my native is swedish and i often mix english into it. thankfully everyone knows english so it doesn’t create a problem. i know a bit french so some days i only remember certain words in french and then it could be a bit harder since only my mom knows it. i think that’s a problem for many multilingual people.

I really don’t like people who make fun of others because they make mistakes in a foreign language...
I am actually really harsh on myself too... I have lived in Korea for 6 months now and today I did not understood a sentence in a conversation and I was blaming myself saying that I am just stupid... Instead of thinking that way thanks to your video I am now proud that I actually had a full conversation only in Korean and that it is a huge progress and I should be proud, thank you 🤍

Sissel, I am a Korean viewer and I watch both 시슬이야기 and this channel. Every time I watch your Korean channel, I was always amazed at how you try to make the effort to make the film in Korean. And it really showed your warm attitude dealing with new culture and language and I could see from your film how much you respect them. TBH I was very thankful of you in a way. Also, I'm sure it wasn't just me because I've seen so many comments from 시슬이야기complimenting your Korean and your positiveness. The reason I'm bringing up this is to tell you that you are doing such a great job, not many could have done the things you've done like grabbing your opportunity to come to a completely different country and taking challenges for your dream. I truely envy you!!!!
So do not care about the trashy gossips because as you probably know already, there are and will be haters everywhere and it's them who is wasting their time making up false gossips.
Wish you keep that positive energy and always remember that there are so many viewers (both korean and international ) who love your contents so much!!😍😀

It's so pointless to bash someone for their language skills when they're in the process of learning it!! I mean - it's stupid regardless, but so incredibly meaningless when they are only going to make progress

KSL ive learnt this firsthand living in quebec! most people are lovely but the ones who criticize just make you more scared to try! 😅 edit: french and english are a bit of a political topic here so it can make it really awkward for those of us in the learning process!

The fact that you can speak more languages is such a talent in itself and blessing when someone is being nasty or making funny comments because you can’t speak it the way they perceive it should be I don’t get the point of people bashing others the fact you even try I would be so impressed if someone was learning my native tongue I would be thinking wow they love my culture that much they want to learn the language I would think that’s so cool and have so much respect for them . So I really don’t see the point of people hating on others for attempting something this world we live in is nasty because of humans themselves . we should learn to be more kind and accepting of one another and appreciate our differences as well as common interests . You are doing your best Sissel keep it up beautiful ❤️

(btw you speaking in Danish is so calming)

English and Korean are both not my first language, and I'm really happy to see you sit down and talk about being multilingual. I used to and sometimes still do feel really ashamed or embarrassed when I make a mistake speaking in English or Korean, but now I try to remind myself that having only lived in the US for three years and having an American accent in English, and having no accent speaking Korean when I learned it all by myself, all these in of themselves are amazing and I should be proud of myself for putting effort into learning other languages:) Thank you Sissel, you truly are such an inspiration to me, and don't listen to those comments because you are so much better, stronger, and more amazing than that and if they can't see it it's their lost. Keep doing what you do, I will support you all the way, love you lots!~

Norwegian here, obviously fluent in Norwegian, and thanks to our school, fluent in English as well, I can totally relate to the "problem" (if I can call it that) of mixing up languages, especially now that I'm also learning Korean by myself. I also totally agree with you about being proud of knowing more that 1 language, even if you're not fluent. The fact that someone has put down time and effort to sit down and learn a completely new language that may not even be similar to your own, is very admirable! Everyone knowing more that 1 language, even if not fluent, should be proud of themselves! You should never apologise for not being fluent in a language that is not your mother language, you should be proud that you have taught yourself another language and that you have put time and effort into it, knowing it well enough to be able to communicate with someone. You don't have to be fluent in a language to be able to communicate, people will understand you.

Hi sissel! I am speaking french as my mother tongue, and then english, i understand Spanish but forgot how to speak it, and i am currently learning korean.. I wanted to thank you for this video, and i have always been kinda inspired by you, showing and talking about your insecurities and your "lacks" or your "weaknesses" (depending on point of vue, of course), and it makes me loving my owns, like being okay at being-not-so-good-at something, or being-on-way-to-better-at something else..

