No need for tje "of her generation" IMO tje best voice of all time is Whitney or Aretha, but Amy can go head to head with them easily, she wouldnt embarass herself
When my wife was diagnosed with cancer this song crushed me. Now that she's in remission it reminds me of the pain how much I love her and how lucky I am to still have her with me today.
I saw one where they had Lzzy Hale do Amy's vocals and it is a totally different take on the song, but it's amazing as well. I don't try to compare them. They are both awesome.
Back in high-school my best guy friend and me did this duet for a group of our friends in the old grocery store parking lot where we used to all hang out. He played the guitar and we jammed out and got an applause from them all. Great memory. He died from a car accident a couple months later. I always think back to that great time we had together when I hear this song. RIP Lawson. Miss u. ❤
Absolutely incredible. This is what a woman is in every way, beautiful, awesome voice, emotions that shine through and doesn't have to go to porn to be popular.
By far, the best duet EVER. This song brings back so many memories when music had meaning, feeling, and times were so much easier. I'll never stop rocking this.

I am now 34.. 20's did indeed fly by, so are the 30's.. Heartbreaking, but life isnt so bad.. Finally starting to figure stuff out, 40 doesnt scare me the way it used to.
I totally agree. Their voices sound beautiful together. For some reason I get chills when I hear this song. I love it so much. Haven't heard it in a while. I just downloaded it on my phone. It will be on repeat while I'm running my errands tomorrow.
When I was 23 my wife died in my arms.... I am almost 40 and it seems her memory will echo through time. People expect time to heal all wounds...Sometimes time feels like an illusion. Thank you Seether and Evanescence for producing music that helps people like me feel both mortal and immortal at the same time.
@kevin realize what you got before it is gone and there’s no going back. If weights the only thing that’s bothering you - 25 years is a lot of time to invest in someone and leave because they don’t look the same they did years ago. I bet you don’t either lol
Still love this song... it gave me comfort recently when I had the honor of being with my dad in the hospital for 80 days until he passed. My husband held it down and I couldn't be more thankful for his gracious understanding as I slowly fell apart watching my precious daddy fade to Heaven. This song just reminds me of those sacrifices we made as a married faithful couple. We missed each other deeply and expressed it daily. The worst is not over-- however I have my husband and he has me. He loved my dad too and we are here for one another. 🖤
I usually go for the original and acoustic versions of songs but the way Amy blended easily with the song and added strings makes this a absolute classic. Listening to this today was like saying hi to a old friend. What a great song.
When I was a teenager, I knew that this would be "the song" between me and the one I'm meant to spend my life with. Sure enough, the guy who played this on guitar and got me to sing this to him... he's the man I married.
That's awesome! I've been struggling lately and told.my wife last night I felt like a loser. She told me she will carry me for now, mad love for that miracle, that woman, my everything. Song says it all...
@@ariaq69 bro.. Get out of your rut soon enough.. Woman are turned off by insecure men and sooner or later infidelity is a sure possibility..(unless your yearning to be a cuckold for your wife) You fell, but get up and get back on that fuk'n wild horse!
The ending is the most important part of the song. Amy is literally speaking to him through the wall and he is just numb giving her nothing but at the same time feels the same way she does. This is the kiss of death for many relationships not knowing how to communicate so you stay broken because in some way it’s easier than the possibility of the feeling of rejection. Probably the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen in a music video.
+Patrick Fuchs I only got into music when I realised... well.. that, basically. That not all music is shit because not all music is pop. That will have been something like 2011 btw lol (was 14/15 back then) so you got a point. So yeah I still listen to music that is released even nowadays and I regret nothing~
The intro to this is enough to one chills. Cover song from Delores O'Riadon and the cranberries. I am convinced this song was inspired from above and has a true message for all of us for all time. You see this fellow has put his heart into this rendition and updated the lyrics just correctly. The meaning is so powerful and true. RIP Prophet ST. Delores😢❤
Amen, UA-cam comments are nothing more than a pollution of "Who's here in ?!" worthless comments. Seriously, not one person on the face of the planet cares. Are people that desperate for the self-validation a UA-cam comment upvote offers?
@Miss Wiggins I care that when I want to read comments, that is all they are, I don't care about the content of those particular comments, as nobody does. I didn't feel that difference the two really needed explained, but apparently that is not the case...
A few years back this was my theme song because I was broken, I’m not broken anymore. To all of you out there who feel broken, just hang in there, take one day at a time, there is light at the other end of the tunnel and I promise you can get there. I believe in you.
Wow all of y'alls comments are very inspirational!!! That's awesome to see that there are still humans that love our LORD and aren't afraid to share it!!!! It's Beautiful!💖
This song among others during that time are just hitting me like truck. Burst of memories… man I wish I could go back in time. All the best to you reader.
For almost 20 years now, 2:50 on always gives me the chills. The harmonies, the instruments in the background - this song will forever be one of my favorites of all time. Simply a masterpiece.
That's because shaun morgan is a top-notch musician and lyricist. The OG with just him is better because this was a song about his heartbreak when his 1st wife refused to come to the US with shaun when they got their record contract. I imagine there are ample regrets being not only talked in to allowing someone to sing on his song who would go on to back stab him, degrade him then try to backtrack when she got huge flack for it and managed to alienated nearly everyone who's ever worked with her.
I miss the early 2000s when music like this would get more love and attention. I don't see a lot of bands like this, nor music like this being mainstream. I hope the good music makes its way back again
Maria lwom Bubblegum pop acts have taken over the music industry, so little attention is given to some really amazing bands that are much more deserving of recognition. I have been lucky enough to see & befriend many local acts that are completely amazing, so much talent, so much passion for the music, deserving of recognition, & they have huge followings & treat their fans right. Many of these bands have fans that follow them to out of town gigs too. There's also the issue of music execs that want bands to change this or that, be more pop friendly, use this song bcuz "I said so..." & it doesn't match their sound, so bands don't sign those once in a lifetime contracts due to corporate bs & wanting to stay authentic & unique...They love the music more than they want the fame...which is exactly how it should be. Too many acts give in & allow the promise of fame & fortune to not only change their musical stylings, but their look & who they are on the inside. It's a complete shit show sometimes. It messes people up in horrible ways.
Not to be that guy but just for the sake of my ADHD driving me nuts and being slightly pedantic but wouldn't erosion be counted as rock wareing out/away lol 😅 (sorry just had to point this out)
+ Brandyn Beverly I agree with you 100% there... I miss listening to music that actually means something instead of how big some bitch's ass is or how sexy someone's body is. Yes, there are still some good songs out there that are composed today, but I would like to hear them more than this rubbish. I hate whenever the radio is on and all I hear is: "Twerk", "Can I fuck you or nah--" some shit like that. It's so stupid... I don't care who likes the songs, each to their own, but in my opinion, it's fucking stupid.
15 years ago I use to listen to the song. It fed my depression that spiraled out of control. After not listening to for 10 years and finding help it has really gave me a new perspective. I couldn’t listen to for along time! It has brought back so many memories! Now I’m making new memories.
For my old man. Lost him 2.5 years ago. Thank you Seether n Amy Lee for this song. Didnt think listening to it at 12 I'd be crying to it at 34 losing Dad. But the lyrics, the trailer park. This song hits home hard now
I lost my Mother to stage 4 cancer on 6/23/22. To this day, I am going through the process of grieving. I feel as though a piece of heart is missing and was punched in the gut. This song has helped me come to terms with my present reality.
2020 sucks. Who else is still listening and finds some type of peace when they hear this song? If you’re reading this you’ll get through whatever it is you’re going through.
been a long tough year for me. demons have awoke and i still dont know what to say to them. been helping others deal with it for so long, ive neglected myself. its tough
I can't even remember the last time I heard this song, 15 years maybe. Fucking hell, it's as good as I ever remember it being. Lyrically, vocally, musically epic
Shaun's raw, gravelly singing and Amy's smooth, melodic style really compliment each other and work really well together, as well as bring me back to a time before all that pop crap took over the damn mainstream! 🤘❤
So crazy, for years I have been looking for this incredible song. I'm 56 years old and I remember listening to this over and over and over again when I was younger. All I could remember was " Sither" and I googled it several times (obviously the spelling was wrong)...lol🤣. Glad I found it now, nonetheless. Its incredibly timeless.
i was recently reunited with a girl I fell in love with when I was 17.she moved away a few months later...I am now 40.this song is exactly how I felt for 23 years....and now fate has brought us back together..I love you Erin..always and forever

