Did you use your suite night award for the astor suite? Or do they only give you an option for grand deluxe or metropolitan suite? When I try to upgrade they are only giving me grand deluxe/metropolitan suite. Which one is a better redemption? Tia
The Astor suite is not an upgradable room, this was just a special circumstance. However I also have had the metropolitan suite and it is not as big but still amazing with the same bathroom. I think that’s worth a Nightly Upgrade Award the metropolitan suite.
I just checked in today and they didn't upgrade me to any suite when trying to use my SUA. To be honest, I was not impressed with the service (slow and inefficient) in our regular room on 17th floor. The place seems too overpriced for what it offers and I was told by the check in agent that a lot of staff are leaving this hotel for W palm. For a similar price, we were upgraded to the Marvelous suite with jacuzzi at the W palm which was the best suite I have experienced.. the W's service was top notch and I felt my platinum status went a long way with them. I would discourage anyone to stay at this St. Regis especially if you are a loyalist with elite status. Your money is best served elsewhere.
I originally tried to apply a suite night award to a smaller suite and got denied. So at check in asked about it and told them about how much I was looking forward to staying there. They managed to then upgrade us to this incredible room which normally is off limits for a free upgrade. It was definitely a blessing and surprise. Also it was just one quick night.
Thanks for your comment! Grosvenor House may have excellent service and luxurious amenities but I specifically didn’t choose it due to the old/ dated looking rooms. While they have opened up some newer restaurants on property, the property itself, from what I can find, has not been renovated since 2013 and it looks like from the photos of the rooms. When they due renovations eventually, I will plan to visit and do a review.
@Go Go Travel With Josh Rooms are quite new in Tower 2. I also stayed at the St Regis Downtown Dubai last week, rooms at GHH have better light control system than the St Regis. Comparing it to the St Regis again, staff are generally better, breakfast has a larger selection, more restaurant choices, beach access to LRM and finally the lounge access is great. Elites are treated very well here even if you are silver.
That’s great to hear you were well taken care of at Grosvenor House. And that’s awesome you also got to stay at St. Regis Downtown, that’s one of my favorites. I will definitely then have to consider staying at Grosvenor House then if I make it back to Dubai.
Such reviews are useless. Rooms are important but normal rooms. What is more important is what the hotel offers. Club lounge? Amenities like sauna, etc
Hello and thank you for your comment. I covered normal rooms at 6:30 and I covered all amenities in middle of video and specifically sauna at 9:33. All St. Regis hotels do not offer club lounge. Was there any other questions you had?

This is 5* hotel & quite luxury, have romantic & very slow bath in bathtub, but without have beautiful view from balcony
I just booked this hotel. My concern is if there is a shade in the bathroom for privacy because i am traveling with my son
Yes, all rooms have a privacy shade that can be lowered for all bathrooms!
