That’s always the risk of buying a “built engine” without knowing anything about it. We all feel your pain Tony. Have to wonder if the bearing clearances were checked when it was built. Another possibility is that the bearings and/or the crank might have rusted during the years of storage. I would pull the pan and see what the cranks and bearings look like before pulling the engine. If the crank looks ok you might be able to just roll in some new bearings.
I would bet on a restricted pickup tube. That is the one thing I have repeatedly seen that would allow a motor to not knock, but still eat itself. Could've been rust that was carried to the pan from the returning oil. Or a bad pump/not primed. Gotta prime an engine that's been sitting.
I never really comment on videos but I feel the need every time a new stay tuned comes out. Y’all are the best. Keep up the good work and don’t be afraid to open up a patreon or something of the sort. You guys deserve that more than almost anyone. That’s something I’d actually support.
Gonna be a safety guy for a minute - Tell Barbacoa to get rid of those damn hoodie strings! I about shit myself when he leaned in to a running engine and they swung past the belt. That's a quick way to lose your face. Tough break with the Ford stuff. Hopefully it's a quick and dirty fix.
Just time to build it up a lil better now. I'm a chevy guy but I've always loved those old mark viii's. Can't wait to see it finally making some big hp and big burnouts with it

With a young family i decided on an Expedition. Now I'm hoping I can negotiate a deal on the aforementioned used 1997. The perfect Hotrod Lincoln

This is why you get a "good deal" on used gearhead stuff that's been modified with expensive parts/this is why it can be worth paying more to buy everything new and build it yourself - LOL Definitely why I'll be building the turbo 4.6l w/ TFS 2v heads that I've been thinking about for a while my self, just get it right the first time with no question marks. I mean, I'm sure the builder of that engine did a fine job(building an engine isn't the hardest thing in the world, just follow directions, take it slow, and be meticulous), but who knows what happened between that thing being built and Tony firing it up in the good ol' Lincoln. I feel like I share a very similar kind of gearhead luck with Tony... it can be brutal...

@@killsalot78 This is essentially a Terminator Cobra drivetrain, meaning they are incredibly solid. These guys just rolled the dice and lost on a used block is all there is to it.
And I offered my 03 cobra short block that y’all could have built…. At least then you would have known that it was 100% ready. Good luck on the re-rebuild

No kidding. Tinnitus (ringing ears) is the worst.

This is my favorite build on the whole internet and I'm not sure why, beyond Tony and his guys just being a ton of fun.
It's so real. The concept was so cool, and you can tell how gutted Tony and the guys are at the end
The sound of the complete stop of that dyno is 👌🏻💪🏻☄️🔥
