This song has got to be the nearest one can get to perfection. Classy, elegant and moderately paced. Beautifully arranged backing, from drums. keyboard and saxophone.
I have to admit I never heard this song, I really liked it. Super Cool video! Great Memories this song holds for you, of you and your sister singing. Those Wonderful childhood Memories... aren't they grand? Nice work Dave... I really liked it! Thank you for sharing! 💖
I thought it was a minor hit in America; but it reached #43 in early 1979 so that may explain why you hadn't heard of it. It was huge here and Britain and South Africa according to Wikipedia! Yes some songs transport right back to an immediate moment, or an event, or a season - quite visceral and somatic in that way :)
Dave: Hi, I always loved this Marshall Hain 'Dancing In The City" song! But it only reached #43 in America and I never heard it on the radio except when I played it as a DJ. I have the great album and Kit Hain solo album and the 2 albums of Eye To Eye including Julian Marshall. I love Judie Tzuke but she had no US success and almost no US releases even. Sorry if you are mad at me about correcting you about the US statistics and release times of Abba's "Does Your Mother Know" and "Chiquitita." Great to get to know DJ Tony through you, thanks!

This was my favorite morning before going to school in 1979. I heard from VOI or ABC that was very well transmitted in the mid of Bali.
1977 ans 1978 where the most innovative years of Pop Music in the 70's.
Best version I heard so far. Same year as Jean Michel Jarre Equinoxe album.
I think Jean Michel Jarre Equinoxe was one year before in 1977?
Love, love, love it !!!!! 😊❤ Xxx
thanks Sarah. cheers; Dave
I love this song too. It remembers me to my youth. 👍
a real stand-out from 78, for the time, it was so pop and cool and unlike the disco and rock hits of the time.
very true!

The beginning sounds like assault on precinct 13.....love it
I always thought my preference for GFs in the 80/90s was down to Kate Bush, yet the answer is here for all to see. 😍
