A very interesting take on how it differs from the game. I never trusted that eye thing, and the fact it leads Shadow to an equivalent of the doom’s gate makes it even more suspicious. I do agree with your take on Shadow’s view of the Biolizard. “Both is good.”
I love what they did in the Space Colony Arc, they made it like a dungeon in RPG games, and I also love how they made Shadow part of some jokes without making him go out of character.
When the second chapter released prior to the game, I thought they were setting up Shadow from the present crossing paths with this past Shadow in white space, possibly in a boss battle. The past Shadow could still be trying to stop Maria's death from happening while present Shadow has since moved on and is avoiding changing the past. Obviously, that didn't end up happening.
Even if this won’t be much longer I'm hoping we at least get to see Shadow fight Metal Overlord and Mephiles. I think versions of those fights in this manga could be interesting because of the differences with Shadow in the game and manga. Cause in the game Shadow already encountered Metal Overlord and even if he didn’t remember Mephiles he still fought him. But the Shadow in the manga is from just after Maria got shot and he was ejected from the Ark. So if we do get to see Manga Shadow fight Metal Overlord and Mephiles I would like to see his reactions to them and seeing if his fights against will be harder seeing as how Manga Shadow had a harder time fighting the Biolizard here compared to the game.
This manga is really cute and quite light hearted while mainaining shadow IC (I perceived some freshness from Shadow. He was like that in SA2/Heroes/06 even though the personality isn't exacltly the same). Only three orbs when in game powers are 5? I think more will be revealed after he'll gets at least three powers. I'm actually surprised seeing Shadow on the verge of a panic attack even there.
