The point of the box question was to get an incorrect answer in order to prove that Daedra could be fooled. To ask the question of the Daedra who knows all would have likely gotten a correct answer, which would have defeated the purpose right?
For a resource i recommend Skyrim's Dragonborn expansion. Specifically, Neloth says this when asked what the Dwemer have to do with Black Books; "Forbidden knowledge was somewhat a specialty of the dwarves, eh? You don't think they would just leave it alone, do you?"
If tickles you mean your belly being stabbed by a large sharp acidic tentacle, then someone ripping out your soul while your flesh burns away? then yeah your about right.
"Once the Oghma Infinium has been used it will disappear from the possession of the reader". Or put it on a bookshelf then put it back in your inventory. Than you can use it as much as you want.
***** Sam Swarms It's all a matter of personal preference, gents. I, personally, don't mind the newer narrator, and the same held true for the old one. :)
I liked guy who narrated first ones, but just listen to this man. His voice is just EPIC. Sounds like professional voice-actor that you could actually hear in opening for some big budjet movie or game
PodCap24 Same here, the last one sounded like a guy who did his research out of passion of the series but this guy sounds more like a paid professional.
I didnt much like Hermaeus Mora pre DLC. but after visiting Apocrapha and delving deep into forbidden knowledge, I can safely say he is my favorite of all the Daedric Princes. exploreing Apocrypha is always so fun.
I just realized something, if Apocrypha is an infinite library of secrets and knowledge. Then somewhere in the realm could be information revealing the whereabouts of the Dwemer. Then again, there are limits to the contents Apocrypha. Still, I'd like to think that there may be some semblance of evidence in his realm.
***** The Skaal are a tribe living on an island off the coast of Skyrim. The Dwemer was an empire that spanned across Tamriel. I think Herma Mora's going to have an easier time getting Dwemer secrets than Skaal.
***** Indeed, it has been known for some time that they became the Divine Skin of the Numidium. I suppose some people never completed the Mages Guild in Morrowind. The Final Report to Trebonius might help explain the matter to those who do not understand.
Jack Somers If Morgan Freeman is the warm and comforting voice who assures you everything is alright, then the narrator of this video series is Freeman's arch nemesis. The dark and sinister voice who tells you that you'll never be truly safe.
Question of the Week: Hermaeus Mora is heavily influenced by Lovecraftian Horror; most notably, his tentacled form resembles various deities from Lovecraft's Cthulhu mythos. Of all the Daedric Princes we've had the pleasure, or displeasure, of meeting; which do you think looks the best? For example: Nocturnal, Azura, Mehrunes Dagon, Jyggalag, and so on. Hermaeus Mora is by far my favourite Deadric Prince. The reason for that is exacly the same as the one of why I'm seing this lore series in the first place. Desire for knowledge. And I also like things that are Lovecraft inspired.
Same here, now the big question is - Is he the one who changed to a less human form, or is he the only one that didnt change from his original daedric form ? ( Also i loved his voice in Skyrim, but hated it in ESO! )
***** Jyggalag's sphere is orderliness. And being Padomaic, his idea of order is that one of a void: this guy not only kept his "room" clean, he basically erased everything inside of it. Hence his once immense power, and the earned hatred of the other princes (who love keeping their realms busy and bustling with servants).
Well Lorkhan was originally a part of what would become the Aedric Pantheon and he was chaotic and rejected the status-quo whilst the other Aedra are more order-orientated. Perhaps Jyggalag may well have been the other way around by representing statis and rigid order in a pantheon that embodied pure change.
whatchachattin Similar but the grammar was more complex in Ancient Greek and the pronunciation was quite different. Modern Greek has no dative case, no infinitive and no middle voice.
Here's a little advice to you mortal... If you follow fox, it will guide you to a small treasure. Consider this as a gift before I will enslave you and the rest of this world
Not really Jyggalag and peryite are two example of daedra of stasis. If you look at the lore behind it, the daedra are more like more extreme versions of aedra, both being as chaotic or orderly as what they represent.
constant order brings a false sense of security, as well as bringing intense boredom, thus, unoriginality, what ever peryite's sphere is, brings weakness through condition, and in the long run, *some* of the aedra, divines, are in control of abiotic things....wind, time, ect., but i digress
Hermaeus Mora, man loved an hated him so much in skyrim, He plots to convince you that he owns you yet playing mind tricks, really cool. It's always cool to hear the players decision on how they can reject or accept a daedric's ideas.
