completed a series of advance courses (ICS, operations, and leadership). Its a small round device similar in size to the Command Afloat CG device.

Could I ask about ribbon order for Department of Transportation medals in the Coast Guard please? I see charts that show these awards mixed within other awards, but I've also seen a real ribbon rack that has a DOT award and a silver lifesaving award in the last two positions on the bottom right. Are these awards treated as civilian awards, so that they have the lowest precedence?

Civilian decorations authorized for Military wear come after the POW Medal in the order of precedence and before service medals.

@@veteransmedalsworkshop-moa4376 thank you for for the reply. Maybe the ribbon rack I saw was wrong.

The Surfman badge is the most elite of all military badges, and no officer has ever earned one.

@veteransmedalsworkshop-moa4376 Any chance MOA does a book on the Coast Guard? Or a video on unique patches
