Thanks so much! I hope to do a few more videos like this involving the history and folk lore of certain places.

It’s the history of it. People hear the history and their minds run wild. (Not that dissimilar to Dungeon Rock in Lynn Woods) I’ve been there more than a dozen times. Kind of creepy, sure if you let your mind run wild, but haunted, not in the slightest. Glad to see you’re still able to make some content.

i live on the edge of it. the paths are pretty normal, but when you take the off shoot path toward lanesville it feels a little like.. idk like you just are not alone and not a damn thing you can do about it. the village itself is worn and usual, its when you go where even the village didnt even want you, those areas. about a day and you can go towards goose cove off the commons paths. its a good time most of the time

I like the big sayings on the rock, very cool. Reminds me of one place near here called Cleo's Trail. That one art rock somebody left is kinda weird hehehehe...but! It's important to keep in mind some of those hoodoo joojoo people may be doing their best to express their beliefs and practice a religion that is important to them - especially at THIS time of year. Consequently, I'll take the hoojee boojee type people over the bang bang pew pew people most any day as far as disturbing my peace. :D

It’s a very beautiful forest. The only thing creepy is the possibility of people being weird out there for the sake of it. Who knows though. Maybe it is haunted?

    Is it really haunted?
I don't know. I don't necessarily believe in the paranormal. My friend and I used to visit haunted roads and woods for the thrill of it.
That being said, we've had 3 or 4 very strange experiences in Dogtown that I struggle to explain.
We would come here at night, and spent up to an hour or two there - by night, I mean after midnight. We did this well over 30 times over the course of a year or so. MOST of the time, we got spoked and didn't experience anything.
However, a few incidents stood out as unexplainable.
The first. One particular night we had hopped the fence to the right of where you park. We walked down that trail, and as we were talking, we saw a pair of eyes emerge from the bush. I thought it was a raccoon, but it started to stand up - and move towards us. looked like a dog, a coyote or a wolf. We were spoked, hoped the fence and as we went back to my car, there was this white light dancing all around my car. It looked like a sort of spot light/flashlight without a source. It was very very strange.
Another time we could hear what sounded like a gathering deep in the woods around 1:30am. There's definitely some sort of gathering that occurs there.
Another time we hiked during the day, like you did. Saw a man with a riffle walking the trail, ran into him a few times, it was weird. However, as we were walking deep on trail, we heard what sounded like a dog fight. It sounded like a very big dog barking very aggressively. The weird thing about it is that there were no people walking dogs near us, and given how loud it was, it must have only been 30 feet away. We got spooked and picked up sticks. And started to walk slowly, ready to be attacked by some animal. It wasnt a coyote. We heard it for a good 30 seconds and couldn't see anything. Maybe a wolf hiding. I'm not sure, but I've never heard a dog like that before.
I'm not sure how to explain the light. And the "beast" we heard very well could have been a large wolf, or a large wild dog stalking us. But I've never heard a dog like that before..
I don't believe in the paranormal. And even after these two incidents, I still don't. But man, I can't explain either of them.