My theory about Mora is that he does not actually control fate or even preside over it, he just has the ability to see all possibilities at once and manipulates events to bring about the outcomes that favor him. It would explain why he can be defied. As a daedra he is arrogant by his very nature and thus dismisses all the other possibilities where he comes up short. Either way, he's still probably the most dangerous of the princes.
You are true and wrong at same time.. But this is more complicated. We do all manipulate for our favor. I am God and so does He. We got little bit different ways to see this world.

Oh this is such an amazing, and chilling video, I love how you gave it such a lovecraftian feel. :) I love Hermaeus Mora, he's my favourite prince of Oblivion. :)
So after watching the first season and the half of this, I just have to say how amazing all of you are, I can see how much work and effort you put into this, to make it this amazing, and high quality show, and I love the narrators accent by the way, and I am just so amazed by how much you can find out and how good you tell it, thank you for making this amazing series!
It’s a shame nothing happens. Kinda wish they’d made a mechanic with the “Scholar’s Insight” effect that doubled the Oghma Infinium’s skills. As a sort of pat on the back to the player for being clever
Excellent episode, the art for Apocrypha and Mora himself was amazing! Looking forward to Nocturnal, the only Daedric prince I would happily serve for all eternity.
Really? Apocrypha? No Had no idea... haven't gotten that DLC yet or Dawnguard (sp?) I know it is usually footage that has been posterized but had no idea it was on that DLC... I must check it out! ( I fell behind on my X360 wishlist almost a year ago).
I'd like to start this comment by saying i love this series, and its truly fantastic! What I really want to say however is that it would be GREATLY APPRECIATED if somewhere in the future of TES lore series if shoddy cast would make an episode explaining the elder scrolls, and i mean the elder scrolls themselves. Ive personally tried to research this and am left more confused then when i started, being that there are conflicting opinions about what they actually are, or when and where they were actually created. I know that if anyone can set the record strait or even make sense of the confusion its Shoddy Cast! i would love to see that episode. keep up the amazing work guys!
Can't get enough of this awesome voice. I, personally, didn't experienced Game of Thrones in any way, but I definitely remember intro of movies. It's quite funny, how even without all those mechanical castles, scenes are very similar, but still pretty epic.
Of all the daedric lords to follow, I would follow Hermeus Mora. After all I would like to be educated by the person who knows everything about combat, magic, stealth, and strategy be for participating in such things.
Americk Seow I can see where you come from. However I plan to have a character with a little more or less complex story. Maybe you will hear about it, maybe not.
Apocrypha may have a lot of forbidden knowledge in it, but it doesn't contain all knowledge. Hermaeus Mora himself admits as much when he tasks the Dragonborn with convincing the Skaal to give up their secrets to him. Old Mora is continuously looking for more knowledge, secrets and prophecies to add to his library, and he'll stop at nothing to get them. It helps style himself as "All Knowing" and omniscient, when in reality, it's all about control. His mind games are what ensnare so many mortal fools into his service.
talking rabbit comes along and tells Ysgramor where the stag is. Ysgramor asks how the rabbit know where the stag is and not how the rabbit is talking. i know theres tons of magic shit in tamreil but all my time on nirn i have never heard a rabbit talk
heres a theory or you might have already figured it out lad. Ysgramor was in the presence of 2 deadra and A Aedra that entire story respectfully being Deer (Hircine) Rabbit (Hermaus Mora) and the Fox (Shor) respectfully imagine being in the presence of them and just being like "damne the animals are talking now....wow" Also wierdly enough there is a quest line in ck2 called "Hunt for the White Stag" idk if there is a connection or now but all i know is ima loving this lore.
Hermaeus Mora is like the creepy uncle of the Daedric princes lol. While Sheogorath is the fun, hilarious uncle. Mehrunes Dagon is like the asshole father, and Malacath is the frustrated, under appreciated middle child. Someone needs to make memes of these.
Nocturnal is next huh ? Hopefully since I hate how people fan-gasm over her/him, they actually mention that she has been one of the only princes to have her realm conquered and destroyed.
not gonna lie, mora is a bitch and you basically become his bitch after dragonborn, but when I first found him during vanilla skyrim I thought he was the coolest daedric prince in the game (I already knew I was being used), simply cause of his lines and voice: "Come closer, bask in my presence. I'm Hermaeus Mora, guardian of the unseen and knower of the unknown. I've been watching you..."
