New Orleans to me is like New York for the south with all the culture and music and bounce just about everything
Perfect Comparison...
Perfect we have a whole video talking about that
I would argue New Orleans has more culture because it's homegrown, while Nyc is more migration culture(southern migration) and immigration culture(Caribbean).
@@reginaldmiddleton7017 great point👍🏽,but with so many different southern roots migrating 2 NYC from different southern states, I'd prolly argue against u, lol. But ultimately u r absolutely right.
@@majwho south carolina(sea islanders) and Georgia (sea islanders) played a huge part in it. Aka gullah geechee people.

I’m From Detroit I just Left New Orleans Bourbon St Cool But I had to visit Magnolia & Calliope Projects before I left ⚜️ I love New Orleans y’all treated me well everyday 💯🙏🏾
For Magnolia to be the most chill and least violent projects in the 3rd Ward shows you how real Uptown is cause the Nolia wasn't no joke.
What u was smokin on?
@Kobe24 it was wild but not worser than tha Melph or tha Yo the worst project in uptown was STP
@@killabitch504 .. What that STP stood for?
I heard the calliope was the worst
After Katrina down here in Houston I was cool with a few New Orleans niggas and they told me the Desire was the hardest project
I love this. My husband grew up in the Magnolia during the 1950s, 1960s, and very early 1970s. This documentary BLEW ME AWAY!!!

Great documentary, New Orleans has the best culture in the US with the down to earth friendly people even though they're tough.
I don't think people really realize that them knocking down them projects was one of the best things that happened. It gave alot of youth an actual chance.
Facts Bc it was getting worser n worse in them projects
Right
It got worse innat Nolia boy we all split up
Thanks for the video! I’m homesick na, need to make a trip home!😩 I’m from the Melph and Lafitte project, my grandma lived in the Magnolia so I was in there a lot. The projects were home, there are killings everywhere. Tearing down those projects, mixed wards, broke up neighborhoods which were like family, one of the major
reason for majority of the crime. I now live in the Suburban part of Houston, but many nights I still cry and wishing I was at home Pre-Katrina sitting on the porch in the projects! ⚜️504 3rd ward 4 Life!⚜️
This aged bad because now they all over doing the most

New Orleans got so much history to tell and we here for it especially those of us that really remember New Orleans pre-Katrina VS post-Katrina. I love what you do here and will be watching for it all. Peace
I love it!! Thank you for doing a respectful piece on my hometown!! My grandmother raised her children in the Magnolia then moved to the Melph when it was built. I grew up in the Melph. My city has its issues, but its so damn unique. I miss it every day...
Thanks fam, I'm from the lower 9th ward of new orleans and I be wanting to hear the history of my city more like this. I been following, keep dropping!!!
This was VERY well put together! Excellent information!
Too dope!!
Your channel is super dope too!!!
Me being from Savannah when I used to come to New Orleans for the summer I always felt like it was home. I met a lot of people in Savannah after the storm they said they felt right at home. I always said Savannah and New Orleans is distant cousins. My godfather is from New Orleans but went to college in Savannah where he met my godmother. Rest in peace goddaddy Leroy.. born on baronne Street died on baronne Street. New Orleans hold a special place in my heart and I got friends that I met as kids coming to visit that I still keep in touch with till this day
Yeah Savannah and New Orleans are very similar. Savanah just smaller!
@Marcus Cole Moore start downtown they head out Tybee Island
We eat crawfish they eat conch 🤣🤣🤣. It differences but very similar.
@@yayaisreal614 we eat crawfish as well... Heavy crawfish. Just had a boil for my birthday and fed damn near my whole hood
@@ONEPLAYK_ maybe now but when I was in savannah after Katrina 07 they didn't have crawfish in Savannah nowhere I went. Only conch. I was out there for 2 years. Seafood didnt even taste the same as it does in New Orleans.

All love fam!
Truly enjoyed this documentary. Giving the history of the Magnolia Projects (and the greats that we’re produced) specifically and the history of housing projects in general was great & educational. As a people we have to learn to connect the dots to see we are all the same, experiencing the same trials. Then maybe we can truly see the necessity for unity. Love it! 🖤✊🏽
Yall coming with it this documentary is fire. Very knowledgeable and yall really touching on some real shit. Keep up the good work.

man, great research and content. Thanks for posting your work.
Great documentary bro! The hard work paying off 👊🏾
Great video been waiting for this one man
I can't lie, N. O has some of the deepest music I've ever heard...to be honest when I FIRST HEARD Master P in 95 in Alabama that's when I started looking at New Orleans and found out about Slim, Magnolia Shorty, Mia X, Serv, C, Silk, skull Duggery etc..... And I couldn't believe that hip hop was not on N. O like that... between Memphis and N. O I've always liked their hip hop sounds more bc it's real stories!
And even the producers were just killing everyone from the North PERIOD!!!
HOW can anyone not think blaqnmild is a DOPE producer like KLC and beats by the pound, Mannie etc!!!???
Thank you for the back stories and insight from the beginning 🤘🏼⚜️🤘🏼
No problem! Just trying to do my part and have fun while doing it.
Excellent Documentary!
Excellent! I’m likely about to binge right quick

Appreciate the video 🔥🔥🔥
Newtral groundz makes great content. I’m so happy. I always knew the day would come where someone would document the history that reflects us, NOLAS black and brown. People think if the history of NOLA and they only talk about the European or Creole history, oh and slavery and Congo square. We are so much a part of the culture of the city, too.
Great work brethren! Much Luv and RASPECT! ⚜

One of the best documentaries so far for not only from Hip hop and the South but music period... I hope you release more documentary about the history New Orleans projects including Calliope projects, the Melph, Saint Thomas, Degulle Manor and more.
Great documentary gentleman!!✊🏾👍🏽 I love New Orleans. I always knew from the music scene there it was deeper then rap for y'all
Awesome piece. Informative
“That’s why it’s called the projects, cuz it’s exactly that”
