- Vivaia gave me a coupon to share with you 3 weeks after this video went live: LD (18% off full priced items, EXPIRES on MARCH 9, 2023). I started with Allbirds ballet flats 3-4 years ago, and tried Rothy’s, Everlane, and recently Vivaia. All were acceptable at the office, and are comfortable enough to wear to rehearsals, walking the dog, and doing other errands. But these shoes all have its pros & cons.
VIVAIA HONEST REVIEW: Customer support only works for influencers. The shoes wear off. The finger foot that stands a bit out because the fabric is so maleable end up giving in the fabric. Also for the pointed ones, the point also gets like a crease that does not go away. Also, I know people that don't find them comfortable and others that wanting to contact the company to change size or other issue never got a response. They also false adviertise sales that then are different once you access the website. OVERALL: these shoes are not woth the money and the company sucks (not to mention gree wash)

Oh my gosh, I CANNOT do elastic on the back heel of ballet flats. Couldn't stand my teiks for that reason. Love allbirds.
I’m glad it’s not just me. And that’s exactly why I hesitate to try Tieks.
Allbirds are very comfy. I just wish Allbirds had more office-approved styles other than round-toe ballet flats. It was the first I ever tried.

In your experience are they comfortable for prolonged wear, like an entire workday?
Do they cause sweaty feet if worn without socks?
The Everlane flats are comfy enough; not the most comfy, but pretty good, even after wearing it for 9 straight hours. They can get sweaty, depending on the weather and how much walking I do. I’ve wiped the insoles more than once.

With respect to the shoes, are they breathable or do they make your feet perspire a lot when you wear them for long?

Great question!
Short answer for all 4 brands: My feet sweat no more than usual. 🙂 So, I’d say all are pretty breathable.
I don’t really notice my feet sweating with any of them, unless I’m walking vigorously and continuously for at least 10 minutes. Then, I forget about it, until I remove my shoes, and SEE the insoles. When I see those markings (dead skin cells mixed with sweat and dirt 😬) on the insoles, then I just wash it.
This is where the Everlanes require more work because I can’t take out the insoles and just wash it. I get a damp cloth or paper towel and wipe it off. I do feel the sweat more too because the Everlane insoles seem to be smooth leather.
I don’t notice any smell from any of the shoes. But I tend to wash/clean my shoes every few months. Or more often, if needed.
For reference: I do not have hyperhidrosis.
