Another example of Christians arguing with christians. Jehovah's witnesses absolutely believe their interpretation of the bible is the correct one , and every other one is tainted by Satan. It's only one book people, and you guys can't come close to figuring out what it means. No wonder people are finally walking away from what is so obviously iron age superstitions and scribblings. Welcome to the world of reality It's just better.

      Exodus 6:3

And I appeared unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, by the name of God Almighty, but by my name JEHOVAH was I not known to them.

@@tongakhan230 - Michael is totally accurate and correct in what he says. JWs are not encouraged to read the Bible by itself. Here are two quotes by the JW masters that proves this:
From the October 1, 1967 Watchtower: “Thus the Bible is an organizational book and belongs to the Christian congregation as an organization, not to individuals, regardless of how sincerely they may believe that they can interpret the Bible. For this reason the Bible CANNOT be properly understood without Jehovah’s visible organization in mind.”
From JR: In other words, it's not what the Bible says that has the final say in a person's life; it's what the JW masters SAY the Bible says that has the final say. This means that reading the Bible apart from the (GUFFAW!) “study materials” in the publications is a MUST. You can't read the Bible by itself - You HAVE to have the dictations of the JW masters. Why? Because THEY say so. Nothing more to it than that.
And here's the quote that actually does say that JW are discouraged from reading the Bible on its own:
"From time to time, there have arisen from among the ranks of Jehovah's people those, who, like the original Satan, have adopted an independent, faultfinding attitude...They say that it is sufficient to read the Bible exclusively, either alone or in small groups at home. But, strangely, through such 'Bible reading,' they have reverted right back to the apostate doctrines that commentaries by Christendom's clergy were teaching 100 years ago..." The Watchtower, Aug. 15, 1981.
From JR: Did you get that? If you read the Bible by itself, you will believe in the Deity of Christ (actually, you'll become a Trinitarian) because that is exactly what the Watchtower is referring to here when it says "apostate doctrines." In other words, if you read the Bible alone by itself you will not arrive at Watchtower doctrines. This is an amazing admission by the Watchtower organization. It is clear, Jehovah's Witnesses do not get their teachings from the Bible, but from the JW masters in the Watchtower literature.

Would you like to see a list of the Scriptures that were INSERTED in the KJV?
In the late 19th century, scholars B. F. Westcott and F.J.A. Hort compared existing Bible manuscripts and fragments as they prepared the Greek master text that they felt most closely reflected the original writings.
In the mid-20th century, the New World Bible Translation Committee used that master text as the basis for its translation. Other early papyri, thought to date back to the second and third centuries C.E., were also used. Since then, more papyri have become available.
Based on those master texts, it is evident that SOME VERSES OF THE CHRISTIAN GREEK SCRIPTURES FOUND IN OLDER TRANSLATIONS, such as THE KING JAMES VERSION, were actually ADDITIONS MADE BY LATER COPYISTS AND WERE NEVER PART OF THE INSPIRED SCRIPTURES.

All these verses were added to the KJV:
      The verses are Matthew 17:21; 18:11; 23:14; Mark 7:16; 9:44, 46; 11:26; 15:28; Luke 17:36; 23:17; John 5:4; Acts 8:37; 15:34; 24:7; 28:29; and Romans 16:24.
The only Scriptures removed by JW's are the ones added by the KJV that didn't belong there in the first place! Learn some facts before posting ignorance!

Number 44 is me. I was raised and baptized a Jehovah’s Witness from a child. I read the Bible so much hoping to find common ground with people I came across in the door to door ministry that I ended up becoming a Baptist.
It’s funny because it is from the Baptists they came from and then so arrogantly rejected. They speak of not reading scripture alone and in small groups for fear one will stray from the organization and that is exactly what Russell and his companions did in the early years and now look at their central beliefs.
Honestly, if they weren’t so dogmatic about “new light” and their own interpretation of scripture and high views of themselves, they wouldn’t be a horrible church to join.
I’m grateful for the experience because the faith I once wore as a badge of honor taught me a lesson I’ll never forget: to read Gods word for myself and never blindly accept man’s interpretation as my own. So I thank them at least for that.

