This developer clearly has so much love for the STALKER series and gave us something fresh but inspired by the freeplay stalker mods like Anomaly, and also EFT (which is clearly inspired by the Stalker gameplay loop, but in a multiplayer way). It’s been so long since i’ve watched a Splattercat video, I think the last one was about some medieval survival type game (Don’t remember the name.) Life got hectic with college and moving out but now i’m back to a sense of normal. I saw this video pop up in my subscriptions so I gave it a click. When I straight away heard “What’s up guys and gals, welcome back to the nerd castle.” The amount of nostalgia that hit me was like a wave and took me back to those early years of comfort, glad to be back ✌️
I've been tempted to try this game for some time and just haven't yet pulled the trigger (no pun intended). It looks like a pain in the ass sometimes but a lot of fun. Thanks for keeping it on my radar, Splat!
29:49 Val and Vintorez were my favorite guns in original STALKER due to working real quiet and head-shoting late game enemies somewhat easily but yeah, scary they actually do perform like that IRL
Not sure if this comment will become redundant as I continue watching the vid, but right now I'm watching the first couple mins and notice that you don't know about the new range mechanic. You have to look at the crosshair when you shoot. White means you'll get a normal hit, red/pink means you'll get a glazing shot(essentially just a fraction of the dmg you can do), and a red 'x' means that the shot will do no dmg. The range of the different colours depends on the weapon classes. It really is redundant hahahaha. Well, I'll leave this up anyway incase anyone looking to get into the game wanna read this. Also, small tip for anyone who doesn't know yet: putting your crosshair on the enemy directly increases your accuracy slightly
The fact that ZERO Sievert was made in GameMaker, which isn't known to be the best game engine as you quite literally have to make the lighting, particles, physics, etc by yourself is honestly so impressive. It really just shows that it's the user, not the tool
@@EpsilonNPC That game can get wild, and I love it for that. You can try to find some toilet paper and get in the middle of a fight with wildlife vs Green Army vs Bandit vs Crimson Corp vs Hunters vs Loners, with fire anomalies in the middle.
Baiting enemies into another faction is a tried and true tactic. I once had a VIP target and strafed all the way into a green army camp as I had no AP rounds to punch through his and his goons' armor. Guy had 2 bodyguards with kitted out AKM's and he had an AS VAL which carried my run for a good while.

I love the idea of this game and kinda wish they’d make StoneShard with this survival and extraction aspect. A top down 8bit medieval extraction game would be so fun. And of course I REALLY think they should do like Hell is Others and add a multiplayer/pvp mode as well. Single player certainly has its place but it’s always fun to spice it up with online pvp. Or even a full on MMO version like StalCraft.

As a russian viewer i want to rectify, 9*39 can not pierce an armored car, and have awful dropoff which makes them horrible to hit latteral moving targets. The range is 400 meters tops, or 1200 bald eagles🦅 :)
Question for those who have played this: A couple times in this video Splat mentioned hearing things in the environment. Is sound like that a major part of success or more of just a slightly helpful part? I tend to play games while listening to other things, like having a video playing on the side, so is this more of a headphones on, pay close attention to noise kind of game or is that not crucial? - Thanks
VERY useful to have good sound awareness. There's some things out there that if you hear their footsteps from behind a wall, you won't want to go around the corner unless you got some powerful gear, and lots of ammo. Also, knowing which direction gunfire is coming from, and how much of it, will tell you where to go scavenge or which area to avoid.
Just like what @TheAzrai said. This isn't a casual, play while you listen to a podcast, kind of game. This is a lose your life in a split second because you weren't paying attention, kind of game.
If this was co-op I'd be all over it, but single player I just don't see myself getting super invested. Still seems super cool though, dev is making something awesome.
is it feasible to bring a separate high rad resistance, low armor suit to delve into irradiated areas? or no? I don't play this game but I've seen splat cover it multiple times so it's gotten me interested lol.
It's possible, but early game weight is a big limitation so you'll carry less loot. you can carry two backpacks with increased move speed or a lot of weight capacity tho, since they weight 0kg each for now.
Is it out yet? It’s been ages it seems. I’m done with early access games at this point. There are to many abandoned projects in my steam Library to fall for it again.
'Ignore that I just shot a guy, okay? I'M NOT A CRAZY PERSON-' Yeah! Yeah, buddy... you're not crazy... just gonna... walk over to this vehicle... to pee! Just to pee... no need to follow....' looool
Can someone tell me one thing? Can I join Crimson Corporation when the Green Army got me hired already? It kinda looks like I could, the game even tells me how much more reputation I need, but the thing is that the Crimson corporation doesn't accumulate after completing quests. Is that a bug or just some kinda stop sign for chosing both organizations?
