I'd like to know what you have to be at iso and aperture in order to get an exposure with that light in the softbox... as well as how fast your battery is draining using it as a constant light

Love the b10s continuous light combined with a soft box or beauty box, the only downside is using it as a continuous light will eat through the battery very quickly.

If you use the b10 plus you can keep them plugged in while using them

The b10 can be used while plugged in as well

@@dogdad4069 @jonmiller I've heard that apparently the units will only draw from the battery, so while you can plug them in once the battery dies you'll need to allow it time to recharge. I still need to test this but that's what I've heard.

This video answered a question I had posted because I wanted to shoot stills and video using the b10 plus, so thanks for this, one question if you do not mind and that is what make and model of the gimbel were you using?

Hi Emily !~ Fantastic video combining the two. Super helpful and inspiriing. One question, what make and model is the gimbel were you using? Thank you so much.!~

Is the B10 fully functional with B10Plus when using both for the same shoot? Do they both sync up seamlessly with each other when using the Air remote and the app for iPhone?

Nice video and great images, Emily. Can I ask Emily, why do you prefer to use the softbox Octa over an OCF Beauty Dish? Thanks!

Hi Phil! Thank you so much! I wouldn't say I prefer one over the other (I have and shoot with both), it all depends on the situation. In the particular situation I wanted the softbox Octa because I think the light fall off is harsher with the BD. The Softbox gives a slightly wider, softer spread of light. Typically I choose the BD for tighter shots. Hope that answers your question. Cheers! E

@@emilydahl2706 Hi Emily! Thanks for answering my question, I really appreciate it. I completely understand why you use the Octa in that situation, I also like to shoot that way sometimes but using Profoto B2's but it's always good to reevaluate your work and technique from time to time, especially when you see images you love. I need to save up for some B10's so I and lose my B2 cables! All the best, Phil

Thanks very interesting - If you use the B10 for continuous light how long will the battery last - is there a provision for mains power.

In my experience, using the B10 LED modeling light does drain the battery faster, but usually will last about 30-45 mins on a full charge. The charger for the B10 can be plugged into the battery while in use, both charging and supplying mains power. If you have access to power and don't mind the cords, then that is the way to go.

'No need to change the light or build a new set up' Well.... yes you do need to do that if you want the video to look good. Looks very flat... Stills are better, you can retouch one frame in photoshop but doing a good video requires you to know how to light for moving image... And that is a very expensive make up light!

Sorry, but you'd get better images taking stills from the BTS video. Way overrating yourself and abilities here.

We love how Emily Dahl chose the right lighting to building up the set for her romantic turn of a century concept for both stills and video.