I know because I read the kingdom proclaimers book that came out in 1990 or so. Think that was my favorite book they ever published because I am something of a history buff and I think chronicles their development in the 19 century all the way through to the writing of the book. I grew up in this thing. Glad you made it out. I hope it wasn’t too far into life. I got out first in my early 20s and then got sucked back in by an older relative. • @jamesritter5078

@@777Tralfaz777 No, it does not depend on "perspective" - It depends on measuring what JWs believe with the standard of Scripture to see whether or not - in fact and truth - JWs beliefs are biblical.
When a genuinely honest person _does_ measure JW beliefs with the standard of Scripture, JW beliefs are found to _not_ be biblical.
For example - The JW belief of Christ _really_ being Michael the angel is falsehood according to Scripture. Here's why that's true:
NO angel would ever make the declaration that Christ makes for Himself in John 12:45
NO angel would ever tell people to believe in it the same as they do in God. But Christ does just that in John 14:1.
NO angel would ever make the declaration Christ makes for Himself in John 14:7-9. Michael would DEFINITELY NOT ever make these declarations. His name means "Who Is Like God?"
Obvious answer: NO ONE. If Michael had made those declarations, he would be going against the meaning of his own name and committing blasphemy.
NO angel would ever receive for itself the declaration of Thomas in John 20:28.
NO angel has the same nature as God, as Paul states Christ does in Philippians 2:6.
In NO angel does all the fullness of God reside, as Paul states in Colossians 2:9.
Secondly - Consider the following: Some of your core and essential beliefs as a JW are that your JW masters are the only, ONLY ones who...
      - were appointed by God and have His approval and ALL others are false, wrong, apostate, of Satan and so on.
      - are the only, ONLY communicators of God's truth and ALL others are false, wrong, apostate, of Satan and so on.
      - are the only, ONLY ones who can interpret the Bible correctly and ALL others are false, wrong, apostate, of Satan and so on.
      - are the only, ONLY ones who have the genuine message of salvation and ALL others are false, wrong, apostate, of Satan and so on.
And they have also declared that a person absolutely MUST become a JW in order to have the possibility of maybe gaining salvation one day.
Now - To be a JW means that a person is absolutely 100% REQUIRED to believe the listing above - without question - for the possibility of MAYBE gaining salvation one day. For JWs, anyone who does not subscribe 100% to the above is apostate.
The problem is - NONE of what's listed above is actually biblical.

Like normal, you are 100% incorrect. If one believes they found the truth, then who is an apostate to them would depend on that perspective. Never on someone else's perspective, or point of view, who believes differently.
You said "It depends on measuring what JWs believe with the standard of Scripture to see whether or not - in fact and truth"
That is a different argument. I agree with this standard. The Bible is the touchstone.
However, one cannot "turn away" from the truth, if they never knew the truth.
You said "The JW belief of Christ really being Michael the angel is falsehood according to Scripture. Here's why that's true:"
And you proceed to list things based entirely on *your* subjective opinion. 🤣
      Here is the facts:
Jesus is God's Son. The firstborn of all creation, the beginning of the creation by God. God sent Jesus to this Earth to be the promised Messiah, and to buy back what Adam lost for mankind. Jesus taught us we need to repent of our sins if we are to have life. Please ask for scripture for any of these points.

You’re right, Jehovah’s Witnesses are not just another Christian denomination. If they were like everyone else, they would celebrate holidays with obvious Pagan origins and act like false worship is acceptable to God.
If they were like all other Christian denominations they would permit fornication and lying and immorality and act as if how you live your life doesn’t matter as long as you show up to church on Sunday. They would pretend that God never said those people who practice these things will not inherit God’s kingdom.
If they were like every other Christian denomination, they would go along with false doctrines like the trinity even though it is known that teaching came hundred of years after the death of Jesus and the apostles, is not Biblical, became part of “Church doctrine” by royal decree and it’s origins are based on Plato’s philosophies which were greatly influenced by Pagan and Greek gods and beliefs.
If they were like every other Christian denomination, they would not follow Jesus example and direction and go out teaching people about God’s kingdom (Matthew 24:14 and Matthew 28:19-20) and the real purpose for mankind.
Luke 6:22 and John 15:19 shows why the world (including all these other “Christians” who can accept each other but not JWs) would hate Jehovah’s Witnesses, because they are separate from the rest of the world. They are different. They don’t just go along with what everyone else says, but have studied the Bible to see what it actually says to learn the truth and not just go along with the false teachings the “Church” has forced on everyone for centuries.
Matthew 7:13-14 shows that broad is the road to destruction, but narrow the gate to life and few will find it. Would you rather be among the widely accepted or the group who Christ selected out of the world, to be no part of the world, and who are among the few who find the narrow path that leads to life?

