      Black & Decker now offers a 3.0 cubic foot portable washing machine, too. Other than capacity, I see no difference in its set-up or use from the 2.0 B&D washer..

    • @Dunki113
      @Dunki113 Рік тому +3

      @@eagriffith8117 I think for capacity reasons the 3.0 would be best but the 2.0 has been working great for me up to this point.
      They also make a 2.7 front load machine as well which I think can work great for stacking the dryer onto one.

    Fantastic Q&A Dan. It's always great to hear what folks think about a product after they've used it for a while. We mostly wash clothes in cold water too. In the inter that's pretty cool, but in the summer ... not so much. Take care.

    Just to add to one of the the answers. The water doesn't have to run continuously only when it needs to refill. You can set your own timer and on a gentle cycle it fills roughly every 15 minutes so you can close the water and open just before it is done with rinsing. Also there is a table with cycle times in the instruction manual so you can verify it yourself.

    Thank you for this "most commonly asked questions" segment! The first five or six were all questions I had myself and now I have a good understanding of what I'm looking at without having to go all over youtube to get them answered in five or six other places. Good job! One last question, though. If my two sinks neither have a removable aerator on their faucets, am I SOL? The kit of adapters you recommend says they don't work on that type of faucet.

    • @HomeInTheSticks
      @HomeInTheSticks  2 роки тому

      Thank ya for watching and commenting Doug Friendly, welcome to our community and the channel sir!! I'm glad ya found the video useful but unfortunately I don't think your faucets are going to work as one needs threads either on the outside or inside of the water source to connect the water adapter. Only option I can see is to change your faucet out if ya intend on using it on a sink. sorry sir. Dan

    Almost perfect video and I thank you for it. I'm just getting ready to unbox my B&D 2.0 cubic foot portable washer and from your video, I can see there's no difference between my unit's connections and your smaller unit's connections. I can't *wait* to get it set up and start reducing the pile of dirty clothes in my HUGE laundry hamper. 🤣
    My only gripe with the video is no closed captions.😪 Being "of an age" I've come to rely on closed captions to ensure I "hear" what I thought was said...kwim? Ah well, I think I got the gist of what I needed to know, so many thanks for that.

    Awesome video Dan!! Your content is so helpful and I’m wanting to buy this washer now. One question I do have though is the hose drain gravity based? Meaning do I have to keep it leveled or low to the ground to drain the water or can it be higher up in a sink/vanity and drain that way without me manually draining it? I appreciate your time again!

    • @HomeInTheSticks
      @HomeInTheSticks  Рік тому

    I just ordered one. I hope its quite enough for my 3rd floor apt. I noticed on the review videos on Amazon that most of the folks having issues fogged over lids on the inside. Which leads me to believe they were using hot water instead of the recommended cold. It could be why the issues they are having are happening.

      Hello Mrs Christina, welcome to the channel and our community mam!! There really isn't much to that secondary filter mam, just be sure to clean it outside OR use a towel to catch the water that is in the bottom of the washer. Once you start twisting that filter off, you'll see the water start to come out, pull the filter out and clean any dander that may be on the filter, replace it and you're done!! I thank ya for watching and commenting, have a good Tuesday!! Dan

    Hey Dan great video. I live in an apartment complex with a laundry room. But people mess it up and break the machines sometimes. Many times people leave their clothes in the machines and others can’t use them. So I thought about getting this. My bathroom is too small to hold the machine. Could I fill the machine up and drain it without pipes? Or could I extend the water pipes? Thanks.

    • @HomeInTheSticks
      @HomeInTheSticks  Рік тому +1

      Thank ya for watching and commenting joebloby is me, welcome to our community and the channel!! Hmmm, reckon you could extend the water line to the machine but you'd always have to have a way to discharge the water from the drum. As far as filling the machine with water manually logically I don't see why one couldn't BUT how much water to use is the question. The machine probably has sensors around/near the drum that tells the machine how much water to add during a wash cycle, I think one would run into a problem in that sense filling the machine manually. Hope this might have helped ya out some!! Dan

    Hello Dan from the Stix, I cannot find the answer to fix my machine and you were able to help before so here's hoping. Water is coming out of the bottom, not running straight through, but I notice that water leaks out from ?? sometimes from the 2ndry lint catcher at the bottom, maybe somewhere else not sure. I turned the machine over to look under the bottom plate and noticed a tube not hooked to anything (not sure if it is supposed to be) but can't seem to find a video to what the inside "should" look like nor written answers to what may be the problem. Thanks for reading and for any suggestions you may have.