Super Master Of The Obvious 4 Show more respect with the true God, Mora have power to destroy those fake named Aedra, and I as his servant will bring Mora influence to all Nirn, and he will be worship forever, because if those fools Aedras try anything funny they will be killed by my blade.
I can't even begin to fathom why viewers prefer the other narrator to this one. That other narrator's voice annoys me to no end. This narrators voice is perfect!
+Super Man Yes and no. Think of Miraak as the guiding example here. There's nothing saying the Dragonborn must serve Mora from then on, but then again there was nothing forcing Miraak to serve Mora either. Miraak ended up serving Mora because Mora played Miraak's thirst for power against his reckless ego and arrogance leading to Miraak's true allegiances being discovered by his dragon overlords. In turn, Miraak had no choice but to serve Mora in return for Mora saving him from the wrath of the dragon's and their champion, the Jailor. Whether he can see the future as he implies or he's simply very clever, the unique thing about Mora is he relies more on cunning and his ability to manipulate people than on raw power or strict contracts, such as a Devil in DnD might do. The idea with the story of Miraak is to show the Dragonborn that, as powerful and unique as they are, there are some things beyond even their ability to influence and that they shouldn't put too much faith in their dragon abilities. Second, it shows the audience that Hermaeus Mora, one of the least seen Daedra up until now, may be significantly more powerful and active than we've been led to believe. Hope this was helpful.
if i could actually have free will in skyrim i would say screw both the empire and stormcloaks. I would become thane in all holds and would build a new organisation beginning in whiterun and declare myself as slayer of alduin, king of dragons, protector of skyrim and rightful heir of the imperial throne. The sons of snow as i would call the organisation would rally the holds to my cause. i would give the dragons 4 choices. meditate on skyrims peaks, flee to atmora, protect humanity and all it's allies, or fall to my thuum. i would send ulfric an axe as custom to challenge him to a duel for the name of high king. he would have no choice but to accept and from there i could ally with hammerfell, morrowind, highrock, and orcinium to battle the high elves. i would do as talos did and unite all of tamriel under a new dragonborn dynasty. i would do my best to teach honesty, humility, and honor to my people.
That is not technacly a dadric artifact im talking about wabajacjk, meruns dagger, skeleton key, dawn breaker, azura's star, ebony blade, gold brand, ebony mail, ring of narminia, ring of kajit u know those kinds
TheNutmeg33 The Staff of Everscamp is a Daedric Artifact of Sheogorath. This is from the Elder Scrolls wiki. now it is not as popular as some of the others but it is one none the less.
TheNutmeg33 I killed all of corral by using the turn undead spell on the Everscamp's they attacked a few people and I did not get a bounty then people started to attack each other in the streets even the Lord of corral was fighting some guards. I don't know if it was a glitch but I could do it in every city but the imperial city. It was pure madness!
***** I agree. You can tell that this British guy is just doing a job. I can't remember whether it was Kyle or Josh, but you could feel the passion in their voice. You could tell that they loved what they were doing :/
Not really. He's kinda dull and boring, much preffered old one. I have eventually got used to the one who does Fallout series at least he sosen't sound like he's almost falling asleep.
I like the new one since it fits the elder scrolls more perfectly. Kyle was an awesome narrator but this guy is better for the series. That's like saying, "yo what up my homie!, he says to King Arthur. The guards then dragged him away as he said, Why u gotta treat a brotha like dat!
TES has a ton of little HPL references. Sheogorath sounds Lovecraftian and is a little reminiscent of Shub-Niggurath. Oblivion had 'The Shadow Over Hackdirt' quest as well as 'The Sunken One' quest.
You can do the Sunken One quest at a place called Shetcombe Farm, which located just under the H in Kvatch on the world map. It's a cool little incidental quest.
Y'all at Shoddycast are amazing. You turn attention to the experience games can be, instead of kids just sitting in front of a blinking screen, ungrateful n ignorant
sebastiendog Well them Brits do have a way of getting themselves everywhere (no offense English people sorry) so i wouldnt be surprised i love Brits myself...
I still think Hermaeus Mora is probably one of the best, most powerful Daedric Lords. But honestly I just like hearing his voice actor in the game hahaha.