So her family is kind of big shots - her grandfather was on the hospital committee here in PGH - meaning he was the one who met with doctors to develop bloodless surgeries (they actually can accept platelets just not a bag of blood)... Greg, as a fan of independent thinking, have you critically considered the -possibility- that this person may have a biased motive to attempt to misrepresent the perspective of people who challenge his beliefs?
We're the ones telling people "Read the bible for yourself. Challenge the 'unquestionable, yet ineffable divine mysteries.' Question everything!"
If you'd look up the article that quote comes from and read it in context, you may note that the intent is NOT to diminish critical thinking. But that truth is not subjective. We should not be independent in the context of "me having my truth and you having your truth." Rather, we should reason together from the scriptures so that both of us can find THE truth. Not just what's popular or orthodox or comfortable.
I'd encourage you to think for yourself, and question people who represent views they don't hold as 100% cartoonishly ridiculous. ... as much as you would be skeptical of people representing their own views as 100% inerrant. Either is a rather clear indication of bias.

My mother was a witness and I remember her saying that only the witnesses will be saved. I said what about the faithful people who follow the Lord and have repented of their sins. She said they won't be saved. So if you are not a witness, even though you have stopped your sin and pray and give your testimony, you will not be with the Lord, so why bother? That made me a little sad, to think that we can't be with Jesus in His Kingdom. Might as well keep on sinning and be like the world. She was so brainwashed, said they can't celebrate Christmas and birthdays, but she always had her hands out for the gifts my sister gave her. I am glad I didn't stop believing in my Lord and I am walking very close to Him. My mother died years ago, never forgave people and died a very bitter woman. If that's what it means to be a JW, than I don't want to be a hypocrite. I love God with all my heart, body, mind. I trust in Him only. Amen.

As a former JW, I can’t believe how crazy some of their teachings are after being gone for so long. For example, Watchtower’s belief that Micheal the Archangel is the same entity as Jesus Christ always bothered me. Now I’m wondering if any other church that came from the Millerite movement believes in that same teaching like the Seventh Day Adventists. After all, Charles Taz Russel was a former Seventh Day Adventist before he broke away to start the Bible Student movement which we all know became the Jehovahs Witnesses after Joseph Rutherford forcefully took over the Watchtower Society. I'm an Adventist. Yes, Michael, which means, One who is like God, is believed to be Jesus just as [the] Angel of the Lord in the Old Testament is often believed to be a reference to Jesus Himself. Angel simply means messenger, and Jesus is not viewed as having the nature of an angel. He is viewed as perfectly equal with the Father, eternally self-existent, 'in Whom was all the fullness of the Godhead bodily." Colossians 2:9. Michael is simply viewed as a title for Jesus. Jesus is the, I AM. John 8:58. He and the Father are one. John 10:30.
I remember now a key word associated with Michael and Jesus (or the Messiah in Daniel).
      1. Prince: both the Messiah and Michael are called our prince (Daniel 9:25; 10:21)

    • @ThyWordIsTruthJ17
      @ThyWordIsTruthJ17 Рік тому +3

Adventists do not believe Jesus is an angel; only that He took the 'title' of Michael the archangel. That's it. If you want to know why Adventists come to the conclusion that Michael is a title that refers to Jesus, just examine these verses:
First, the same 'voice' that awakens the dead is both the voice of the Son of God and the voice of the archangel-- "The dead shall hear [the voice of the Son of God]: and they that hear shall live." John 5:25. "For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with [the voice of the archangel], and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first." 1 Thessalonians 4:16.
Second, Michael is called our 'prince' as is also the Messiah in Daniel. "Messiah the prince," Daniel 9:25. "Michael... the great prince." Daniel 12:1. "Michael, your prince." Daniel 10:21. Feel free to examine the context.
No Adventist that I know of thinks that Jesus is an angel or anything less than fully divine -"the fullness of the Godhead bodily," "God manifest in the flesh." Colossians 2:9; 1 Timothy 3:16.
      God bless you richly!