Your videos are so relaxing and aesthetically pleasing to watch. I 100% agree with you regarding speaking multiple languages. Kudos to you for being multl-lingual - it's no easy feat to transfer from one language to another so quickly too!! My mother language is english but I was born into an Italian family so I speak both languages - by choice, I've formally studied Japanese and now I've begun to self learning Korean. Learning new languages has opened the world up for me - making new friends and being able to communicate when I visit these countries makes me feel good. I also have the habit of prefacing my sentence before speaking/writing with "Excuse my poor speaking skills...." Whether I'm fluent or not, people always seem to appreciate my attempt with encouraging comments - & they understand me enough to converse it seems :)

Sissel thank you so much for this video and for your thoughts on learning languages, immigration and being proud of where you come from. Me and my mum came to the UK when I was 9 and I also struggled with the same thoughts and acceptance. I would always be afraid of meeting new people and inviting people to our house in fear of them judging our English, especially my mum's who was self taught. Now I'm really proud to tell others how much my mum sacrificed for us to have a good life and I think it's amazing she learned English by herself without any tuition. Your words really brought a tear to my eye as it hit very close to home. They were honest, true and sincere. Please don't listen to the negative people, they have nothing else going for them so they want to bring others down. At the end of the day you know your life best and how you should live it to its best potential so please don't let them affect you. I have my own experiences of people on Twitter cyber bullying me for no reason at all so I can relate to you. The best way is to tune it out and let them speak in their vacuum where they can only hear themselves. Please keep shining and always be the positive source of energy that you are. Thanks for all your hard work on youtube, I feel more at peace watching your videos. Take care Sissel 💗

Istg there's something different about your vlogs!! They just feel so cozy and wholesome :D I agree with your opinion on knowing more languages 100%! I speak croatian, english and have been learning german for 7 years now. I used to be so bummed out because of my english and german ("I've been learning them for so long, but I'm still not fluent enough...") and so on, but I realized that I'm not completely fluent in croatian too, even if it's my native language. There's always space for improvement, and that shouldn't stress us out, but excite us! ❤

Another beautiful masterpiece that you have created 💕✨
Honestly, everytime you upload a video, it truly makes my day. Also, I read a quote earlier today and this goes out for anyone who needs it,
"I am not what You think I am. You are what You think I am."
I don't know whose quote this is originally from, but I feel like people needed to hear it, especially you Sissel. I am fluent in English and Japanese, a little bit of Spanish, and am slowly starting to learn Korean. Mixing up words and languages is totally natural, especially if you are in the process of trying to become fluent!
Keep that confidence girl, and don't ever let anyone drag you down, especially if they don't know you and can't consider how much work and effort you put into your work of passion💖 Everybody learns and grows differently, and if they can't see that, it's their loss for being mean and ignorant👍

Its so nice, I m from an area of Spain where spoke two languages every day, Spanish and Catalan. I m learning English and i think the most difficult is begin to think in another language, but you make it and make it easy. I enjoyed watching your “danish” video, thanks for your time, is always a pleasure take time with you. Biiiiig kisses from costa brava. By the way, a lot of products you show in this video are from Spain, so proud... jajajjaja 😘😘😘😘😘😘😘

dont mind the negative comments sissel! first of all you're trilingual, that in itself is already a great thing. second, learning a new language when you're already old enough isn't easy! it's not like learning it when you were a kid because our brains just don't pick up a new language that easy. i'm trying to learn a third language myself and it's hard given that i have to juggle school stuff along with it as well. considering you're doing youtube, working on your own skincare brand, and doing whatever else behind the scenes that your viewers dont see, you're reaaaaally doing a great job!

Its crazy that u pointed it out this "sorry for my english", because everytime I tried to write something or comment anything in english, Ive wrote this sentence in the beginning. Looks like I feel some kind of pressure to speak it "right", or kinda apologizing for something. After you pointed it out Ive really notice how sad its. Im brazilian, and here in Brasil most of the people dont speak english at all, and its a huge country, theres so many dialects and aways of speaking portuguese, and it has such a beautiful, diverse, multicultural culture, that its so sad to see me and other diverse and amazing people from all over the world, apologizing for not speaking english "right". Thank u for that, Sissel, your words felt like a warm and sweet advise from a close friend! Thanks for being so light and kind

i was just thinking to myself how lucky and proud i am to be able to speak three language fluently (italian and chinese are my mother-tongue and english)! even though i struggle with switching up between them and sometimes i start to mix them all together, i feel like that’s inevitable when you have so much more information going in your head! people who think they have the right to judge how other people speak should just shut the hell up, they are just petty and want to find something to pick on to, which is absolutely ridiculous.. i really loved this video, you should definitely do more when you feel like it! ❤️❤️

