Star Wars Jedi Knight: Dark Forces II is a 1997 first-person shooter video game developed and published by LucasArts for Microsoft Windows. It was later re-released on Steam in September 2009 and again in 2015 on GOG.com. The game is set in the Star Wars fictional universe and is a sequel to the 1995 game Star Wars: Dark Forces. Jedi Knight was very well-received by critics.
Kyle Katarn, um mercenário a serviço da Aliança Rebelde que apareceu no jogo predecessor. Um ano depois dos eventos do filme O Retorno de Jedi Kyle está a procura de seu pai Morgan que teria sido assassinado por um Jedi chamado Jerec. Kyle recupera com o robô 8t88 um disco que só um andróide em sua antiga residência poderia ler.
Lá descobre um sabre de luz e começa a trilhar seu caminho pela Força. O jogador pode desenvolver poderes da Força e dependendo de suas escolhas pode ir para o Lado Negro da Força ou para o Lado da Luz. Então descobre que Jerec e seus comparsas pretendem tomar posse do Vale dos Jedi, um local que concentra o poder de muitos cavaleiros que já morreram. Ele enfrenta os comparsas de Jerec que também são cavaleiros Jedi e vai com Jan Ors até o planeta onde está o Vale dos Jedi.
Kyle Katarn, a mercenary serving the Rebel Alliance who appeared in the predecessor game. A year after the events of the movie The Return of the Jedi Kyle is looking for his father Morgan who would have been murdered by a Jedi named Jerec. Kyle retrieves with the 8t88 robot a disc that only an android in his former residence could read.
There he discovers a lightsaber and begins to tread his way through the Force. The player can develop Force powers and depending on his choices can go to the Black Side of the Force or to the Side of Light. Then he discovers that Jerec and his cronies intend take possession of the Valley of the Jedi, a place that concentrates the power of many riders who have already died. He confronts Jerec's cronies who are also Jedi knights and goes with Jan Ors to the planet where the Valley of the Jedi is.

Me too!!! Have you ever jumped down the crater behind you (the start) and stay alive? I have done it once (luckily) but after few meters some laser got me (1shotxd). Remember it like yesterday.
same man. on my first pc with windows 95. 16mb ram. 1gb hard drive, 256mhz cpu. i used to go to jewel with my mom and every month i would buy the PC gamer magazines that had the demo disks. man back then they would have 20, 30+ demos on each disk. one month they had a special edition magazine with 100 demos. man as a kid having 30 to 100 demos to play every month was insane
27 years later, I've just learned that you can fire up your lightsaber. I was so disappointed that you fight only with a gun in a star wars game. I kept coming back to it though, just killed innocent npcs and couldn't able to find my way around to progress in the level and just jumped around.

KKKK in the USA I don't know kkk but here in Brazil that had hundreds of cd-roms with demos or even complete games like this, Captain Claw, Postal, X Decathlon, Commandos, Tomb Raider and so on kkkk

I remember playing this demo with a Voodoo 1 card. I don't think I got very far, but I remember a few parts of the beginning of the demo. I don't remember seeing this later in the game, but didn't buy the game. I was busy playing Quake II.
Que saudades desse jogo,eu jogava essa demo milhares de vezes lá pelos anos de 2003 e 2002,na época eu sonhava em um dia jogar a versão completa mas isso jamais aconteceu hahahaha,eu sei que hoje em dia tem na Steam mas provavelmente eu não teria paciência pra jogar até o final.
Mas mesmo assim,guardo muitas lembranças boas desse jogo.

in the late 1990's i borrowed a PC Format CD from a friend. on it was this game demo and there was music which was playing in the background (i think it was an option to add audio track from CD while playing the demo).
please can someone assist me in trying to track down the music author/creator from this demo?

it was PC Format Magazine specific music, so i am not sure about the origin of the creator/s.
there were no credits specifically about the music to my recollection.
for now, this is the longest time an earworm will remain unknown to me.
