Rock is not about how hard it sounds, it's about the message that it sends, this song is supposed to say that no matter how lonely you feel, there is always someone out there who cares about you. I think that is a message we all should take to heart.

You are loved, seek help if you need it. Even if it's just in music, Symptom of Being Human by Shinedown is another amazing one. Might Love Myself by Beartooth or Leave a Light on by Papa Roach are amazing songs that help me when I'm down and depressed.

I went to a Nickelback concert and Shinedown opened. I walked away thinking all about the opening band. Still feel the same. These guys understand what it means to overcome the storms life throws at you. Real, honest and gritty.

@Christopher Bingham Nickelback is a great band too but they have their own style of song.... a band like my darkest days would have been more appropriate to open for nickelback. Shinedown is my favorite by far but those other bands are awesome too

This song helped me get through my mom's breast cancer journey. I always asked her if she was scared and she told me no. Whenever I hear "and your moment of Truth is the day you say I'm not scared" I get goosebumps. She is now 3 years in remission ♥️

The part at the beginning with Brent speaking and Barry holding Zach is when he found out his grandmother died literally 5 minutes before. He didn't know they put it in the video until they saw the video. So sad. Makes me cry every time I see Zach cry and be upset in this video.

OMG. This made my day. As I saw the few scenes of people crowd-surfing, I was thinking how much I'd love to see Shinedown and do that. Then thinking about how chronically sick I am and how much pain I am regularly in which prevents me from living a normal life, I realized I'd have to be in a wheelchair, the light/sound may be too much, and never get that close to see the band... And then I saw the person being lifted up in his wheelchair JUST as I was thinking that... And I am literally in tears. The entire concept of the song is heartwarming, but that part especially touched me. It gives me hope that maybe someday I can see my favorite band live.

This song has always made me feel a certain way. From the death of my grandmother, the loss of my childhood love, the death of my ex, and the love of my life letting go when I was lost in the darkness. Sometimes I still feel the sting but this is life. And I forever hold them right in my heart.

I agree. This song may not be their usual style, but it still fits them. I saw them in OKC and before he started singing he said this song was about how music had changed his life and helped him through some tough times and how he hoped he could help someone with his music just like he had been helped. Everyone has gone through that, I don't know about everyone else, but Shinedown was one of the bands that helped me the most. The style might be different, but the message still hits home.

Years ago I couldn't get the night off from work so my dad took my little brother to a sevendust/shinedown show and as much as I wish I was there in glad my dad went because it blew him awayhow great they are and he has been a fan since
Saw them in concert last year and somehow had never heard of this song of theirs til then even though I'd been listening to them for years. My cousin was a huge Shinedown fan and even had the words "won't you give this man his wings" tattooed on his forearm. Him and I promised to go see Shinedown together one day but we never got that chance. Brent got on stage before they started playing Get Up and talking about how there's always time to get back on your feet and there are people there to help you and to never give into the darkness and I remember as soon as the piano started playing I lost control of my tear ducts because I knew someone close to me wasn't able to hear those words anymore because he'd already given into the darkness. Ever since that concert, Unity was my top most played song of 2022 and I cannot wait to see them in concert again. ❤

Shinedown has been my favorite band for years now, they never seize to amaze me on every song they've ever written. And Brent Smith is one of the greatest rock singers alive today. I almost feel bad trying to sing along with their songs because I just butcher them lol.

Saw these tonight in Birmingham, UK for the second time can honestly say they are the best band I've ever seen live and this song live is just beyond amazing ! If you get the chance to see these do not hesitate to buy a ticket.

I met them as well, while they were in the UK during the Winter, I was shaking and going blue from the cold, they apologised for going out for a coffee and keeping us waiting (bearing in mind we were 8 hours early) we got a bunch of stuff signed and had a chat for a while. I got front row to that concert and so far its been the best day of my life!
They've said that they never want to make two albums that sound alike, but this one deserves repeated. Just the feel of it is amazing. What it says is amazing. By far their best and with any luck they bring out even better!

I was so happy when i met Shinedown, they were so cool! a friend of mine met him and told him "Dude, You are GOD!" his repsonse was simply "nah", it was so cool. Their concert was just beautiful aswell.
When my daughter was diagnosed with a brain tumor this was her favorite song to wake up to. She still love's this song 21 year's later. This is an amazing band. The music is unforgettable.

There is no one out there who cares if I'm alive are dead but Listening to Shinedown I know that I'm not alone in this fight. The struggle of going threw life alone is real and knowing that no one cares enough to say I'm here for you regardless of the circumstance I wont give up because I know someone out there can benefit from my story one day and if it saves one life then I'm good with that. So yeah I will always put my hand in the air and forge on.
In my almost half a century on this planet, I have heard so many kinds of music, to many bands and musicians to count. From opera to thrash to gangster rap and all in between. I have heard good bands and bad. I've heard songs with a clear cut message, both loving and hateful. And I've heard songs that left me wondering wtf? With that being said, I have tremendously enjoyed every single song I've ever heard from this amazing band. And I can honestly say, in my humble opinion, you gentlemen will go down in history as not only one of the greatest bands ever. But also one of the most meaningful. Thank you, sirs for your talent, your commitment, your love to your fans. Both old and new. And may you always be surrounded by love, peace and success.