Last time i played the game gave a warning before joining either faction that it will be permanent and can't be changed after that. Honestly idk beyond that.
Copy pasting my comment from the previous video + adding some things not straightforward that I'll point out: - If your cursor is red, you are not in the optimal range of your weapon/ammo. You should re-position. You can still shoot, but you need to have your cursor very close to the enemy (from what the dev said... I had good surprise with shotgun slugs myself) . *- when you reach level 9/10 on a skill, you unlock perks available on your PDA. that one is a bit too hidden* - Ammo penetration value is very important. *you will do no damage if your bullet is deflected by an enemy's armor*. you need 10 more penetration for each additional armor class (for example, a class 4 armor will be penetrated by 5.45*39-AP, but a class 5 will shrug it off. Of course you can also bruteforce the armor but good luck surviving that :D (it's doable). brown bandits are basically naked (except the boss at the center of the forest, be careful. He has class 4), and green bandits have a class 2 armor. characters with better armor look beefier (different sprites) - *You can cancel a daily quest you no longer want to do in the PDA (`J` key)* - Since the guns rework, shotguns have become really powerful if you don't panic. You can use buckshot at close range, and slugs at mid range are enough to one-shot some NPCs. I usually run endgame with a buckshot shotgun and a powerful bolt-action sniper rifle - Pistols are very ergonomic and you can switch to them very easily. they are also quite powerful on lightly/unarmored targets. - The weight of the weapons you carry in your equip slots does not count. you can swap your equipped tiny makarov for a bulky gun you don't care about and want to scrap - Building a workshop is an important milestone (allows you to repair stuff using metal scrap + weapon scrap). This means you can pick up a powerful weapon and repair it (such as the 9x39 gun from the forest boss, or a more common 7.62x39 AKM (ECM ingame)) - (Take this one with a grain of salt, I wrote it before the Networker gave good rep). ammo bench is good too. Also, use hollow point bullets on everything not armored (they are way cheaper to build/buy AND do extra damage). When you'll progress, you'll be able to craft AP bullets that are normally gated behind reputation / looting - There is a quest with 3 available rewards to pick, including NVG. Pick the NVG, they aren't sold before you have a big amount of rep with either Green or Crimson - when you create your save, you can customize some settings such as how much money the trader NPCs have, or the reputation increase scale (Bump these out up, it makes the game less annoying, and not really more difficult)
UI is a bit bugged, but I'm with SplatterCat on this one. This game has potential despite the bugs Guess I'll copy paste this again in 6 months or so :D
Bro idk if it's been updated since the combat overhaul but hunters are fkn OP. Walking theough the woods (which the trees won't disappear because of course) and get anihalated but a kedr hunter in one burst before I can even flick to the guy. Made it to the end of the game and still had a hard time dealing with the fkn vietcont hunters
I wish in games like this you could strip the guns down for parts or donate stuff you don't want to bases/factions to improve them. It'd increase your protection indirectly and improve your faction rating.
You can turn guns into scrap (used for making stuff) or you can take them to the mod table and (for many guns) take all the parts off of the receiver to put on different guns that those parts will work for.
Only weapons that were expressly designed for "assassination" can be called "assassination weapons". That is reserved for weapons designed for that, which are usually gimmicky, and obtuse. The VAL and VSS were both designed for Spetsnaz. There is a Forgotten Weapons video in which an actual Russian named Max Popenker, it's titled "AS Val, VSS Vintorez, OTs-14 Groza, and more: 9x39mm with Max Popenker". Check it out, it will explain the actual history of those guns, which has nothing to do with "assassination".

Zero Sievert reminds me a lot of 'Last Group Out'. Fun game, and with optional online play if you actually have pc friends unlike me lol
ThankYou SirSpla77
I wish they would add more content. It's been in limbo for a LOOOOONG time
This is such a good game.
good vid man, love that game.
Brilliant Art it reminds me of the Commodore AMEGA.
If this was co-op I'd be all over it, but single player I just don't see myself getting super invested. Still seems super cool though, dev is making something awesome.
Really wish I could play this on my Xbox or switch. Seems like the type of game that I would spend hours playing nonstop 🤧
I kinda wanna stop watching just to go play. But I will watch while its downloading. Lets go bro!
All I need for this to be a perfect game is steam deck support.
is it feasible to bring a separate high rad resistance, low armor suit to delve into irradiated areas? or no? I don't play this game but I've seen splat cover it multiple times so it's gotten me interested lol.
