*3:40** Trunchbull running towards Lavender like a bull is scary. Pam Ferris deserved an Oscar. She really looks like the original character in the book.*
If you think about it this scene trenchbull doesn't know Matilda has powers so that must have been terrifying for her if she really thinks a ghost did that
Ms Honey was always stronger than trunchbull. Despite everything she had gone through she was always still so kind, generous, and light hearted. Trunchbull thought she could get ahead in life by doing all those terrible things to everyone for her own gain. That makes her the weakest bull in the world.
I believe that Mrs. Trunchbull always wanted power because she was larger than others. She probably was really unhappy with herself because she couldn't get what she wanted. So, she used her size, speed, and strength to her advantage. Also, her ability to manage things. Matilda finally met her and put her in her place.

In general Ms Trunchbull murdered her step brother for his money and house and made it appear like a suicide. It seems like she treated Miss Honey badly when she says “I broke your arm once I can do it again.” As a kid seeing this scene scared me because I thought it was really his ghost writing.
In the book it's all but confirmed that she did kill him. And she was really horrible to Miss Honey, basically being a way worse version of Cinderella's stepmother. And when Matilda asked Miss Honey if her aunt beat her she said "let's not get into details". On top of that, Trunchbull forced Miss Honey to sign a contract that she would pay her back all the expenses it took to raise her, taking it from her salary and only allowing her to live on one pound a week "pocket money", which is basically almost four American dollars today. In the musical adaption (original stage version, not Netflix) they go into this part of the story too
You thought it was his actual ghost writing? Not trying to be rude, but were you asleep the entire movie? Little girl with *telekinetic* powers? They even made it obvious it was her doing it.
1:09 See how Trunchbull is clutching her neck when the class read “I will get you like you got me”? I think that means that she strangled Magnus to death from behind and she remembered doing it which was why she had done that. I love everything about this scene.

The way they filmed this was so interesting. The Chalk has a strong magnet inside of it and behind the chalkboard was a guy drawing the letters backwards with another strong magnet
I love Miss Trunchbull, even went as her last Halloween. People loved it. I feel like she had PTSD from the Olympics though. Throwing kids like a hammer throw, and a javelin is a pretty good sign.
Borderline attempted murder, if Matilda hadn't intervened that kid would've gone head first through a quarter inch glass pane and fallen 2-3 stories. And that wouldn't have been the only charge.
The part when she screams into the camera, and then the kid screams into the camera scared the crap out of me growing up. Still bothers me today as an adult.
I mean tbf she basically yeeted that kid out the window, and was trying to viciously hunt down and kill home intruders in a previous scene, and also previously forced the fat kid to eat a whole giant cake against his own will, so she's not exactly the most sane person.¯\_(ツ)_/¯
The blackboard erasers were on sticks and there were two special effects men attacking Trunchbull with them. Pam Ferris had to go to the hospital to get the chalk dust washed out of her eyes after they did that scene.
@@italym6410 No way jose! She is a nasty, mean, giangatic, holy, tyrannical terror, it says so in the book that she terrified the wits out of children and teachers alike.

I actually prefer the original stage version even to this movie. I definitely agree that the Netflix version cannot compare to this movie, but the original musical it was based on I actually prefer, because it's closer to the book in the portrayals of Miss Honey and Matilda's telekinesis and the music drives the story and feeling incredibly well. You should watch it!
Yeah because you know she deserves it in the movie but she's a good person in real life meaning you also feel outside she does not deserve so deserved yet undeserved lol
When I discovered that Pam Ferris, who was in the Rosemary and Thyme mysteries, was the actress playing the part of Trunchbull, I was stunned. What a transformation. Both roles top notch.
If this happened in real life, she would’ve been arrested and parents would be PRESSING CHARGES against her once they found out what she did. She wouldn’t even have met Matilda considering that she threw a student moments before Matilda attended the school
Perhaps Matilda should attend Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters instead of Crunchum Hall . The way she moves those dusters reminds me Magneto throwing metal chairs at Wolverine in DOFP . 😁
I find it kinda dumb how they added the whole thing about telekinesis into this story. Without the magic, this actually feels like something that maybe could have happened when schools weren't heavily regulated and teachers could hit students etc. But now the story feels dumbed down and unrealistic.

