Akureyri Sadness for Flute, Violin, Viola and Violoncello, 2009.
In 2009, she decided to cycle around Iceland with a friend. At some point they reached Akureyri, took a break there and we started communicating by email. She in the local library, me on my laptop in the Highmatt. These and other emotional moments gave rise to this little composition, which was played and recorded by flautist Klaus Durrer with fellow musicians in the dressing room during an orchestra break in Lucerne. She then moved from Iceland to Amsterdam, where I presented her with a recording of this music for her twentieth birthday. Those were the days.
Im Jahr 2009 beschloss sie, Island mit dem Fahrrad zu umrunden, zusammen mit einer Freundin. Irgendwann erreichten sie Akureyri, machten dort eine Pause und wir begannen per E-Mail zu kommunizieren. Sie in der örtlichen Bibliothek, ich an meinem Laptop in der Highmatt. Aus diesen und anderen emotionalen Momenten entstand diese kleine Komposition, die vom Flötisten Klaus Durrer in einer Orchesterpause in Luzern mit Mitmusikerinnen der der Garderobe gespielt und aufgenommen wurde. Aus Island zog sie dann nach Amsterdam, wo ich ihr dann eine Aufnahme dieser Musik zu ihrem zwanzigsten Geburtstag überreichte.
