You will be happy to learn that this video encouraged their fans to sign the petition, and it passed! We were successful in protecting the North Sea, even if it's just for now. This was filmed 500km from the North Pole. Aurora has performed in magical cathedrals, Norwegian Forests, and now the North Pole. I think that's pretty incredible.
Jacob Collier was brought to the attention of Quincy Jones back in 2013 with Jacob Collie's A cappella layered version of Stevie Wonder's ' Don't You Worry ' bout a Thing'. Quincy signed Jacob to his management company. 6 Grammy Awards later, Jacob is still going strong. Jacob Collier is a deep rabbit hole, but worth the plunge.
Damned Aron that is what i call a GREAT REACTION! For me this is the best and most needed collab this decade. It have it all. My favourite part besides the nature sound and the end note is just before the end note when we hear the enchanting Aurora and Jacob na- ni- na-ni na and especially Auroras motherly and calming facial expressions against Jacob. Her ability to make empatic contact are unbeatable . There my soul went to heaven. Thank you so much Aron.
VERY nice reaction, A-Aron. Two geniuses combine their musical IQ, and this is what happens. A masterpiece in every way. Have a great weekend! Love from Norway ♥♥♥♥♥ Btw. I guess you have understood by now that Jacob is worth looking into😉
Also, I'd like to recommend that you watch Aurora's music video for "The Seed". It's Aurora's song, and it's her favorite song to perform live because it's so powerful. Both the song and the video are incredibly impactful. And with Aurora, it's not an act. It's her becoming the music, and it's completely genuine. I'm pretty sure Aurora did almost fall off the platform. She has a tendency to lose herself completely when she performs. Aurora almost falling off the platform would be the most Aurora thing that could happen. She's quite clumsy for such a graceful creature. 😂😂😂
Yeah, the official video for The Seed is great - but to get the full impact of the song, there's no getting around her performance at the Royal Albert Hall in October this year, with Anna Lapwood on the RAH's pipe organ at full blast. If you're not a changed person after that, you're not human. There's an excellent recording of it here: ua-cam.com/video/7kGBw28HGhY/v-deo.html Unfortunately there's no video on this, but there are plenty of other audience recordings from the show.
@@art_by_accident Absolutely! But I think that the Royal Albert Hall performance is even more exciting once you hear the original song (and video) without the organ. I feel the same way about the HAIK performance with the male choir.
It's a mashup of one of his songs and one of her songs... Jacob is an absolute musical genius, forgot to mention him so far because I'm so obsessed with RAYE :) - but I know as a musician you will deeply fall in love with Jacob, his musical imagination and skills are completely next level...
To see Jacob live is transcendent. His live performance of the Queen song 'Somebody to Love' live at Lisbon is a great example. As a jazzer his cover of Lonel Richie's 'All night long' will drop your jaw to the floor'
Thanks Aaron. This is indeed a masterpiece. You must jump down his rabbit hole. He was a boy soprano chorister in England, his mother is and grandfather were both professors at the Royal Academy of Music.
What a fantastic reaction! Thank you. My two favorite Jacob Collier songs are World O World (Official Score Video) and Little Blue | @MahoganySessions. They are fantastic. His music tickles my brain in just the right way.
Jacob is a stunning artist and Aurora is our earth girl. Saw this a few months ago. I was so impressed with the effort they put into this. TX for this. Greetings from South Africa. O and the scream at the end sounds so desperate. Greetings from South Africa
I am so happy to have found your channel! Regarding the tuning of the piano in freezing temperatures, Jacob credited the piano tuner in the credits knowing how difficult and important it was. Filming took place at Svalbard, waaay up in the North Atlantic. I hope you will fall for the amazingly talented Jacob. Aurora was new to me when I first saw the video. Thanks for this!
Other way round with me, a long term Aurora fan. Like Jacob, all her pieces are different, stick to the live performances. Try her Vevo performance of "Soul with no King" or "Eyes of a Child" from her Nidarosdomen Concert.