And no one left to fight
I wanna hold you high and steal your pain
'Cause I'm broken when I'm open
And I don't feel like I am strong enough
'Cause I'm broken when I'm lonesome
And I don't feel right when you're gone away
'Cause I'm broken when I'm open
And I don't feel like I am strong enough
'Cause I'm broken when I'm lonesome
And I don't feel right when you're gone away
'Cause I'm broken when I'm lonesome
And I don't feel right when you're gone
You've gone away
You don't feel me here anymore
You steal my pain away

They will creep up and hit right in the heart.

Feeling down in Nov 2024, needed this. Thanks Seether and Amy for just being you.

I'm so sorry for your loss man may she rest in peace🙏
My heart breaks for you bro, that her soul rest in peace now

I hope she rest in peace broo and be sur she watching in u and proud of u
@kevin realize what you got before it is gone and there’s no going back. If weights the only thing that’s bothering you - 25 years is a lot of time to invest in someone and leave because they don’t look the same they did years ago. I bet you don’t either lol
One of the only songs where I'm certain BOTH singers CARRIED a song. Best duo of voices I ever heard on a single track.
Yeah ,, this is a gem 💎
Facts perfect duo
But she does good with anyone 😜
They’re good together

Still love this song... it gave me comfort recently when I had the honor of being with my dad in the hospital for 80 days until he passed. My husband held it down and I couldn't be more thankful for his gracious understanding as I slowly fell apart watching my precious daddy fade to Heaven. This song just reminds me of those sacrifices we made as a married faithful couple. We missed each other deeply and expressed it daily. The worst is not over-- however I have my husband and he has me. He loved my dad too and we are here for one another. 🖤
20 years later. And this song still packs a punch. Awesome. 👍.

I usually go for the original and acoustic versions of songs but the way Amy blended easily with the song and added strings makes this a absolute classic. Listening to this today was like saying hi to a old friend. What a great song.
Couldn’t have said it better
I thought this was the original lol
When I was a teenager, I knew that this would be "the song" between me and the one I'm meant to spend my life with. Sure enough, the guy who played this on guitar and got me to sing this to him... he's the man I married.
Great job Candance! I hope you two last forever!

She is like an angel honestly.
You described it very well I’m kinda living such a relationship

The duet sounds good, but their relationship was toxic.
The intro to this is enough to one chills. Cover song from Delores O'Riadon and the cranberries. I am convinced this song was inspired from above and has a true message for all of us for all time.
Maria lwom I completely agree. It’s as if good music has died.
Maria lwom i totally agree!
Maria lwom nobody appreciates talent anymore....or do they even recognise what and who has talent?
Maria lwom completely agree
One of those songs that instantly brings you back and gives you the cold chills. So good.
