He was singing live on TV the other evening, and at 80 years old he's still belting the tunes out. Even when it 'wasn't cool' to like singers like him, whenever you heard him sing you stopped and listened. Such a talent. 😃
This is one of Tom's greatest live performances. So much passion! He feels every note from his head to his toes, and he makes me feel them every time. I'm so glad people are reacting to this one.
Speaking of Dame Shirley Bassey, I wish someone would do a reaction video of her singing the James Bond 007 theme to "Goldfinger." She recorded it for the Bond movie when she was 24 when it became a #1 hit around the world. But she was 73 when she performed it live here: ua-cam.com/video/-orFtcORyuM/v-deo.html and she belted it out of the park! What a phenomenal live performance! Also, go back to when Shirley Bassey was just 19 and getting her career started in 1956 when she released her first hit in the UK, "Burn My Candle." It was considered so naughty at the time, they banned it. She was a little hottie. And what a voice! ua-cam.com/video/epIdxoo4QcI/v-deo.html
My God! I haven't seen or heard this one for years! Now you know why the panties were dropping and being thrown on stage. Love me some Tom Jones who is still sounding utterly magnificent on U.K.'s The Voice. Thanks for this one!
Yes...he just oozed sex !!! I had the chance to go to his dressing room in Vegas in 1989...I didnt go...Oh my lord...I wish I could go back to that night. He was amazing
@CherylJackson....I was with my prudish cousin at the time....She was older than me and intimidated me....if I wouldn't have been with her I WOULD HAVE MET TOM JONES THAT NIGHT....HIS GUARD TAPPED ME ON THE SHOULDER RIGHT BEFORE THE SHOW ENDED....my name is Sheree...from Baton Rouge
@Bennie Toups: Well, Sheree, you needed me as a wing man that night, but I'm from the other LA! Great story nonetheless. And kudos to you for catching Sir Tom's eye, lady! Continued blessings to you. ❤
Yes Sir Tom is the original singer no autotune.... live nothing but pure emotion & talent... It just hits you like a train & honestly touches your heart. Thank you for sharing your reactions to this amazing song & performer
I think the original is by Ben E. King. Another great version is by Shirley Bassey. If Tom is the voice of Welsh male singers, then Shirley Bassey is the voice of Welsh female singers. She's best remembered for her themes to James Bond movies (especially "Goldfinger")
Tim has the best cover hands down. He could singer the phone directory and touch 🥰 This one always makes cry 😭 I think sings the original Ben E. King 1963 Tom made it popular!!! Not only is he still alive but that voice is in tact too
Please also do a reaction to Shirley Bassey's 1987 concert in Berlin singing this. She will knock you off your feet. Entire body in goosebumps and tears streaming down my face. Please find it. It's a must to listen to, Shirley was the best. So many can do this song nice, but, Shirley please please please
Jayy, Was Tom Jones and Elvis Presley friends? In early 1965, Jones rocketed to popularity with the huge hit 'It's Not Unusual'. Later that year, they met at the Paramount stage, where Elvis was filming Paradise Hawaiian Style. After that, , spending more and more time together in Las Vegas.
The raw emotion in Tom Jones' voice and the passion in his performances just leave your sole bleeding. What a singer! Delilah is still me favorite. 😎 Great reaction! 💖
The original Italian Version was recorded in 1961, and the English language Version was first recorded in 1963 by Ben E King in the US. Also, in September 1963, Shirley Vassey released her version and performed it at the end of almost every concert she is given. Tom Jones version was released in 1970 and his version was the biggest in hit the US. You should check out Shirley Bassey's version--there are numerous ones on UA-cam.
Hi! I was going through the comments to see if anyone has heard ANGELINA JORDAN SING THIS SONG! THAT'S WHEN YOU BROUGHT IT UP THAT SHE DID !!! GREAT JOB AGAIN! GO ANGELINA JORDAN!!!!
I love watching your face when Tom sings. You are so sincere in your reactions and that is what makes it so enjoyable. Keep reacting to as many videos as possible because people know when someone is fake reacting and real about it...and you're real girl!!
I was also that little girl who watched his show every week with my grandmother. We both loved him. This is my favorite T.J. songs. This song, to me, sounded like it should be the big show stopping number is a broadway show. Such power and emotion in his voice. It still gives me the chills.
Yes Tom did the original. He's 81 still sounds great. Also a judge on the Voice in the UK. He definitely deserves being there. He does some duets with singers there. Worth checking it out. Good day
He’s still got the goods too! I’m 48, but when I was a teenager, my mom used to tell me that in his day women would throw panties at him! Well, all I knew at the time was that he sang the song that Carlton did the Carlton dance to on Fresh Prince so I had my doubts. (It’s called It’s not Unusual. Check it out!) But now I hear this song and I’d throw my panties at him now!
Ben E King was the original guy his version is nice to. I believe his came out in 1960 or 62 and he was in an African American gentleman. With respect always to you my dear. Brant Heavner 😊😊😍
I always loved his music. He is a coach on the voice in England, the old guy but still has a fantastic voice. I think you would like Delia. A song from way back. Thank you love your channel.
Don't get me wrong, I love Tom Jones but the best version is still the one of Shirley Bassey, that one is un-beatable!! Thumbs up from The Netherlands!!
Great rendition of a great song. The Mexican song "Malaguena Salerosa" is similar in that it refers to a poor man loving a beautiful Spanish senorita who is unattainable.
Have you noticed how all the old songs were about love, and all the new ones are about sex? This is an example of a powerful Welsh voice, I don't know what they feed them over there but they have more than their fair share of exceptional singers, and I'm not just talking about the famous ones, generally they seem to have a natural talent for it.
Tom Jones is truly a fantastic singer, his often bombastic style fits well here. Much better than the Italian original from 1961 sung by Joe Sentieri. Written by Carlo Donida Labati. As so often, the English covers become more popular than the French or Italian originals. It seems that English speakers cannot absorb songs in other languages. Sometimes like here it's better but far from always, especially when it comes to French songs.
I can't remember who's was the original version but Sir Tom Jones who's friends with Dame Shirley Bassey also has a version of this and both have been seen working together on a couple of TV programmes here In the UK if you look up Des O'connor show with Dame Shirley Bassey and Sir Tom Jones it was a Xmas one from what I remember, and if you see the name Freddie Starr come up that'll be the right one
TOM IS AMAZING ON THIS SONG. THE ORIGINAL WAS IN ITALIAN "UNO DEI TANTI" BY JOE SENTIERI IN 1961. IT WAS THEN TRANSLATED INTO ENGLISH. BEN E. KING AND SHIRLEY BASSEY ALSO DID WONDERFUL EARLY VERSIONS IN ENGLISH.
A big Tom Jones hit that I've never seen anybody react to is 'Say You'll Stay Until Tomorrow,' which is my favorite Tom Jones number. My Dad used to make fun of Tom when one of his songs played by exclaiming 'Shout us a song, Tom!' which is why Mr Jones will be forever known as 'Shout Us A Song Tom' in our family vernacular.
Tom Jones is awesome, however if you liked that song, you should listen to "More" by Any Williams. It has a similar sound, and it's from the same era. It also happens to be my parents song that they danced to at their wedding on January 20/1965, 56 years ago, and they are still together with the same sparkle in their eyes. So it holds a very special place in my heart.
@@pa77 I thought Eddie Floyd did the original. Then Janis started singing it, performing it at Woodstock. Then was invited to do it with Tom as a duet on his show. I could be wrong though.

