- John Fogerty performs "Vanz Kant Danz" live at the Farm Aid concert in Champaign, Illinois on September 22, 1985. Farm Aid was started by Willie Nelson, Neil Young and John Mellencamp in 1985 to keep family farmers on the land and has worked since then to make sure everyone has access to good food from family farmers. Dave Matthews joined Farm Aid's board of directors in 2001.

Farm Aid's performances are donated by the artists in order to raise funds and raise awareness for family farmers. They've raised their voices to help - what can you do?
The intro shows you why John was a one man band for years
Vanz Kant Danz - LET'S WALZ!!!
live is so much better than the studio ❤Been a fan for 50 years😊
One is a VC and the other is a back door man. What a wonderful race!
Yes Indeed. No one quite has that effect on an audience like John Fogerty. His voice is so unique...
Yes, indeed!
I hope everybody gets what John was saying in this song. Watch em boy!
I love the guitar solo in this. I wish the original had that.
He just released all that anger he had on his band mates and Saul Zaentz in that minute guitar solo. F***ing great!

This is one of my favourite YT videos. It tells such a large part of John's story:-
*Esp what an amazing songwriter, and performer that he is.
*It reveals how unique his voice is.
*You can see in his face exactly where he was at, at that time - being courageous, still angry, and a bit defiant.
*But most of all, l love how this backing band is supporting him, with so much skill, respect and enthusiasm.
* I also love how it was their lead, John Mellencamp, who encouraged John to do this concert - very impromptu. It must have done heaps for his confidence.
The Mellencamp band did a nice job backing him that day
everytime i watch AMADEUS i think of this one, which was originally entitled, ZAENTZ CAN'T DANCE
My copy of Centerfield has Zanz Kant Danz, original pressing from WB Records.
That’s Kenny Arranoff on drums who plays drums to this day with John Fogerty. Together there unbelievable. I’ve seen them play tons of times. When they play “ Keep on Chooglin “ Kenny Arranoff goes into Orbit !!!!
He also played during Brian Setzer's set.
Great voice.
wheelzwheela the greatest
off CENTERFIELD, of which john played all, wrote all.
That guitar solo!
It such a fun phrase to say over and over again when somebody rips you off
He does a good job with this song live
Excellent quality !
Amazing guitar solo!
I'm here, January 31st, 2021. Listening.
Wow what a voice!
The best!
this was written about long-time business partner saul zaentz; had to change the name to obscure the point
La voz de John es demoledora.
Eterno talento❤

Dead. Funny how Karma works.
@@MsSmitty9 , but death comes for all of us. 🤔
So special! Mahtavaa!!!!
Vance can't dance, but he'll steal your money.
Yeah Johnny
I love u mommies Jones thank u breda for your support daughter dee
Zante can't dance, but he'll steal your money He can rot in hell
I've always wondered what Tom, Stu, and Doug thought about this song.
They convinced Zaentz to sue John over the song.
Hugo Stiglitz I thought that was “The Old man down the road?”
@@_cloudiiskxy_158 Yeah, that was a separate case. When Zaentz threatened to sue Fogerty over this song, Fogerty had to change the title from Zanz to Vanz. According to Fogerty, it was Doug and Stu that supported Zaentz in the lawsuit
Sore losers
Karma is a funny thing. John came out on top in the long run.
Kenny Arnoff saved the day by reversing the beat as Fogerty came in wrong. World class.
Gotcha. I kept counting and counting thinking that they planned it that way but I didn’t think so. I also heard the wrong notes on that intro scale one time. It’s such a cool song would’ve even been great if he had wrote it with the mistakes. I love this song and I love John.
i heard that too. whoa. such a quick save too.
*Saul Zaentz & the Little Hat Bat Mitvah Band* was not present for this.
You can just tell how irritated John was that the backup band messed up the intro of the song, guitarist and drummer were way off, still a cool jam either way
Nope watch..John is not even playing that part when the bad note is hit. It's the red head kid playing the intro & he clearly hits the bad note.
no you need to look at it john hit it one note he hit !!!
glad u noticed
that kid is not a red head either !!!
hes not a red head either !!!
I didnt know Fogerty ever played this one LIVE LOL..Great Song.. Harvey Weinstein reminds me of VANZ the PIGGY LOL
"vanz" is golemikie --- evrybodhi's got one; it's only FAIR
By the way if one of you guitar players out there please give me the bar chords for the verse and the chorus. D minor I think for the verse but there’s three chords in the verse. Thanks
Kenny Arnoff on drums!