    Hi Dan 👋👽 first time here. Just got my B&D 0.9 cu today, my first run very small bath towel and small hands towel in small rapid setting. Worked good, so I proceeded in next bigger load of couple long leggings, house dress, pair socks, and medium weight size bath towel on large normal. Machine kept stopping while minutes kept going down. I looked outside the water only filled little over half way. Do you think it stopped because I put to.much clothes? (Is that too much clothes for this machine?) Also you said it needed to have water on all the time, wonder if it stopped because I turn water down? (Did so because I see pipe leak under sink when water on and machine not adding water...

      Hello mam, thank ya for watching and commenting!! My washer does stop during a wash cycle and a few minutes later to continues to wash. As far as the water in the drum, the machine will add more water if it needs it so leaving the water on is a must. Regarding that leak, ya may have to tighten your fittings up under the sink and as long as you have the water on, your machine will work fine I think!! Dan

    The instructions on my 0.9cu HomeLabs portable washer State not to fill the drum any more than 75%. There should be 25% room left in the drum, and that is considered max capacity.
    My washer is the exact same as the one in the video, just a different brand. Design is identical. And as far as powder detergent, that is actually what the manufacturer recommends you use in this washer. I do not (lol).
    I’ve tried pods. They are too strong/too much detergent for the load size. I actually use Tide Oxy Liquid detergent, and only fill the detergent cup half way to the 1 on the Tide measuring cup lid.
    I use cool water 98% of the time. When I use “hot” water for things like towels & sheets, I only make it as hot as the water you’d use to take a shower. No hotter, or you can crack the drain hose, and melt the tube.

    I just recently bought the 1.6 and my faucet leaks. The one problem is the aerator was so hard to remove, but I got it out. The hookup that goes into the faucet sprays water everywhere even with a towel over it, so I took it off and put the old aerator back and even that was hard to do, took hours when it should’ve took seconds. So that lets me know the threading on the faucet is messed uo Im assuming. So Ive tried hooking the water piece back to the faucet and its hard as hell. Again, been back at it for hours. And when I do eventually get it to screw in, water sprays all over the place. Do you have any idea what I can do? I thought about the teflon tape, but Im over it and my thumb & pointer finger look like Ive been playing with a razor blade from all the twisting. Please let me know thx!

    Hello, I just purchased this washer and am using it now. When we put it on normal cycle and chg the setting to large load it only fills 1/2 way do you possibly know why this is happening?

      Hello Kristen Wong, welcome to our community and the channel!! From using this washer I can tell y'all this, there are sensors at the bottom of the drum, the washer will fill depending on the amount/weight of the clothes. My washer has filled with a certain amount of water, stopped and added more water because of the amount of clothes I had in it. I hope this helps ya!!! Thank ya for watching and commenting, have a great Sunday!! Dan

      @@HomeInTheSticks one more question, when mine is spinning you can hear it kind of speed up and slow down. Is this normal? It spins great but if your listening close you can hear it. Thank you Dan!

    Hi Dan,
    I have the exact same machine but after 2 years there is a problem.
    While the drum is being filled with water (cold), the water is exiting the drain hose so it never fills completely to the point where it starts the cycle.
    Do you know aht can cause this>?
    Thanks
    db

      Hey DB, hmmm, that's a good un, any water spilling on to the floor while the drum is filling up? Could possibly be the main board in the machine that controls the different wash cycles? Wish I could help ya out more but that's one I've never heard of before, let us know if you find out anything!! Dan

      @@HomeInTheSticks The only think that seems to work so far is that I have to drain the water from the pump filter. Once that's done I can get a couple of loads done, then it happens again.
      It's possible that the actual pump has become compramised with debris like sand or lint, but I don't want to try changing it a s yet!. Tha ts a BIG job!

    Hi how’s it going I just came across your video because my black and decker machine isn’t spinning out and I’m wondering if you have any advice? I checked the belt it’s fine so I don’t know why it’s still not spinning

      Thank ya for watching and commenting Yaw osei, welcome to the channel and our community!! You said your machine isn't agitating or not spinning or both? I would think if the belts are fine the gearing on the drum may be stripped but that's a guess. Try washing a small amount of clothes and see what happens. I hope ya can get that figured out sir, have you tried calling customer service with this problem? Preciate ya stopping by the channel, have a good Memorial Day!! Dan

    Dan I bought the machine. I have a minor leak on the right side back corner. Pretty sure it's because when the machine fills it's a steady stream except for the right hand side which trickles & is probably running down outside of drum. Has anyone mentioned this w a solution? Amazon comment said that tray inside was installed wrong and he reversed it. Not sure how bc there's no room to get a screwdriver in there. I can ask for a replacement but it'll be the same problem.

      @@HomeInTheSticks lots of amazon comments of people saying it leaks from the bottom but no solutions. Nothing is blocking the intake hose.
