In terms of technology L&T is years ahead of others. They make entire systems for highest specs like nuclear reactors, radars, space technology, robots and heavy machinery. When DRDO is stuck in a project, they either call L&T, then bharat forge and then finally call Israeli aerospace industry. L&T is underappreciated but really capable company.

Well, Reliance Naval got bankrupt a few years back and very soon will loose the stake in Dassualt Reliance Aerospace Limited as Dassualt is looking to acquire 100% stake in it. Adani is in civilian market, not defense.

But another thing is maybe Central Govt don't like TATA because Govt gave tenders to develop GST and Income Tax site to Infosys not to the TCS despite of being the number one company in India in the IT Sector. Let's hope for the best. ❤️

Frankly speaking about the electronics and machine intelligence, most of the product internals of defense are packed in India made in Israel (pack in India), these so called gaints don't invest in intelligence rather make the mechanical structure and show case them as it's their innovation and complete indegenous tech
