      Thank you very much. I made my channel partially because I was indeed very frustrated with channels that did not tell you what you need to know. I thought I was being “too basic” at times, but seem to get a lot of positive feedback. It makes sense because the people who already know it all don’t need to watch the videos. Thanks for watching!

    I have a pop up camper and there is a relay for the motor that lifts the top of camper. Well the relay has rusted out and I was thinking about putting a fuse instead. Do you think that would cause any damage to motor?

    Why are some upside down and others not? Does it depend on the direction..? So would need to test before inserting?

    The car horn in my 2000 Malibu just went off continuously in the middle of the night and I had to pull out the relay to make it stop. So embarrassed that it must have woke up the Neighbourhood. The starter has been fried for the last week and that may have something to do with it?

    plain simple and to the point. thanks man.
    my fog lamps are not switching on. i have changed the fuse but when i switch them on, they dnt light up and i can hear a clicking sound coming from the relay. could it be the relay that is faulty? i have bought a new set of relays today and will replace them all tonight when i get home and see from there. the foglamps are brand new with new bulbs.

      Let me know if the relay fixes it. Was the fuse burned out that you changed?

    It would have been helpful to comment on if relays breakdown. If they do does the item it is connected to stop working?

      They can stay stuck on or off. It’s like a light switch being on or off

    Can you talk about trouble shooting the convertible top?? Maybe which fuse controls it

      Other than checking the fuse and relay, I don't have too much info available. Have you seen 5.0 restoration's videos? ua-cam.com/video/WDFxJ3kSbyE/v-deo.html

      Your owners manual should actually tell you that when you check the fuses section it describes exactly what each fuse powers

    I'm putting air horn on my truck and I want to use a 40 amp fuse instead of the relay and use the switch for the ground. Is this safe

    Hi. im actually making a project which involves the fuel pump fuse.I watched a video wherein the guy took out the fuel pump fuse which made the engine to turn off. Do you perhaps know about the connection between the fuel pump fuse and the fuel pump itself?

    • @David.lovesU
      @David.lovesU 6 років тому

      Jeremy Rubio you also have a relay for fuel pump relay under steering wheel or behind glove box

    I have a RX 300 in the DRLs stopped working,(The highbeams are the same bulb is the DRL and they still work, the DRL fuse is fine and I pulled the relays out independently and sent power to them from a 12 V plug And they each clicked, however there is no power going to the DRL FUSE, but This truck has three DRL relays God knows why... I looked at the wiring diagram and it makes no sense,The power goes from the ECU>>to 1 of those the relays>> then to the fuse>> then to the next to drl relay its weird What do you think there really isn't giving the power of the fuse? I'm trying to figure out if the relay powers the fuse or vice versa because the diagram made it seem like both do

      I’m having a similar issue, did you ever find out if the relay feeds the fuse or the fuse feeds the relay?

    does a fuse regulate power in any way?

    • @dannyjohnsonsgarage
      @dannyjohnsonsgarage  6 років тому

      BrianVISION In a way it will, but the result is you blow the fuse. It will not control power other than blowing out

    Sorry, still not getting it. No one seems to be able to explain WHY relays are necessary, and WHEN they should be used (and conversely, when they are not necessary).

    • @NinuRenee

      from what i gather - fuses prevent excess power and relays give excess power.

    • @marcv.5574

      Relays regulate where current goes. Fuses prevent the device receiving current from breaking this saving you money in repairs. The reason why they are needed is because without them you'd be replacing parts worth hundreds of dollars and it allows current to always be delivered at the press of a button/switch. Example. Your boiler is always on; True?
      Your faucet isnt always spewing hot water though, is it? Think of the relay as the pipes connected to your faucet and think of the fuse being the boiler and the current is the water.

      @@marcv.5574 it sucks i have to read this a couple times to try and understand more lol. I over think most things.
      Why do some vehicles have more than 1 fuse box, some with the fuses?
      And if that doesn't fix the problem with the fuses and relays could it be the whole fuse box itself?

    Hallo
    If i remove the ABS-Fuse , will the whole traction system stops ?

    • @dannyjohnsonsgarage
      @dannyjohnsonsgarage  5 років тому

      most likely. When the abs goes out it also takes the traction control in most cases
