You can't get any hotel / motel rooms for $50 USD in the USA or Europe, you might be able to get a flea bitten / smelly / run downed room in the drug infested / street walker / high crime area of most major US cities by the hour.

You should slowly adapt to be with a lot of people. I'm Malaysian, not used to it when I first in China but over the period I start to adapt and in fact I appreciate the crowds and blend with them. Don't use the perspective of what we used to live around but open our mind and observed what's happening around us (in China) and it will be interesting and fun
How can you master mandarin so well then figure everything out and travel all by youself so smoothly even you are just a college student!? Girl you must be really smart edit: just a little advice you can get a self stick so that would be less effort and awkwardness