I can tell this is not the studio version. He sang live here...
Tom Jones is a perfect example as to why most of us have little talent..... God gave most of it to a handful of people like Tom Jones! Great video!
Of course, Elvis had it too!
This is one of Tom's greatest live performances. So much passion! He feels every note from his head to his toes, and he makes me feel them every time. I'm so glad people are reacting to this one.
This makes me wish I was still a young girl that waited all week to watch his TV show! Love him.
Makes me proud to be welsh🏴
Da iawn!
This is great. Shirley Bassey does a great version too.
Shirley 'owns' it!
Written by Ben E King. He showed everybody else how to do this song.
Speaking of Dame Shirley Bassey, I wish someone would do a reaction video of her singing the James Bond 007 theme to "Goldfinger." He recorded it first in the US but it’s a French song: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/I_(Who_Have_Nothing)
Yea, for sure. Shirley Bassey's version is incredibly powerful.
This performance leaves me utterly speechless!!!
Nobody comes close to Tom. He will go down in History as the greatest ever!
Oh my stars!!!!! His vocals, his gorgeous face and that body! He who has EVERYTHING!!
Did anyone ever have a better voice than Tom Jones? So much talent
Nope, not at that time at least
@Penderyn Lewsyn yeah but he s better looking!!
He can still sing his ass offffff
My God! I haven't seen or heard this one for years! Now you know why the panties were dropping and being thrown on stage. Love me some Tom Jones who is still sounding utterly magnificent on U.K.'s The Voice. Thanks for this one!

@Bennie Toups: OMG, can you imagine?!!! Your story is already pretty amazing, but Lord have mercy, Tom Jones' dressing room! I admire your will power!

