    The PCB used in the video is the last version before production, it is home made, that's why it looks like this ... A first batch of final PCB is in progress.
    Timeline :
    0:07 : Overview
    1:11 : Disk machining
    2:22 : Assembly
    6:46 : Homing
    7:45 : Test with P3D

      Hi Captain, thanks for your comment ! Your videos are also spectacular, I'm always impressed by your work and your experiments. I was very far from your talent when I was your age, you'll realize really great projects for sure. Yes I'm one of your subscribers since your beginning one year ago and I still continue to follow you. So many thanks for your last video with Air Manager, I'm not using it but it was very instructive and I'll probably give it a try. Good flights Captain !

    Je suis scotché par tant de talent ! On est plus dans la conception d’un simulateur, c’est un niveau au dessus, de l’art en somme...
    Quand je vois mes prototypes spaghettis sur la table je me dis que je suis bien loin d’en arriver là...
    Bonne continuation ! Je me réjouis de voir la suite !

      Merci beaucoup pour tous ces compliments ! Mais rassure-toi, on est tous dans le même cas. J'ai également mon lot de prototypes spaghettis, de circuits électroniques défectueux et de batailles acharnées avec le code pendant des heures ... Certains jours on recule plus qu'on n'avance, c'est comme ça. Mais l'avantage des vidéos, c'est qu'on ne montre que ce qui a marché ;-) Bonne continuation également à toi, au plaisir de te lire ou de voir tes avancées par mail.

    Brilliant work! So, you used a Hall switch and magnet in earlier videos - why did you change to an optical sensor here?

    • @Frederic_320
      @Frederic_320  Рік тому

      Thank you for your comment. The IR sensor is used because it looks to me more simple to integrate in this design (just a notch to create in the cylinder instead gluing a magnet on it). There is no electronic reason, both would work the same way.

    Great work!!! I am so impressed as always. Let me ask two question if I may. 1. Is that a CNC machine to engrave on a cylinder available on the market? 2. Have you found way to connect OACGW interface on FS2020??

    • @Frederic_320
      @Frederic_320  3 роки тому

      Thank you !
      1/ The CNC machine itself is sold as a kit by a great German company : "Sorotec" which manufactures high quality products. Deutsche qualität ;-) ... The fourth axis is a Chinese one, but does the job. But as the engraving is made on a resin cylinder, there is no need of a strong machine, I think the smallest ones could do the same.
      2/ I'm not using OACSP anymore since many years, the serial datas are sent by a LUA script I wrote myself (LUA interpreter included in FSUIPC). I didn't look at the FS2020 SDK yet and can't say if it's possible or not to extract flight datas to treat them externally. For now, I'm still working with P3D (waiting for the others to do the first steps for me !)

    • @strs9757
      @strs9757 3 роки тому

      @@Frederic_320 Merci! I will look into the CNC machine. Ok, you don't use OACSP anymore.. Since my software skill is so bad, I will never be able to make a new one by myself by just "grow on" someone's software will be best I can do... I checked FS2020 SDK briefly and also saw FSUIPC7 now can display offset values, I am still having a hope that the old OACSP still works in some way with FS2020. If you could share your LUA script in a tutorial just like you did a few years ago for OACSP, that will be fantastic. Have a nice day.

    Great video, very impressive! I'm a flight simmer (X-Plane 11) and a real ultralight pilot (Tecnam P92). During lockdown period I've built a C172 cockpit using Sim Innovations "Air Player" and Raspberry Pi for the instruments and in my cockpit is just missing a magnetic compass. I wish to "customize" this instruments for using with X-Plane 11, is it possible to receive more details about this project ? (Regarding PCB, programming sw etc.), or eventually its price if you sell. Thanks!

      Not sure, I think serial communication is UART. On the LUA side : I read offset using ipc.read, then send it to Arduino with com.write.
      On the Arduino side, I read the transmitted value with Serial.read().
