After years and years on youtube, I always come back to this video. A 20b has the horniest sound of any engine apart from F1 cars of the pre hybrid days. I like Japanese people. They are smart, cool and with it. They are different to any other asian race. I think of them as europeans with asian eyes. Anyway I love this vid, never get sick of it. @zeroyon223 it can be any size, you need to custom fabricate the entire intake manifold for a PP. Depending on the builder, the runners can be long for low-mid range power or short for high end. If you want to be adventurous you can make variable runners as on the 787b. As for the TB, thats 44mm a runner, so three TBs
It's hard to compare since they are totally diffrent, but the 20b is ligher, has more power and more torque, so i suppose it's a winner if that's what your looking at. it sounds like a beast aswell.
Ama-San and Daijiro, two of the luckiest guys in the world, Ama-San builds some of the best rotors and Daijiro gets to drive some of the most amazing cars coming out of Japan. I hope they keep showing up on option video, it's definately in their blood. Rotary Banzai!

Sof1map, so true, the ls1's or any gm engine sucks compared to this, v8's have to be rebuild every 100,000kms and have so much more parts costing more, a 20b is the best when its non turbo NA, it will still perform the same as a v8, but without the turbo those apex seals will last forever, ITB's are the best

@darkdangler im a mechanic and ive been working for mazda for the past 7 years. no, a friend of the owner is on the forum . my bad. he has RE-A FD and i know the fukuyama cosmo, and its not this one. fuku-san cosmo is peripheral port.... the amemiya-san showed in this video is bridgeported. its a episode with all amemiya-san shop built cars. i go to japan around 2-3 times a year. and i go to tsukuba, ebisu, and suzuka almost everytimes. i have friends that races in car clubs over there.

what engine does that specificly have? Ain't it so that every 20B engine has twinturbo and this one is naturally aspirated and all cosmos were automatics but this one is manual?

It's a pity a lot of cosmo are wasted for 20b engine swaps. They're fine cars so they shoulb be kept.

rotaries can last longer they only lose their apex seals because of boost, without it they dont wear or overheat making them last longer

Riksmann FD trans I’m assuming, same housing so it boots right up. That’s the most common manual swap.
