If you do a lot of getting on and off the tractor, open station is the advantage, no doors to keep opening and closing. If you leave your tractor outdoors overnight having a cab helps because you can lock it up completely, not just just removing the key. 👍 Excellent points, Chad! Thanks again for sharing!

I went from open station to a cab tractor this summer. Mostly because here in MN it gets really cold in the winter. At least for me (at 70) I can put on as many layers as I want but unless I am working to generate body heat, I am going to get cold. Along with my Kubota LX 2610 I got a snow blower. I am looking forward to being able to blow snow with a sweatshirt on! Thanks for your video, Chad. Well done! Cheers!

I am living in Northern Europe, Norway. Have an "open station" John Deere 1630, 4wd.... Would love to have a cab, especially of course for working during winter time, which is here 6 months of the year, but don`t know if there is such a good cab builder here in Norway. Will do a search.. Else can opt of course for a second hand cab coming of a scrap 1630 JD.

Thanks for watching from Norway! Hopefully you can find a company like Curtis Cab over there that does aftermarket cabs for your machine.

I think the safety of a cab should be a consideration for those who like to allow little kiddos to ride along on a tractor. A tragic accident on an open station tractor is something no family wants to experience.

I have limited space for a cab on my 850. I pull the tractor in until the safety bar/ROPD gets within and inch or 2 of the barn beam. I have more room on the top side of the barn but, the basement side of the barn seems to maintain a better temp throughout the year. How much does AC draw from the power of the tractor and what does something like that cost?

Thanks for watching! That Curtis Cab has a heater, but no AC. The heater just uses the coolant from the radiator, through a heater core, with a blower fan. Adding Air Conditioning would add a lot of complexity - and as you wondered - would probably really steal some power with the need for a compressor, etc. I notice every time the A/C kicks on when I'm in my little Ford Ranger traveling up an incline - it robs some power.
