So because of this video I watched gamera: guardian of the universe today and was blown away. I always intended to try gamera and would always forget. Thank you for reminding me and giving me the kick in the pants to seek it out. Excited to watch the next film tomorrow.
Dude, I’m so glad that this video inspired you to check it out finally! The sequels are also fantastic, with the final battle in 2 being a personal ALL TIME fav! Same goes for the opening battle in the 3rd film 🔥
great video! it was very enjoyable to see you shopping for toys! I will vote for the Toro (Carnotaurus)! we have a lot of Jurassic World toys in the USA like you said, and its hard for me not to walk out with a new dinosaur in hand most times I go out shopping. that Bandai Movie Monster and Ultra series aisles would be so dangerous for my wallet. I wish we had stores sell those on shelves here in the states! there are quite a few I'm missing that I'd rather not pay overseas shipping costs for haha! edit: also the band at the end was really cool! they sounded great!
Love ❤️ videos like this! You have over the past 2 yrs made me actually want to visit Japan but goddam those stores are effin sensory overload...kinda in a good way but I would not want to be in them for more than an hour lol😮
My friends are in Japan for the past 2 weeks and is coming back today and they found me a DX Daizyujin in Mandarake with parts I was missing on the one I own for like $60 so I got them to buy it for me. I have a feeling that if I actually went with them, I'd probably need a new luggage and maybe an extra $10000 lol cause I probably would have done so much shopping in Mandarake looking for vintage stuff.
Yeah, that's accurate. First time I went to Japan I had one big bag with me and a small carry on bag. Coming back I had two big bags, one roller bag and my backpack all full to weight capacity. I also had my camera around my neck with the biggest lens on and my jacket stuffed full of heavy but small things. All in all probably close to 80kg of stuff. Was a pain to carry up the stairs at the train station but no regrets! XD
They only had one Dragon Ball toy, I actually filmed it - but it was kind of sad. Other shops have more. I did show a few Naruto - they dont sell much Naruto stuff these days.
I loved Camp Cretaceous. Just one issue with the show. Sammy and that frikkin flowery top. She wears the damn thing throughout the ENTIRE series. FFS, they even put her in the SAME top, months AFTER they leave the island. I damn near pissed my pants when they showed her, still wearing that damn top! 🤣🤣🤣
Did any of the characters chage clothes? I cant remember? I thought they all pretty much wore the same thing throughout, even once they got off the first island.... hmmm - anyway!! 🤣
@@TOKYOTOYBANZAI LMAO! I'm not 100% sure about the others. Perhaps one or two had an outfit change after they left the island? DEF not Sammy! Of this, I am certain. That top annoyed me for some reason. lol When they left the island, I thought, "FINALLY! Sammy can change out of that manky, gawd awful top!" What makes it even odder is the fact that wardrobe cost isn't an issue with CGI. 🤣
When is Bandai gonna make sofubi of the angels? There's already a ton of different options for the Eva units. Also, when are we getting a Misato figma?
Bandai actually do a couple Angles around a decade ago. Sachiel and the reish one with tentacles. I'd expect them to do some more if these Eva units sell well enough. As for a Misato.... 🤷♂
Lol, I'd definitely only want one of each. I do remember that they made a highly posebanle Emdoraptor a few years back, so I'm wondering how this one compares... also saw another version sold in the USA in this same repaint color format. Toro would be cool to have since I have the entire Camp Cretaceous toy line, EXCEPT him... but I need to get rid of one of the half dozen T-Rex's I have to make room for it :P As for the people on the speakers, they are kind of like carnival barkers - shouting out all the deals going on. Pretty standard for a weekend at Bic Camera.
@@TOKYOTOYBANZAI #toycollectorproblems lol Now I'll probably check that Netflix show. Waiting on Gamera to be up so I can binge Ultraman S2 and 3 then Gamera
@@Wayo. defintely check out Camp Cretaceous! Once you get past episode 2, you'll be binging it just like I did (originally thinking it would be too "kiddy" for me).
I'm curious to know if there's still Terminator and Alien and Predator toys that are cool that you can buy there...more modern stuff I should say It would be cool to see a video on that also anything Clockwork Orange 🍊 related
@@TOKYOTOYBANZAIHow about a regular series of cool Gashapon releases (Godzilla / Thunderbirds / Votoms etc.) ? - we only get to find out about these when they're finish and sold out😢!!(((
there are multiple Bic Camera locations in Shinjuku - but honestly, Yodobashi Camera is often a bit better for toy hunting. The best one is in Akihabara. Worth checking out both.
@@OhhhG44 if I am able to find another one - also have to factor in the insane shipping cost. You might be better off searching for one on Mandarake's online store - they offer international shipping from Japan and you won't have to pay taxes (which I would have to pay here)
"I'm not a pokeman guy" you don't say. But are you a Pokémon guy? (poké being short for pocket and mon being short for monster = pocket monsters = Pokémon)
lol - I do enjoy a pocket size sized monster, but not an overly cute one that incessantly repeats its own name 🤓 In the video I talk about how the idea for Pokemon was essentially taken from Ultraseven's "Capsule Monsters" in 1967 - and how the creator of Pokemon's original pitch concept included a Pokemon that was a combination of Godzilla & Biollante 😉
Thanks for the video. Japanese toy stores are so much cooler than what we have here. Love the steak robot. Endoraptor for sure. Buy it!

This video rules, I’d love to see more modern toy hunts too! It’s awesome to see what’s currently in stores over there. Thanks for this!
Thank you! I actually posted part one to a modern toy hunt video last weekend and will have the other half up soon :)

Cheers for the vid Jezza, much appreciated!
Omg I need that steam train and stag beetle that combine into some horrific Evangelion monster thing! 😱
I love and appreciate this video, good spot to get toys.
i wanted to see the amiibo, sonic, dragonball, naruto toys that may have -- but i will have to check a Bic store out myself while im in japan!

It does this month. If you join the Patreon :) I love those weird transforming abominations too.
I'd be willing to buy up cheaper to you JP stuff here in Indiana in exchange for that kick ass Godzilla and Kaiju stuff at some point

Not really, just stuff imported from the USA. There were recently a couple series of Predator and Alien gashapon figures. Nothing too amazing though.