I like hermaous mora alot. his realm is just so fucking awesome, the black books have heart beats and pulse in green. it's so gloomy and surreal. I love it. Miraak is also a cool guy, I used to hate him when he was stealing my dragon souls, but he is actually cool and his voice acting is great.
Wish there were more on Hermeus Mora. Like how he influenced the dragon born on solstheim. Hopefully for the next one go into depth with Nocturnal and her nightingales.
Herma-Mora: "Here in my Apocrypha, just got this new champion. But you know what I like more than a loyal champion? Knowledge."

Interestingly apocrypha means hidden in Ancient Greek
Actually "απόκρυφα", is also a word in modern Greek and has the meaning of things unknown that are purposely hidden with great effort
modern and ancient greek are undoubtedly similar :P

Hermaeus Mora is obviously inspired by the Lovecraft books..
No kidding.
That's what I thought!

Could it be possible that Hermaeus Mora knew that there would be a Dragonborn in the 4E, and just used Mirak as a pawn in order to get to him/her.

I love this narrator, I want him to read all of the A Song of Ice and Fire books to me.
YOU SIR, IS A GENIUS!!
gamesandmovies100 You flatter me.
WEINER WEINER WEINER WEINER WEINER WEINER WEINER OOONNEE WEEEINER NEXT TO AAANOTHER WEINERRR.
Lorenzo Salazar Come again?
Darude-sandstorm
I love this series so much! The amount of lore in the Elder Scrolls is just amazing.
This + The Imperial Library = No more need for the real world.
Wait....So who the fuck was the fox?
my money's on Hercine
Could of been Kyne
hopefully we can go back in time and kill it in the next game. Time travel is possible in elder scrolls lore, right?
It was the only and mighty JZARGO!
You are wrong for JZARGO is all the deadric princes and the divines you just don't see it my friend.
May your road lead you to warm sands.
*such
Americk Seow I can see where you come from. However I plan to have a character with a little more or less complex story. Maybe you will hear about it, maybe not.
+Americk Seow What about Magnus?
What about the dutch?
@@Sporeboy87 Five years I forgot this comment existed until now. “Dutch” was supposed to be “such” but I screwed it up.
I love these, and the man who speaks during them. Great quality content, keep it up!
I'm always very tempted by the thought to shove a steel dagger in Herma's eye for some reason.
Pervert!
Very much love the writing. Coupled with the narration style, it yields a compelling tone.
Hermaeus Mora touched me.
Ysgramor was in the presence of 2 deadra and A Aedra that entire story respectfully being Deer (Hircine) Rabbit (Hermaus Mora) and the Fox (Shor) respectfully imagine being in the presence of them and just being like "damne the animals are talking now....wow"
Also wierdly enough there is a quest line in ck2 called "Hunt for the White Stag" idk if there is a connection or now but all i know is ima loving this lore.
These Lore videos get better every time great job guys :)
You know that the Daedric Prince Hermaeus Mora is best friends with Cthulhu.
These videos are unbelievably well done
"the oghma infinium dissapears after it is used"
......... haha suuuure
I really love this series and the fallout series, well done. Your efforts are bringing back my love for the games
Herma Mora is besides Sheogorath my favorite daedric prince.
You could never make such an expansive lore series with zelda because it's all over the fuckin place! Keep up the good work shoddycast :)
Wait a minute no one told me ty lopez is a daedric god
I love his realm. I hope in the next Elder Scrolls game we can explore more of it. I wish I could have a house there.
Nocturnal is next huh ? Hopefully since I hate how people fan-gasm over her/him, they actually mention that she has been one of the only princes to have her realm conquered and destroyed.
...so what?
I agree, everyone is obsessed over her beauty.
She's still a babe
Hayden Kohr
it's not about her beauty, it's about what she represents...
yet still, you cannot denie what powerful an artifact the skeleton-key is.
Finally a video on the most awesome Daedric Prince!
Fox = The Real MVP.
I love how they wrote hermeus mora at the beginning really good
0:10 But how do I get to the Heart of the Cards?
