I definitely see how they implemented the "vs" in the game by seeing who could destroy more the 4th wall in those special episodes.
Really, this 12 episodes were one of the most brutal assault I've ever seen. The only thing missing was a broken screen scene.

Man, I feel sorry for both teams having to fight over it so much just to create this crossover. But I'm sure they know it was more than worth it.
Well, the fourth wall has been utterly demolished by this.
There are only three things I don't like. First, we didn't get another turnabout puzzle. Second, we didn't get to see who won the Miss Bezella pageant. And third, this is the last special episode.
I like to think that Franziska von Karma came in off-screen and whipped everyone until they made her the winner.
I said I like to think that, not that it happened. Besides, she's technically in the Miles Edgeworth games.
What a satisfying way to end this series. I wonder how the pageant was, though....

This was a very nice game. As a Phoenix Wright fan, I have to say the Layton universe is a bit strange (and oh boy does the plot explanation seem Laytonesque)
But I loved the characters. Layton overshadowed Phoenix almost 90% of the time...but then, this is a Layton game, no matter how you slice it. And both Layton and Luke are pretty cute~
I shall now return back to the depths of the Ace Attorney fandom...but I shall remember you and your number one apprentice, Hershel Layton. May we meet again someday on the winding game plays on youtube.

Because of this whole game, I'm not only a hardcore Ace Attorney fan: I'm also a hardcore Layton fan! Thanks, Capcom and Level-5, ya'll are the bestest! ^_~

+Extremmefan Then it got patched the game, Pheonix will now say "Take That!" due to mistake of voice actor said "Take This!". Personally, I find it quite cool before the patches.

Well, that was a hearthy farewell. Ship me in if a second "vs" game of this calibre will be released in the future.
They can make it a "x" game, so they don't have to focus on the "vs" so much.

None with the courtroom, but especially this episode contains a lot of breaking the fourth wall.
Was actually expecting a wright vs edgeworth at the witch trial court or some court room of this place but that's just me. I guess it's not a good decision befitting a "vs" cross-over title.
I was kinda expecting Espella to shout "Bezeljection!!!" :)

I really love how "business" this sounds. Love that touch of the "real world"! =D
8:24 - Funny enough, that catchphrase was used in one of your... err, what do you call it? Special moves? Sorry, not too familiar with MvC or fighting games in general but the thing is, that's what you exactly say when use that "special move" against other opponents from different franchises. Yes, I know Phoenix's appearance in MvC was earlier than this game's release but still, the developers really understood their characters so well.

As for this episode...I think it beats every other one by far in terms of fourth wall breaking.

This turned out to be much more emotional than expected and I love it.
It all ends now for the European Professor Layton vs. Ace Attorney DLC as this last of the twelve episodes in 24 weeks from april to august 30th 2014 now
it's US' turn to play the DLC now it's officially released within thier nation

huh, i guess that's true. there was more layton than wright in this game. but that's probably because phoenix gets the "final witch trial" and all. so it balances out in the end.
Yeah it did felt like Nick got the slightly shorter end of the stick in this crossover, to the point where they made his involvement purely accidental. But the witch trials definitely gave this game a bit more action in a way, and would literally not be the same without them.
This was quite a good game. All the special episodes mostly included seeing characters we already know and lampshading stuff. I think they did a really good job with this! I'm sure all those Ace Attorney references from other games were a real treat for everyone. Also, I kind of come to wonder what this special episode was like for people unfamiliar with the AA series. I watched the game while being unfamiliar to the Layton series.

And the amount of times they actually break it....it's too much even for Deadpool.
I'm sure he's absolutely crying over how he was beaten by VIDEO GAME CHARACTERS.
I guess since the US just got the game on Friday, I'll go buy a 3DS soon with dual destinies, pl vs aa and maybe tomadachi life.
With this whole fourth wall breaking, I just thought there might be an alternative universe, where it's all reality, and not just a game.

Since I earned my copy of the game long after the Japanese release date, I was able to unlock all the DLC content at once, and I see the concept art gallery is divided into several "chapters" of its own, and each chapter has several pages. Will the episodes be uploaded together or week by week, as with these episodes?

Hang on, isn't it in Duel Destinies Phoenix says that the reason he met Athena was because he was helping a friend with legal advice? Not to mention this occurs in Europe, which Britain is a part of... Could it be that Phoenix was visiting Layton? it would appear to be plausible considering how AAvsPL was released in Japan in 2012, a whole year before Duel Destinies... Or am I over thinking this?
Nah that's what I thought too. Or at least, Phoenix, on one of his attorney exchange visits, meets Athena. In any case, PLvAA is certainly canon in the ace attorney timeline to me. It's my favourite after all!

Okay, first question, can I repair my 4th wall now?
Second question, how come we never got a court DLC? We got more puzzles and funny story, but what about court gameplay? It's just that, the entire main game is a well balanced 50/50 Professor Layton/Ace Attorney experience, so you would expect to see the same in DLC but we only get more puzzles...
If there will ever be a remake for this game, I hope Capcom will add a new exclusive court case DLC.
