- This is the clutch that came on the 1992 and up Phazer 2, the Mountain Light, V-Max, and the Mountain Max, I think they call this the YXR, it was the next clutch after the famous YPZ we see on the older Phazers
Pre 1992's had the YPZ , then the YXR & then came the YVX to current .
Some YXR's have buttons & some have the white teflon inserts .
I’m most familiar with the ypz, so mostly work on 84-91 Phazers, the yxr in 1992 I’ve worked on but not much, after that like the yvx I’ve never had off a sled and beyond that I have no idea. Thanks for posting that, it’s good info. What year did phazer quit using yxr?
Was the YXR on the pogo Vmax?
Mitch yes, the YXR is also on the V-Max pogo, so even more widely used than I stated, thanks for commenting about that, and I’ll edit my description
I have a 97 600xtc and this clutch looks the same??? What is the torque on the main bolt? Any help is appreciated.
Honestly I don’t know, I just use an impact wrench to put them on and don’t worry to much about it.
there is an easier way...turn and push the back sheave to slide back helix and it will open up to easily remove belt.
Definitely! I haven’t mastered that way quite yet, it seems to take a bit more hand strength but I’ll keep trying.