It was magical when the Trunchbull threw the boy out of the window and the boy came back into the class and the Trunchbull landed on the globe and the globe started spinning! This is a really magical scene and it also has a happy ending where the Trunchbull gets out of the school and never comes back again. I love this movie!
This scene is so funny when Matilda opens the window 🪟 then controls the boy allowing him to fly then back into the class room that was like dang hahaha good movie
4:40 I'm so happy for Bruce when he got his revenge on the Trunchbull!
He was forced to eat an 18 inch chocolate cake in front of the entire class at assembly
He was forced to eat an 18 inch chocolate cake in front of the entire school
@@lisamcdonald1014 Yes and that wasn't the right punishment to do. Are you on the Trunchbull's side? lol.
@@davidfarmer2193I love her
I love the blackboard scene.
When I saw the behind the scenes of this 🎥 I was impressed and saw how much fun and creativity they did to make it come to life which was incredible.
Miss Honey just stood up herself against Miss Trunchbull.
I’m 35 years old and I still love this movie
I’m 28 and my brother 27
20 years later, Matilda would return to this very school, with her now a business woman shares her memories.
Matilda reminds me of Eleven from Stranger Things. It’s the telekinesis without the nose bleed
Let's face it, getting hit with erasers was the least bad thing to happen to Trunchbull
School Children: YEAH THROW THOSE LUNCHES AT HER! YEAH!
Children’s Parents: Oh No! Where Are Your Lunches?
The children accused miss trunchbull of stealing their lunches
Children: We offered them to the principal 😎
Best few minutes in the whole movie- 👍
Trunchbull finally learned her lesson
4:32 IT’S GO TIME !!!!!!
I'd protect her

Harry Potter comparisons:
Matilda: Harry Potter & Hermione Granger
.
Miss Honey: Lily Evans & Lupin
Trunchbull: Umbridge & Marge (Who Pam Ferris by coincidence played)
Harry Wormwood: Uncle Vernon
Zinny Wormwood: Aunt Petunia
Mike: Dudley and to a lesser extent Draco Malfoy
Bruce Bogtrotter: Neville Longbottom
childhood classic, always favorite...
I remember watching this movie and being so excited when I first got the VHS 📼😭🥰
The way they filmed this was so interesting. The Chalk has a strong magnet inside of it and behind the chalkboard was a guy drawing the letters backwards with another strong magnet
No CGI? I'd love to see behind the scenes on this.
They used CGI for the dancing scene in the living room with the cards and poker chips flying around.
Man, the child actors in Matilda are having so much fun
I love Miss Trunchbull, even went as her last Halloween. People loved it. I feel like she had PTSD from the Olympics though. Throwing kids like a hammer throw, and a javelin is a pretty good sign.
Did anyone else notice that at 2:26 she had that kid by the THROAT? She's literally cutting off his air!
I'd say Mrs. Trunchbull would be sued and put in jail for child abuse.
@@kenweeraratne431 and threw another kid out a window previously
Bruce took a sweet revenge on the bull
The blackboard erasers were on sticks and there were two special effects men attacking Trunchbull with them. Pam Ferris had to go to the hospital to get the chalk dust washed out of her eyes after they did that scene.
I like the fact that Miss Honey is laughing.
Poor big sexy trungbull
@@italym6410 No way jose! She is a nasty, mean, giangatic, holy, tyrannical terror, it says so in the book that she terrified the wits out of children and teachers alike.
I really like her and Matilda can do magic with her powers. When I was growing up
The perfect young actress to play Matilda
- I broke your arm once before
- I can do it again, Jenny.
- I'm not seven years old anymore, Aunt Trunchbull.
- *children gasp*
- Shut your holes!
My favorite.

🥰good story for kids, luv it, still remember years ago my cousins daughter cried after watching this.🥰
The flying scene had to be my favorite when he was thrown I love flying
Imagine Matilda Doesn't Have Her Powers Everything Would Be Automatically "BRUTAL"
Ngl this was way better than the new "Matilda: The Musical"
I actually prefer the original stage version even to this movie. I definitely agree that the Netflix version cannot compare to this movie, but the original musical it was based on I actually prefer, because it's closer to the book in the portrayals of Miss Honey and Matilda's telekinesis and the music drives the story and feeling incredibly well. You should watch it!
2:59 always had me cracking up!
Poor trungbull
I like her face when she’s running
This the funniest scene from the movie 😂hands down one the best Movies I ever watched as a kid
Yeah because you know she deserves it in the movie but she's a good person in real life meaning you also feel outside she does not deserve
so deserved yet undeserved lol
@@AnEmoHerrscher I had a stroke reading that

I love how the kids expressed themselves when the chalk was writing that message!!! crazy!!!
I love how miss Trunchbull fell down in slow motion with her giant body.
When I discovered that Pam Ferris, who was in the Rosemary and Thyme mysteries, was the actress playing the part of Trunchbull, I was stunned. What a transformation. Both roles top notch.
*chalk literally starts floating and writes something*
the children: this is fine

Cada segundo desse filme é magnífico ♥
If this happened in real life, she would’ve been arrested and parents would be PRESSING CHARGES against her once they found out what she did. She wouldn’t even have met Matilda considering that she threw a student moments before Matilda attended the school
The story justification is the parents are just as terrified of her.
The parents will made be terrified of Matilda she has the magic her own is not her mind or the eyes is about heart
Matilda has magic in her heart
Matilda parents are the Villains they Treat her badly just like Cinderella The stepsisters and the stepmother Treated Cinderella badly
Multiple counts of attempted child murder, child abuse, child neglect, child endangerment, animal cruelty, disturbing the peace, and property damage.