@@jamesritter5078 I will share mine. When I was born, my mother was the eldest daughter of the head of a Kingdom Hall (the providing overseer) however he was ordered by the higher ups to go to where the “need was great” basically a place that there were few JW’s to convert them (this was somewhere in Texas in the 1960s) and she told me many stories of driving for 2 hours to reach the closest congregation, and she would move to a new school every semester in school o follow her parents. In short, my mothers father was deeply entrenched. He however stepped down from his post because his second eldest daughter (my mothers younger sister) was married to a non believer when she was 15. So my grandfather basically raised his grandchildren like thy were his children. This was a big no no in the organization and so he proactively stepped down. My father was different. He was in a poor family in Monrovia California in the mid 50s and in the 60s he too was introduced when a old lady appeared and converted the whole family. However my fathers mother was a Cinderella stepmother type and did what people today would call child abuse.
I can go into more detail about the backstories but the point is that these histories had a profound impact on me. Their lives seemed miserable, my mothers was bad inside and my fathers life improved when he got into JW. However when I was born they had largely been isolated, they didn’t leave but were instead ghosting, they would read the Bible but wouldn’t minister, they are what JW’s call inactive. But around the early 2000s they came back, which was around I was 9. So for my entire life I knew of this idea of JW’s but never knew what they were all about. I came in and say some great success in the ministry(prob because I was a child and no one can turn away a child) but when I was in my teens I saw the problems. The specific congregation I was in had a lot of older people and the younger people were pressured to take eldership status (because anyone with bible knowledge and baptized can become one). I rejected. I had some other younger teen friends in that hall, who eventually fell away for reasons I didn’t know. What eventually got me was when we were going to Mc Donald’s after some ministry. When the elder asked me if I was considering baptism. That was the moment that I collapsed in my opinion of JW. I suddenly had a moment of silent clarity that these people wanted my youth and not the betterment of me. I started having game theories in my head that if my best isn’t what god thinks is my best then I will have a life entirely wasted. I practically zoned out from that point onward until I eventually did what my parents did before me (they were dead by this) so I had no lose of family to consider and friends had largely left before me. So again, I just slowly stopped attending and never did get baptized, in fact because leaving was the ultimate aim after that elder talk, I felt quite happy that I didn’t go all in too soon.
Now I have heard many antidotes that primarily come from Hispanic congregations in South California (I was born in Idaho). One of which was when my father and mother got engaged. When he entered my mothers Spanish hall it would be obvious to show greetings and shake hands, so when my father went to shake an elders hand he put his hand away, because my father was white and thus a gringo. So when I look at people saying that JW’s are this or that, I shrug my head because frankly, they are all human. It is true that JW have a weakness against pedos, but it is also true that some congregations are renowned for their peacefulness, and yet others are so with their lack of such qualities.

As long as you base your studying and your conclusions on the publications by the watchtower, you were OK to do this. It’s when you start drawing conclusions that go contrary to doctrine and you discuss it with other members that you get into trouble. Sometimes, you can discuss it with people you trust. Family members in that sort of thing. Other times, you’ll get a talking to about not having enough faith. If you keep it up though, you can get yourself in serious trouble where they start disciplinary action on you. I ran into this issue lots of times because of the 1914 and 1919 doctrines. Isaiah 45:19 God created the earth to be inhabited.
Psalms 37:11 & 29 The righteous and meek people will live forever on the earth in peace.
Revelation 21:4 We know this isn’t talking about heaven, because there has never been pain, suffering or death in heaven and here it says “the former things have passed away”.
Ecclesiastes 3:11 tells us God put an eternity in our hearts. That’s why, even people who have been misled to believe they’ll go to heaven when they die, still don’t want to die. We have a natural, God-given desire to live on earth.
Gods purpose for the earth has not changed. Genesis 1:28 tells us that purpose. Satan lied, Adam and Eve sinned, but that did not change God’s purpose for people or the earth.
God had already created angels in heaven. If he wanted more beings in heaven, why would he create the earth, make people, after they sin allow them to suffer and then if they’re good, take them to heaven? That just doesn’t make sense and it’s also not what the Bible teaches. Isaiah 65:21-22
Adam and Eve were locked out of the garden of Eden. Gods people will be given the paradise earth again, as God originally purposed. No one is being “locked out of heaven”. The truth the Bible teaches is of a paradise earth.
Isaiah 25:8 says Jehovah will swallow up death forever.
Daniel 2:44 shows God’s kingdom will stand forever. Under that kingdom, the one Jesus taught us to pray for at Matthew 6:9-11 and the one he instructed his followers to preach about (Matthew 24:14), God’s true followers will enjoy life on a peaceful earth, forever.

@OTTO OCTAVIOUS Read the actual bible (KJV) and you can see for yourself that 144,000 are the Jews brought through the time of Jacobs trouble(Tribulation), who accept Jesus the their savior and Messiah. 12,000 from all of the 12 tribes of Israel=144,000.

    • @jimd9339
      @jimd9339 3 роки тому

@OTTO OCTAVIOUS The 144,000 are: Jewish men. They are virgins. They are not married and never have been. They are 12,000 of the 12 tribes of Israel. The Watchtower Society are NOT the 144,000.

    • @TheSergio1021
      @TheSergio1021 3 роки тому +1

@@johnconstantine2754 I remember hearing somewhere that the 144,000 could be metaphorical. 12 is a number used in the Bible to represent Israel or God's people, and 1000 is to represent a great multitude. So 144,000 = 12x12x1000. The Jews AND the Gentiles, and there will be a great multitude of them.
      Just one interpretation.

Heresy upon heresy. Amazing that these cults can only grow by tricking those unstudied and gullible that they are indeed ‘Christian’, and in fact the only true ones. May God throw this whole system into hell and deliver those enslaved by it’s false doctrines to a true biblical understanding of Christ and his work on the cross
