As an SMU fan, SMU Will shock could shock alotta people IF they do the little things right. Simple things like not fumbling at the mesh point on RPO/ Read Options, Not allowing blocked punts/field goals, and making easy field goals. If they can do those they have enough talent to beat everyone not named Florida State. If not they will still be a 7-win team.
As a UCF fan who just did this P4 transition last year, it’s not about how good your 1s are, it’s how good are your 2s and 3s. Did you guys beef up your Oline and Dline significantly this offseason? Injuries just killed us last year cause our 1s could compete with anybody, but 2s and 3s left some to be desired. My hunch (admittedly without knowing enough about SMU this year) is you’ll compete well in first two maybe three conf games and then go on a losing streak. Maybe yall finish strong, but I think a bad stretch in November is likely.

I think smu could very well be the 4th best team in the acc, Lashley is a really good coach with a solid roster for the p4