First of all, I love this vlog, I love people speaking in their first language and danish sounds really nice and cute! :)
Secondly you are completely right that you can be so proud of yourself for speaking multiple languages! Even if you might not be completely fluent, being able to express oneself is honestly already amazing! I speak german and english (kind of) fluently and am really bad at french and korean, but at least I am learning and trying to get better.
Remember that people on these gossip forums are just trying to find something or someone to hate on. Most of the time they are making completely useless points. You are amazing for what you do, keep it up! :)

oh sweetie! im so sorry you saw that garbage! try and keep in mind that only people who are hurting would want to lash out and make others hurt too, we should just feel sorry for them. you're such a beautiful lovely person and others can feel jealous or bitter about that, it's about them, not you 💖 dont feel bad about your korean! ive lived in montreal for 2 and a half years and im far from fluent in my french, but we'll get there eventually ☺️

This is exactly what I needed to hear.
Some people think that because you have an accent, you can't speak well the language and that's why sometimes I get really shy and insecure when it comes to speak in a foreign language because of course, I'm not fluent at all in any of the three languages I'm learning atm. But thanks to you and this amazing video, I've embrace my accent haha and I should be proud to have it 💚

I'm sorry for those people "badmouthing" you... unfortunately there will always be this kind of people around. Just know that they are just a minority and that the majority of us love and support you!! SO CHEER UP GIRL CAUSE YOU'RE AWESOME !!
Anyway, nice video as usual 🌻✨

It is so nice to hear you speak in danish. My family comes from the north of Germany and I can not speak, but understand our platdeutsch (low german) it is extremely similar to Danish and Dutch. And I am so happy that I could understand bits of what you were talking without knowing Danish. So interesting how similar these languages are.

Sissel, you are fluent in three languages. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise. Personally I envy you since learning a new language for me is extremely difficult. I studied French when I was younger and I know a few words in Spanish, Romanian, Russian, Japanese and German but my pronunciation only gets me laughs or confused looks. You being immersed in Korean society is helping you more than you might realize. I spent 10 days in Korea and my Korean was done mostly by pointing at things. Don't let the naysayers get you down and continue to enjoy life.

I've always loved how Danish and Dutch sounds like! Also, you look more at ease and comfortable in this video and for sure that's because you're speaking in your mother tongue! I'm currently learning French as my third language (English isn't my first language too) and after I go on intense study sessions, I tend to read things (like store names and food labels) in my head in French if that makes sense and I find that funny hehe 😅

Be proud beautiful being! You deserve much praise for succeeding on YT, launching your own skin care and also speaking several laguages. I wish I could speak Korean like you do!!!
I bet the people who had nothing better to do than criticizing your Korean, did not speak as many languages as you do, and probably did not achieve anything close to what you did.
But I need to also say that "fans", who think that it is a good idea to send you screenshots of gossip about you, are not good minded. I consider them being complicite. They should be ashamed.
Well anyway, please know that there are people who admire your work and talent. Do not let anyone bring you down. Take care

If you choose to watch the dubbed version, you will miss a lot of content that is hidden in the language. It reminded me of what you said that when you speak Danish it feels more like the authetic you. And btw I would love to hear more in Danish!

It was so much fun to watch you speaking danish. Every second sentence or so you said I could recognize some words in Russian, Germany and English. Cause I were born in Ukraine and have been raised in Germany so I speak German and Russian fluently. And through my school years I got my English almost on that level as well. Now I am studying Korean too and I know how hard and time taking it can be. So don't mind this people who have nothing better to do than spreading false rumors about you. You're doing an amazing Job ♡♡♡

I'm multilingual as well, I really don't understand why anyone would think to put someone down for speaking multiple languages??? Speaking more than one language is so hard and people should be proud for that - even if none of those languages isn't a "universal" language.
Anyways, hearing you speak Danish is actually just so lovely~
    Please do more Danish-speaking videos!!
