0:55 - My theory on why did they put animals on coins starting 1939 is to use it for recognition of national wildlife. Some people think that the coin was a commemorative one.
i THINK IT IS MORE A NATIONALISTIC THING.
It was a national identity thing.
The PL pennies and half pennies are a far superior struck coin than the Australian struck examples.
There are varieties to look for in half pennies: 1931 dropped 1, 1933/32 overdate, 1939 roo and 1939 old design. You've mentioned the mint marks.
Yes I have videos on most of those, the overdate I will make one day. UK coinage has had more time to mature, plus easier to get better qualified people who produce higher quality product.

KC stamped
Yes the G could be a C. But never found any.
KG for Kruger Grey, the designer of the reverse. There's no KC on any of the coins. Die deterioration and wear from use in circulation is why some coins appear to have KC.
I've got a 1964 Australian penny in excellent condition .I want to sell it ,but I'm not confident, what should I do ? Please help
1964 in Uncirculated are common. They sell for $5-10.
@@Gumardee_coins_and_banknotes thanks
@Gumardee_coins_and_banknotes what about a $2 coin struck on a Hong Kong planchet ? Surely one of a kind, I've only seen a 20c piece. Not a $2 coin
@@user-bj6uw8sh4v If you are talking about 20cent on a $2 HK planchet, it also occurs on New Zealands 20 cents.
