ABOUT ME:
Thanks for visiting my channel, I hope you enjoyed the video! I founded Caterpillar Cross Stitch in 2015 when I tried desperately for months to find a modern baby sampler my mum could stitch for new baby Felicity that would fit in with her simple, contemporary nursery. I love cross stitch, running, baking fruit cakes, drinking gin, eating salted caramel ice cream and most crafts!
See you soon and happy stitching! Sally x

This makes ending the backstitch so much easier than the way I was using before! Thanks 😊
Glad it helped!
Love your videos. I always learn something new.
Good to see Nugget again.
Thank you Ford.
So glad you learned something new! Thanks for watching!
I’m impressed when you started talking about taking the two strands and kind of wrapping them around each other that’s a very neat tip. I love learning something new and I really like how you take a regular backstitch and give so many options of how a user can make it look the way they appreciate it.🎉
Thanks for watching! Glad you found something you could use in it!
Thanks for watching! Glad you found something you could use in it!
Ford! We need more Nugget!!! Please!
Thanks for watching, we think Nugget is really cute too!
Love how you did the Algerian Eye halfway on all but the last stitch. Very nice neat look that I will use from now on. Thank You!
You're welcome!
More Nugget!!! So cute
They're a very good birb. Hoping they can resume their regular supervisory duties now.
These two backstitch videos answered so many questions I had about backstitching. Thank you once again for sharing your expertise with us. 😊
Lovely to hear, thanks for watching!
Thanks so much for this. I don't particularly enjoy doing backstitch, but I love the end product. It's great to have different options to achieve different looks. Also, my goofy cat (who had a blast chasing the thread in the Pt. 1 video) thinks Nugget needs to be in every video.
Thanks so much for watching! We're glad that you enjoyed the video!
Happy to see Nugget is back. Great tips! Thanks so much.
I've missed working with them. Thanks for watching!
So glad to see Nugget back, these tips were so helpful can’t wait to use them, thanks for sharing your knowledge
Thanks for watching!
I love all your tips and techniques!

Thank you so much, Ford;this has to be one of the most helpful and informative tutorials I’ve seen. And welcome back, Nugget! x🪡
Thanks for watching! Glad you found it helpful.
We're glad you found it helpful too!
Great tips in both part 1 and 2. Thank you!
Thank you for sticking with it through both parts!
Thank you!
Thanks for watching!
Very useful tips ❤
Glad you found the video useful, thanks for watching!
Brilliant idea to use couching method for curves etc, also nice tip for Algerian eyes. Thank you.❤
Of course! Thanks for watching!
Cute 🐦! 💕 you guys.
Thank you for watching!
Hi Nugget!
Nugget says [incomprehensible chatter]
How about a video on beading?
I'll add it to my list of ideas!
I love Nugget's chatter! I really like that first technique of how to end back stitch. Would it still work on linen or evenweave? And I've never even thought about cording two strands together - very clever. That couching technique is very cool too.
Yes it can work, but you have to be extra careful not to distort the weave of the fabric. Linen would be harder than something like jobelan or monaco for sure.
The cording technique is something I came up with on my own, combining my experience as a disgraced boy scout with my love of stitching!
I just watched this flosstube, and I have a question. If the pattern calls for straight stitches, how do you make the curve? I hope I'm explaining it right. Thank you!
Nice video. Question. How to cross stitch witb beads??
I've added this to the list of future videos!
Hi. Thanks for the Video. Learned something New. Do you have recommendations for backstitching a circular or curved design on evenweave 32ct I want to do some teardrops
I noticed your hoop is attached to something that you can turn back and forth. What is it? Just found your channel and enjoy your videos.
I use a wooden lap stand for stitching. Lets me use both hands which speeds me up and reduces strain on my hands and shoulders.
Hi Ford, as a newbie cross-stitcher the thought of washing my precious project fills me with dread. Any tips on how to do this safely? Thank you
Good question! We have a tutorial on this that you can find here : ua-cam.com/video/MZKuewQqIvI/v-deo.htmlfeature=shared
Do you ever add backstitching even if the pattern doesn't call for it ?
Thanks for watching. We can't speak for Ford but lots of members in our Facebook community do add back stitch when the pattern doesn't call for it :)
I am working on a piece with a ton of colors. In one section, I had 10 squares with 8 different colors. The whole piece is like this. Is there a good way to constantly change colors without it getting so bulky on the underside?
Parking might be heplful for you. I haven't done it but there are a couple videos in the channel history from other presenters about it!
@@SonovaStitch Thank you so much! Have watched a video on parking, but didn't think of that. Thanks for all the great tips!