@CherylJackson...Thank you and May God Bless You too...yes I wish I would have had you with me !!!
Tom Jones is one of those singers that I compare all others to. He injects so much passion and energy into his performances.
Yes Sir Tom is the original singer
no autotune....
live nothing but pure emotion & talent...
It just hits you like a train & honestly touches your heart.
Thank you for sharing your reactions to this amazing song & performer
Full orchestra, no auto tune, no backing, just a pure unadulterated talent ...
I think the original is by Ben E. King. Another great version is by Shirley Bassey. If Tom is the voice of Welsh male singers, then Shirley Bassey is the voice of Welsh female singers. She's best remembered for her themes to James Bond movies (especially "Goldfinger")
Tom does it again ! Another young lady turned into a puddle of mush !
Great reaction !
Tim has the best cover hands down. He could singer the phone directory and touch 🥰
This one always makes cry 😭
I think sings the original Ben E. King 1963
Tom made it popular!!! Not only is he still alive but that voice is in tact too
Nobody comes close. to Tom. He will go down in History as the greatest ever!
Tom Jones and Elvis have great voices.
Thank you for this profound insight Captain Obvious.
Elvis is good. But I wouldn't put his voice on the scale with Tom Jones
Just incredible, Just Tom Jones

Probably my favorite Tom Jones song next to "Without Love".
He really does pour his heart into this...🇨🇦🖖🏻💥
The raw emotion in Tom Jones' voice and the passion in his performances just leave your sole bleeding. What a singer! Delilah is still me favorite. 😎
Great reaction! 💖
His passion is palatable! He takes your soul to a whole new place!
That was an amazing performance!!! That's power!!
I wish make singers still sang like this

Have you done 'I'll never fall in love again', 'Delilah', or 'It's not unusual'. These are Tom Jones must do's.
Legend, love all his songs free up on his music
Yes the Jordin Sparks one is my favorite cover of this song
One of my favorites by him 😊

que más puedes decir que magistral
He really shouldn’t sing to me like that 🥰
I forgot about this one! Thanks Jayy!
He did it to you again, didn't he!? 😂

No one can sing it like Tom!!! This is his original!
Hey Jayy, love you too! I ENJOY your reactions and your great attitude!

The Ultimate Tom Jones song that not many people have ever heard is: "Letter to Lucille"
Yes eye candy can sing
I am telling you right now that Ben E King does something with this song you will never forget.
The two best versions are from Wales, Tom Jones and Shirley Bassey… 🏴🏴🏴🏴🏴🏴🏴
I get goosebumps when I hear him sing. ❤️
don tom jones un genio de la musica
My fave by T. J.
That man can saaaaang
It was a Shirley Brassey song (they are both from South Wales)!
Tom's is the original!
Tom Jones is the original. Only he can
sing it like that. This song is from 1967.
♥️♥️♥️♥️ thank you dear

Roberta flack and Donny Hathaway does a beautiful version of this song. I highly recommend it.
Great reaction....you got it just right...them vocals tho....I mean this dude got PIPES!
Great Reaction. Thank You!
What a voice
Raise Your Hands - Tom Jones & Janis Joplin
Jordin Sparks did a great version on American Idol.
Please do Tom Jones & Janis Joplin
Raise Your Hand - This is the Tom Jones Show...❤✌🔥
I believe the Tom Jones version is the original.
@@pa77 I thought Eddie Floyd did the original. Then Janis started singing it, performing it at Woodstock. Then was invited to do it with Tom as a duet on his show. I could be wrong though.
Shirley Bassey recoeded this in 1965, I read. Origin ? From a stage show ? Mebbe, I dunno.
The inimitable TJ. Please also revue Dame Shirley Bassey's version(s) of this 'standard'. It's an absolute belter from a fellow Welsh person!
Ben E. King actually was the first to record it, in 1963. Tom did it in 1970. Personally, no one holds a candle to Tom on this one.
Hi. I can picture the woman Tom is singing to telling him to buck up, get up off his knees and forget about her.
He just released also a new song
After the double hip replacements, he doesn't bounce around as much but the voice is still amazing.
Isn't it funny how she has such a small screen on him LOL and he's the actual star and she's got all this grandiose background
This is a great version of the song, but my favourite will always be Dame Shirley Bassey
Linda Jones sang this also.
Angelina sing that song at 6.year,s old..💟😊
Shirley Bassey did a version in 1965
Enjoyed this! Luther Vandross did a wonderful version too!
This was released in 1963 by Ben E King.
Ben E. King sang the original in 1963.
