- There exists on UA-cam a strange search term that, when used, returns a seemingly endless string of mysterious random videos from all across the site's history. In this mini-episode, let's take a look at why 'My Edited Video' holds such a unique place in the UA-cam ecosystem.

Running the "my edited video" experiment really shows what a sorry state the search page is in right now. I got one video with that title and many that are not that

I got ones with those words in it, to search for the exact phrase you need to put quotation marks around it
An origin (not THE origin, but one of the origins) of the logo thing comes from a UA-camr named Kyoobur9000, who did (and still sometimes does) experimental edits on random logos. That somehow became really popular and lo and behold, 13 years later, lots of logo editing channels galore. I actually used to be a part of that, making my own logo edits on a bizarre channel called “Charallony6000”, but I’ve moved on from that years ago. Confusing titles are probably part of when the logo editors make their own name for a certain visual + audio effect (e.g. “G Major”, “I KILLED [name of logo in all caps]”). However there’s been so many of these effects (and spin-offs of these effects) that sometimes the titles of the logo edits can be confusing, for example “Klasky Csupo Logo Enhanced with G Major 69”. Also, amazing video as always!
I also used to do those types of videos back in the day and remember watching a lot of these videos until I lost interest, I never understood why I was so fascinated by them when I was younger, they’re just so odd. Funnily enough I still have an interest in logos but moved on from the childish edits and more into the historical aspect of it, it also became a sort of side interest rather than a main thing (overshadowed by movies, games and technology). Heck most of my first few online friends (which some I still talk/have contact to them to this day) mostly came from the logo community. Logos was probably the first time I ever got an interest or even got into an online community in my life, and I feel confused but fascinated that it was the case.
i never really involved myself deeply in the logo community but i was always quite interested in the videos growing up,. so i can attest on to this-
i think it was definitely more about the effects than the logos themselves, seeing how they'd change the audio and the visuals. definitely seems like its mostly something to do with being on the autism spectrum; i'm autistic, many people i know who were more deeply involved than myself are also autistic, and looking at the comments sections of videos that explore so called "rabbit-holes" like this also proves the fact
kyoobur9000 definitely wasnt the first, but he was a pioneer in many respects, uploading individual logo effects, rather than in "logo super effects" compilations, and also creating unique combinations, but it is around the early 2010s where this whole thing really took off- alot of people assume this is some "creepy" or "weird" type of ordeal, when its really not that exciting, just a load of kids making things

Very good video as always, I love hearing about phenomenons like this. It reminds me of another interesting youtube rabbit hole where you can find an absolute heap of obscure home videos and other oddities if you look up IMG followed by any 4 digit number. Because this is the default file naming format for a lot of videos you find hundreds of videos from people who never bothered to change the name
Another one I like to do is searching up the default names various cameras give videos recorded with them, I keep a whole note pad document of all the ones I've found, and I add to it decently often! unfortunately there isn't really a publicly available list of that kinda stuff that I've found

Probably because "My Edited Video" is some kind of default title in a editing program, or on UA-cam, and people who don't bother to give their video a title are statistically more likely to upload weird videos.

As a 2015 OG, this was fun and useful when i was a child, but however this feature was way older
although people knew how to edit their own videos thats why google had completely removed it.
but its so satisfying to see all the videos with the same title reach to the algorithm and get the video

Finally, someone has done a video on this mysterious stuff! I used to enjoy looking at these for some reason, and I still do! I would also like to see somebody that's good at looking at these types of videos to make a playlist of some notable videos that appear in THESE edits. Also, for some reason, I get a sort of nostalgic feeling from these videos whenever I see them now. (By the way, my mom doesn't enjoy these edits because she says they don't give any information that your brain can actually process, which DOES make sense.)

Woah, towards the end of your video that shakey UA-cam video graphic, if you scan your eyes left to right as it animates it appears to stop shaking and you track the lines moving across. It’s kinda like how cameras taking video of propellers or something rotating fast appears distorted. Just a random little optical illusion I kind of freaked out about when I first saw it.

I just searched my edited video, first without quotes, then with quotes, both times your video was first, and the first time without quotes it listed editing video tutorials on premiere pro (would make sense based on my history) and the 2nd time with quotes, after your video, was a beavis and butthead clip listed 2nd, and then after that, I THINK is the series of videos you'll address in this video.. I can't be sure because I haven't watched it yet.
Someone probably has already mentioned, but because of the way some cameras/phone cameras work, looking up "IMG" and then a few numbers results in really interesting results too.
I remember seeing a small channel make a compilation video, with hosts and everything a la "America's Funniest Home Videos", but with these weirrrd "IMGs".

for some reason when i first searched and watched the video "my edited video" i didint want to watch all of it but for some reason the first emotion that it sparked in my mind was: "fear" probably because of the fact that this was like, this type of video. y'know? but also cause i slightly thought was cursed.

Funny, I got different results. It was mostly videos that had titles about editing for youtube. I tried searching using quotes around the phrase and got more results, but still only a few.
My results were mostly just videos about video editing.

What you're seeing by searching "my edited video" is almost like taking a trip back in time to what you would see on UA-cam back in the 2005/2006 early dayd, before the Algorithm started pushing branded influencer content to the top and everything else to the bottom. Random home movies, barebones basement-style content, pirated movies...it's a chance to see what UA-cam content really is, and always has been, rather than the surface layer that we're programmed to watch.