It's possible, but early game weight is a big limitation so you'll carry less loot. you can carry two backpacks with increased move speed or a lot of weight capacity tho, since they weight 0kg each for now.
Are you gonna cover KeeperRL's 1.0 release?
Love this game! All of the Tarkov with none of the cheaters or desync
Only 15k more subs till the million club let's do it splat
I love this game
Keep trying to get this running on my laptop been waiting to play😊
But i bet a pastrami sandwich has never let you down!!
I kickstarted it. That feels like forever ago.
God I wish thi sgame would come out on GOG. I try to never give Steam money if I can help it, but damn this one looks good.
Is there any reason to kill an enemy if you can’t loot them (due to load capacity)
This game is fun
Pastrami was Italian in your previous universe. Mandela Effect.
How playable is this on steam deck with deck controls? Or is this mouse and keyboard?
Is it out yet? It’s been ages it seems. I’m done with early access games at this point. There are to many abandoned projects in my steam Library to fall for it again.
'Ignore that I just shot a guy, okay? I'M NOT A CRAZY PERSON-'
Yeah! Yeah, buddy... you're not crazy... just gonna... walk over to this vehicle... to pee! Just to pee... no need to follow....' looool
Does it have controller support yet?
Why is the loot need to load first ?
Game is fun. Found it very hard but fun
The real question is - how many years?
thanks
Can someone tell me one thing? Can I join Crimson Corporation when the Green Army got me hired already? It kinda looks like I could, the game even tells me how much more reputation I need, but the thing is that the Crimson corporation doesn't accumulate after completing quests. Is that a bug or just some kinda stop sign for chosing both organizations?
Last time i played the game gave a warning before joining either faction that it will be permanent and can't be changed after that. Honestly idk beyond that.
there is another game like this but around a zombie experience, its called night raiders
Upvote for the name
Copy pasting my comment from the previous video + adding some things not straightforward that I'll point out:
- If your cursor is red, you are not in the optimal range of your weapon/ammo. You should re-position. You can still shoot, but you need to have your cursor very close to the enemy (from what the dev said... I had good surprise with shotgun slugs myself) .
*- when you reach level 9/10 on a skill, you unlock perks available on your PDA. that one is a bit too hidden*
- Ammo penetration value is very important. He has class 4), and green bandits have a class 2 armor. characters with better armor look beefier (different sprites)
- *You can cancel a daily quest you no longer want to do in the PDA (`J` key)*
- Since the guns rework, shotguns have become really powerful if you don't panic. You can use buckshot at close range, and slugs at mid range are enough to one-shot some NPCs. I usually run endgame with a buckshot shotgun and a powerful bolt-action sniper rifle
- Pistols are very ergonomic and you can switch to them very easily. they are also quite powerful on lightly/unarmored targets.
- The weight of the weapons you carry in your equip slots does not count. you can swap your equipped tiny makarov for a bulky gun you don't care about and want to scrap
- Building a workshop is an important milestone (allows you to repair stuff using metal scrap + weapon scrap). This means you can pick up a powerful weapon and repair it (such as the 9x39 gun from the forest boss, or a more common 7.62x39 AKM (ECM ingame))
- (Take this one with a grain of salt, I wrote it before the Networker gave good rep). ammo bench is good too. Also, use hollow point bullets on everything not armored (they are way cheaper to build/buy AND do extra damage). When you'll progress, you'll be able to craft AP bullets that are normally gated behind reputation / looting
- There is a quest with 3 available rewards to pick, including NVG. Pick the NVG, they aren't sold before you have a big amount of rep with either Green or Crimson
- when you create your save, you can customize some settings such as how much money the trader NPCs have, or the reputation increase scale (Bump these out up, it makes the game less annoying, and not really more difficult)
UI is a bit bugged, but I'm with SplatterCat on this one. This game has potential despite the bugs
Guess I'll copy paste this again in 6 months or so :D
This, Quasimorph and Stoneshard are my obsessions since you covered them. But I am waiting for 1.0.
Did you miss the part where you can scrap everything?
You can turn guns into scrap (used for making stuff) or you can take them to the mod table and (for many guns) take all the parts off of the receiver to put on different guns that those parts will work for.
Real life is full of all shades of bullshit and it's nice to be able to take a break from it
Thanks for making videos man
Yeah I really like this game thou I haven't picked it up yet it is next on my list for sure
Wanna get my mitts on this one... soooon
I'll never pay AAA price for a game that looks like it was made in the fallout 1 era but it looks fun.
$20 is aaa price?
