I painted my entry living and kitchen walls, Collingwood and the shiplap Chantilly Lace. I have a narrow hallway that I painted Balboa Mist. It looks like the same color there as Collingwood is everywhere else because of the lack of any natural light there. We love the colors!

Hi Kylie, I’m building a nice farmhouse near Vancouver BC. We get good light all day. I want a. I’ve light Color on my exterior but not white - something a bit warmer. Would you reccomend Balboa mist for your whole house exterior with Chantilly lace trim?
I tried a sample of balboa mist from ace and it looks very very pink. I want a color that looks like the balboa mist paper sample, but I’m having a difficult time finding it.

Really enjoyed your video! I'm sold on Balboa Mist for our main color! If we wanted our dining room to be a bit bold, would collingwood be the best choice to pair with balboa mist? Also, is there a nice yellow that could look decent next to balboa mist for our kitchen color?
Thanks for another video. By chance, do you realize that you create shadows on your samples when recording? The angle you stand at doesn’t show the color well.

I have Pale Oak on my walls and am now thinking of painting my cabinets Balboa Mist - island a dark gray - floors are very neutral beige tile - think this might work?
How does Alpaca by Sherwin Williams compare to Balboa Mist...both seem to have similar LRV with lavender undertones. Is one more transitional than the other...or do both work equally well with fixed elements containing more traditional, warm undertones?
What would be a good medium to darker blue for a focal wall in the same room with Balboa?

Mmmmmm, HELLOOOOOOO, I love the sounds of this! The subtle violet can play so nicely with that touch of green in Kendall Charcoal - I have no problem with this combo!

I'm using Balboa Mist for my painted floor-to-ceiling pantry cabinets. It has eastern exposure. I'm thinking Chantilly Lace will be good for trim and 6' wainscoting on a nearby wall. I just need a wall color.

It seems to be a popular color on exteriors when you google houses painted in Balboa Mist. I am trying to decide on this as well. Going back and forth with White Duck and Balboa Mist. Thought of doing trim in the same but now I know I want a pop of white for trim such as Chantilly lace.
Hi Kylie! I sampled BM Balboa Mist in my family room which faces south and gets tons of sunlight during the day. On the chip, it looks like a nice warm gray. However on my walls it looks too beige. Any other color reccomendations that goes with BM Chantilly Lace trims and millwork??

Cloud White OC-130 or Decorator's White OC-149 look great with Balboa Mist as trim. And as she said, Chantilly Lace is pretty too.

Very informative video. I painted my foyer, entrance, hallway which all leads into my formal dinning room. All of that was painted classic gray OC-23. I feel the dinning room now looks a little bland and cold. most furniture off white and red in that room. I dont want to repaint the hallways. Just add a tadd bit depth to the walls in dinning room and still keeping it flow well into the hallways since its all open concept. Do you think that Balboa mist will pair well with the classic gray and still give that depth or should i go with wind's breath or collingwood? I dont want to make a dramatic difference in color family between hallway and dinning room, just want to add some depth and gray color to the dinning room.

Great videos, I am struggling with grays, east facing living room lots of natural light. Charcoals gray sofa, natural stone fireplace. Accent chairs light blue/gray. What paint thinking balboa mist , agreeable gray, gray owl. Help
We painted two unoccupied bedrooms Balboa Mist one year before listing our house. The pinky undertones turned into blotches of pinkish purple surrounded by muddy brownish gray. It was a disaster. The previous color had been a creamy off white from SW. It was primed with Behr primer from HD.
The house was not unoccupied-our children had moved out, that’s all. The rooms were open to the rest of the house. There was only diffused light from North facing windows. Two coats, professional painter.
I was really really disappointed that the paint essentially failed.
We had already closed on our new house 400 miles away so we couldn’t take time out to get ahold of the dealer (lockdowns!) and just hired a painter who found a similar color at HD and repainted.
Just be aware that this might happen to you. We never considered that “undertones” have the potential to become the bleeding through color.
Our new house needs extensive remodeling and the nearest Benjamin Moore dealer is 45 minutes away. My husband said, “are you really going to insist on Benjamin Moore after what happened the last time?”
This result was not about the quality of BM paint or the color itself. It was about using a lavender based color in a north facing room. Northern blue light plus a lavender base equals questionable results.
I have Balboa mist throughout my home. Love this colour. Could you please please please do a review of BM AC-25 Harbor Gray? I believe it’s also known as Silver Chain.

Loved your video, I am really stuck on either balboa mist or grey owl. Leaning towards balboa mist. I will have white trim and honey colored wood floors, white kitchen cabinets. This is a new house to us , just going to give it a fresh paint job, walls ceiling and woodwork. My couch is a tan color and accent chairs paisley with the tan and grey touch of green. Can you give me any advice. Looking for a warm and inviting and updated.

Hi Kylie, how do you think Balboa mist would work with grey(river rock) kitchen cabinets? It’s a medium grey not dark or light. I also don’t want white walls but I wanted something bright(ish) that is not white. So the cupboards would contrast against it. I have open floor plan from kitchen to living room so everything will be the same color. Thank you Kylie
Hi Clea! Without seeing the River Rock colour and its undertones, it would be hard to say. HOWEVER, I've had a lot of luck with Balboa Mist as it is so soft and pretty. As long as your gray cabinets have some DEPTH to them, so you can see the layering between the grays and the UNDERTONES jibe :)

Ooooo, that is TOUGH! (as you can see, I'm going through my comments, nice to hear from you again :) I mean, without knowing your HOME or finishes, I love Edgecomb Gray for it's passive warmth. For a slightly grayer approach I would probably choose Collingwood over Balboa Mist as long as I have decent light. I hope that helps a bit!
@@KylieMInteriorsPaint we painted son’s sunny bedroom Repose Gray, we like but not love it. Maybe a little too cool. Have a gallon of Edgecomb and Collingwood which we’ll paint in two other rooms to test. Our house faces Northwest, average lighting. LOVE all your videos and blogs!! Gray is just hard. Hi Kylie! I painted my north facing living room bm antique pewter and it's time to paint the adjoining east facing dining room. How do you think Balboa mist would work? Would the pinkish hues drown out the green/gray walls of the antique pewter?
What happens to undertones when you use a different paint brand and you color match? For instance... If I use Sherwin Williams instead of Benjamin Moore?
Well, it's hit and miss...usually miss. Paint brands use different bases to start, so you never know what you'll get. It's usually CLOSE, but close is rarely good enough for me.
@@KylieMInteriorsPaint That's what I was afraid of. I was so thrilled when you had answered my question before about our church sanctuary. You had suggested Balboa Mist because of our north and south windows. And You gave me a suggestion on Collingwood for our east-west foyer. I took a couple of hours going thru Sherwin Williams sample chips along with your videos to check out some comparable stuff. Pretty frustrated because the "painter" just thinks you can paint match easily. I need to take a deep breath and maybe take a nap. And if I drank I'd have a couple about now, lol.
