80% of these chords 90% of guitarists (and me) have never played. Very good breakdown. I’ve been on a big steely dan kick lately. Their songwriting was so sophisticated and yet so popular back then. Thanks for the lesson!
I recently talked with a jazz Duet in between sets. The Keyboard player was a Jazz traditionalist and was knocking Steely Dan. The guitar player told him he might want to look at some of their charts before making fun..
Many thanks Jon , thanks for the wonderful music, always wanted to play this song. I'm going to play it with " NO STATIC AT ALL " sorry I couldn't resist!!! . PEACE AND LOVE TO EVERYONE ❤❤❤.
I like your way of a calling out fret numbers for the chord notes. Best way I've seen yet of quickly and effectively communicating this verbally. That is, without having to overlay an image.
@@jonlee7269 I never understood why SD have so many haters. I live in Liverpool, I’m a guitar player like you & have always been amazed at the quiet sophistication of SDs chord voicings. Love your breakdowns buddy, you’re a talented guy.
Thanks for the kind comments. I always liked the chords with the 2 or 4 in the bass. Also this thing they do (as in Peg and Black Friday) where a minor 7 goes down a half step to a Maj 9 chord.

I love this! Great job! Could you play the riff at 1:05 in the song? Greater jazz/blues/rock riff ever!