Excellent analysis, profound personal reaction, ..... what else can I say. Liked and subbed!! Keep Going! Thank you .... P.S.whether you do more Jacob reviews or not, don't miss the chance to check him out - you will find yourself speechless over and over again (i.e. Moon River, All Night Long, all the Mahogany sessions, The full Lisbon live performance, audience choirs, Wold O World, etc., etc.
The mic on the back of the piano is probably a M/S or ORTF array in a Cinela windscreen. That would give better resonance off the soundboard. Also, that last note gets me *every* time. I've seen this dozens of times, and always, always in tears.
Hi, thanks for the fantastic reaction, awesome location. 👌 loved it when Aurora suddenly arrived poof like magic , so glad Aurora wore a pair of boots 😂 Has to be the best collaboration this century ........😊
Thanks for the reaction :) I'm pretty sure the little cracking are the natural sound of ice cracking that you would hear near an iceberg. I can't find it back but I read somewhere that they had verry little time to prepare the performance, it's insane to think about it but they are apparently pretty much jamming there, reacting to each other in real time. If you check more of Jacob you will see that doing many thing at the same time is kinda his thing ^^ he’s a bona fide genius who can do anything with a tons of instruments. A rock somewhere is a song by Jacob and the performance here is actually a medley with "The Seed" which is an old song by Aurora (the lyrics about "you cannot eat money" are part of the seed) . The main reason deep sea mining is felt as needed by a lot is because the mines for rare metal on surface is getting scarcer and scarcer while the demands keeps increasing like crazy (in big part because of the massive transition to electric cars) that's why mining companies would do anything to push deep sea mining.
Your face said it all. This is high art from two exceptional artists. This is the performance that introduced me to Jacob Collier (Collier not Colliay). Like Aurora I have not heard two similar pieces from him. He is radical, experimental and has been compared to Mozart.
Awesome reaction to this amazingly powerful and beautiful performance😍 The cry and images in the end hits me hard every time🥺💙💚 Yes, it does look like she’s falling, she has a great balance though👍❤️
P.S.: If you're not familiar with Jacob, you need to watch this, trust me: Jacob Collier, John Legend & Tori Kelly - Bridge Over Troubled Water (Live at The Greek Theatre) ua-cam.com/video/yxsfV3vGweQ/v-deo.htmlsi=ggEXCkWA7g52Y7nQ and if you want to go even deeper with an arrangement of an original for choir, insane harmonies: Jacob Collier - World O World (Official Score Video) ua-cam.com/video/DUS1wnA0SQM/v-deo.htmlsi=U7RG0lwhBiJLv7Dk Peace and love from BavaRAYEa!
Great reaction. I'm a long time environmentalist and naturalist. It's worth watching the Greenpeace Norway, video Aurora recorded, she is wearing the same outfit, in the same location. PS, the item behind the piano, is a blimp, for wind protection, that normally houses a pair of microphones, for ambient field recordings, and wind protection. It's usually quite an expensive set-up, depending on the microphones used. I forget the name of the manufacturer of the blimp. There might be more than one. ua-cam.com/video/ehRPJXI0fFI/v-deo.html
the few seconds at the end - this happened every day 24/7 in multiple instances. and the little snipped even didn't show anything related to what happened on the deep sea ground - life at the deep sea ground has it's own pace, it develops at such a slow pace and we are going to just destroy thing, we even barely (just 10%) discovered. we destroy life forms never seen before, never understood. just sad, just an embarrassment.
Jacob Coll-ee-uhr. He's British, not French. We wouldnt want someones name being mispronounced like a substitute teacher might do with Aaron. :/ He is also a once in a generation genius hence the comparisons to Mozart. This song was originally recorded with heavy Indian influences on his Djesse vol 4 album. This song and that album and also his cover of bridge over troubled waters are all nominated for Grammys. He already has six of them. Yes this collaboration is great is there are many of the others with Tori Kelly and Gracie Lawrence in Mahalia and Kimbra and many others. So are all his early songs what should I just him all by himself. "Don't you know" with Snarky Puppy shows his jazz chops on piano more. The freezing cold forced him to hold back here a bit he said. Many of us were moved and yes please everyone sign the petition.

The song Aurora is singing about not eating money is her song The Seed. It’s a very powerful song 💜

If you liked this you have to react to Little Blue by Jacob
