competition is necessary, high amount of money indeed is needed, for better quality products and RND, you need to pay
its good that 3 GIANTS have clashed and this will make India get the best deal for its forces from INDIGENOUS companies... its really good, multiple competitors means GREAT thing coz that is how companies/PSUs will feel the pressure and try to deliver things on time with utmost top notch quality over and over again whenever the chance appears
I am happy if competition happens, even HAL needs competition asap otherwise they will keep delaying things

This type of competition will make india a superpower.
For over the years CONgress CON government denied TaTas defense contracts because they were not paying them “bakshis” ! This is a known fact reported in the past . Glad to see TaTa group of companies getting the contracts . Defense infrastructure in the nation would give jobs to the locals and hopefully spur research.
So basically 2 guns hain jinko trucks k upar mount kiye jayenge, ATAGS aur Dhanush. Kalyani k paas khudke Bharat 52 gun hain jo mount kiya ja sakta hain
Bharat 52 would be better for the towed gun mix Lighter than the DRDO ATAGS Dhanush also has a 52mm version now

I think TASL or tatas focused should be more on a air systems rather than, artillery. We have now enough private player's in defence for ground foces and naval forces, military aviation where we lags and can feel the huge vaccum.

yeha par 3-4 company ke same guns batai hai.. Ab inmese koi ek selecte hogi, fir baki company ke guns ka kya hoga? Unke R&D ka kya hoga?

how? both the guns should ideally fire the same artillery shells coz the guns are same, its just that the mounting platforms are different, btw we do need two vendors for this, coz both can learn more, and 2nd, relying only on one company, is sometimes bad, btw here only 2 are there, had it been split into 3 companies then it would have been a problem
its not an logistical issue, maybe the deployment differs? like the terrains where both companies' same guns will be operated, might be different thanks to the TRUCKS they are mounted on?
that makes sense. i think thats better actually, the 60:40 thing, if one company, I hope not, faces some problems, the other will be there already... well its complex, you get the point right?

I fully agree with you on supporting the L2 vendor as it helps them learn and grow and also reduce monopoly.
I also agree with you partially on the deployment of these 2 guns in different sectors, but what if they are deployed in the same sector? That would certainly cause logistical issues.
I believe my concern are of minimal concerns.
What if both companies produce the same guns? Wouldn't that serve the purpose of supporting the L2? This includes intellectual property issues. They can have rules and agreements for technology transfer in favour of L1.

I don't like this L1 L2 approch Bharat forge is best company in the field of artillery. And they are more honest than Tata defence.
Only Tata should be given the order, I don't trust kalyani, they will provide inferior quality atags to army

All three companies are worthy, experienced and capable of doing the work. Kalyani has slight edge on this.
As past experience, Adani usually get favored by goverment without any prior experience. I really hope that does not repeat here