YU GI OHHHHHHHH
Tyler Jaynes kkkkkkk
Such an amazing idea for a series. I love this.
not gonna lie, mora is a bitch and you basically become his bitch after dragonborn, but when I first found him during vanilla skyrim I thought he was the coolest daedric prince in the game (I already knew I was being used), simply cause of his lines and voice:
"Come closer, bask in my presence. I'm Hermaeus Mora, guardian of the unseen and knower of the unknown. I've been watching you..."
If you finish the Transmuting the Mundane quest you still become his bitch too.
Spriggan Matron and? I never stated otherwise in my comment
Hunter Zolomon I didn't say you did. I was just mentioning it does happen. What, need to validate the usefulness in a comment? C'mon man.
Spriggan Matron peepee
Super Master Of The Obvious 4 Show more respect with the true God, Mora have power to destroy those fake named Aedra, and I as his servant will bring Mora influence to all Nirn, and he will be worship forever, because if those fools Aedras try anything funny they will be killed by my blade.
I can't even begin to fathom why viewers prefer the other narrator to this one. That other narrator's voice annoys me to no end. This narrators voice is perfect!
Is the Dragonborn after hermaeus mora killed miraak stuck serving hermaeus mora cuase he could kill the dragonborn at anytime????
+Anibal Morales In the lore it is assumed that you serve him afterwards.
Anibal Morales Thanks! But i never died in Apocrypha i have this challenge "Play on legendary no deaths no reload" just like real life :D
Wow this guys voice is relaxing, my cat and bird fell asleep while I watched this!
if i could actually have free will in skyrim i would say screw both the empire and stormcloaks.
This. Was. Impressive! Nice video! I'd be glad if you continue!
What is everyone's favorite dadric artifact? Mine is the ognum infirium
Everscamp Staff.
Yeah but all it does is make 4 ever scamps follow u
TheNutmeg33 I killed all of corral by using the turn undead spell on the Everscamp's they attacked a few people and I did not get a bounty then people started to attack each other in the streets even the Lord of corral was fighting some guards. I don't know if it was a glitch but I could do it in every city but the imperial city. It was pure madness!
Maybe is because I like books, maybe is because I like the "forbidden knowledge" theme... But he is my favourite Daedric Lord
Its Library Land! THE HORROR!!!!
LaserDroid reading isn’t that bad
Bah, kinda hoped they would do Sheogorath next time, but I'm not complaining about anything else ;) great series!
Who else likes the old guys voice
I miss the old narrator, they sounded like someone who actually played and loved the elder scrolls, not just some random old guy reading a script.
Not I said the goat.
I love Hermaeus Mora but, Nocturnal is my favorite Prince. Can't wait for next episode.
lovecraft much
TES has a ton of little HPL references. Sheogorath sounds Lovecraftian and is a little reminiscent of Shub-Niggurath. Oblivion had 'The Shadow Over Hackdirt' quest as well as 'The Sunken One' quest.
binarynightmare ill have to check that out, where do you start these quest?
***** tanks guy
You can do the Sunken One quest at a place called Shetcombe Farm, which located just under the H in Kvatch on the world map. It's a cool little incidental quest.
Y'all at Shoddycast are amazing. You turn attention to the experience games can be, instead of kids just sitting in front of a blinking screen, ungrateful n ignorant
Is the narrator a Spaniard by chance?
Close, he is portuguese
Saintcards I thought he was some sort of British or something... I don't know, weird accents.
sebastiendog Well them Brits do have a way of getting themselves everywhere (no offense English people sorry) so i wouldnt be surprised i love Brits myself...
He's British. Or at least he has a British accent
Hermaeus Mora has been my favorite Deadric prince since I first read about him in Morrowind.
I still think Hermaeus Mora is probably one of the best, most powerful Daedric Lords. But honestly I just like hearing his voice actor in the game hahaha.
Hermemeus morememes is my favorite meme lord. His archive of memes are unmatched.
Loving the series guys, its so awesome !!!! Keep it up :D
love the lore series keep up the amazing work shoody bros
I love this series! Please keep up the good work!
I am liking this format, much more impressive, and the narrator yes!
Love this series, KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!
These are of SUCH high quality...
Every night I put this on to help me go to sleep and I swear Im always out by the 9 minute mark.
Ha, Hermaeus Mora drives people insane thanks to his knowledge. Anyone else picturinh him doing a brofist (or brotacle on this case) with Sheogorath ?
"It's fun to learn, because knowledge is power" - Hermaeus Mora
Yay! Finally! Great series!
