This is one of my favorite Lazy Man's Recipes. It came from a viewer named Tyler. Thanks Tyler. PLEASE CHECK OUT MY NEW CHANNEL: / fasinfrank2012
Here is the recipe:
LAZY MAN'S PEACH COBBLER
Ingredients:
* 4 cups peeled, sliced peaches (fresh or canned)
* 2 cups sugar, divided
* 1/2 cup water
* 8 tablespoons butter
* 1 1/2 cups self-rising flour
* 1 1/2 cups milk
* Ground cinnamon
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
(If your using a can of peaches then just drain off half the juice in the can and skip this step)Combine the peaches, 1 cup sugar, and water in a saucepan and mix well. Bring to a boil and simmer for 10 minutes. Remove from the heat.
Put the butter in a 3-quart baking dish and place in oven to melt.
Mix remaining 1 cup sugar, flour, and milk slowly to prevent clumping. Pour mixture over melted butter. Do not stir. Spoon fruit on top, gently pouring in syrup. Sprinkle top with ground cinnamon, if using. Batter will rise to top during baking.
Bake for 30 to 45 minutes.
To serve, scoop onto a plate and serve with your choice of whipped cream or vanilla ice cream

I think that’s really sweet.
I have been making this for years and love this. It was originally called "Lazy Wife Cobbler" in the 1940's and 50's. I sometimes use blackberries or apples instead of peaches. You can choose your fruit choice and tweak it the way you like it.
I use 1 stick of real butter (instead of half) so the extra soaks into the dough. I differ a little because I put the seasoning into the fruit while I cook it making sure to season the peaches first. You can use the cinnamon and just a little nutmeg (or apple pie seasoning which includes a little cloves too) or simply use cinnamon. You decide. Additionally, I sprinkle sugar with cinnamon on top as it bakes a little. If I am doing blackberry I use sugar only and none of the cinnamon nutmeg or cloves. You CAN use firmly packed brown sugar in any of the cobblers or half white, half white sugar. Again, you decide.
I sprinkle sugar (only) on top of the blackberry cobbler. I omit the cinnamon and nutmeg in the blackberry cobbler.
Add a scoop of vanilla ice cream on your warm cobbler for an extra impact. YUMMY!
This is the second time I tried this recipe and I get nothing but compliments each time... Thanks so much for posting this!!!
i did 2 cans of peaches without the juice...1 cup brown sugar...1 stick of butter or you can use margerine.. 1 cup self rising flour...1 cup of milk...cinnamon.vanilla n nutmeg sprinkled on top of peaches n it came out beautiful n delicious!!!👍

My Mom starting making this when I was a child. I'm 67 now and still make it. It's great with blackberries. I don't add all of the juice I spoon it over the cobbler when I serve it.
you are too kind. I totally respect your knowledge of cooking. I really thing this recipe is one of my favorite lazy man recipes. I love the fact that this version absorbs the peach syrup into all of the crust, unlike regular cobblers.
The syrupiness....I love it! The peach cobbler looks delicious.
This looks sooooo good!! Peach cobbler is my favorite dessert.
Loved it!! This is so far my best recipe for peach cobbler, and that is my favorite dessert. You win that one. Good dad 2
I'd like to see you bring back more Lazy Man Series. I like this one for sure. Thanks Jack!

I was at the Anaheim Home & Garden show doing cooking seminars for the public and I made this cobbler 4 times over the weekend. They begged me for the recipe and ate every last sample I handed out. It was a HUGE hit!!!

Fresh peaches, that's what I'm talkin about. Thank you for the recipe, I'm going to be making this time and time again as a lazy man.

Josh Farmer Idiots Delight, best and easiest cobbler ever.
Great way to make a cobbler. I learned this one about 49 years ago from my favorite mother-in-law, and use any number of fruits and berries to include the peaches, black berries, rasp berries, pineapple, etc. Always turns out good with no left overs.

Jack, thanks for sharing. I saw another example of this a while ago, but couldn't find it again. I recently saw yours, and it was straight forward. I ended up using some buttermilk and all purpose flour with added baking powder, cane sugar, and sea salt. Looks good in the oven and I'm looking forward to the results. Thanks again.

LEEROY JENKINS he added ice cream in the video, 💡. Did you watch it all?
You nailed it! I'm making this now.
Wow 👏 😮, I can't wait to try yummy 😋
Well you have inspired me - let me tell you how I tweaked around the basic recipe- used canned peaches, left part of the juices on, next the 1 c brown sugar, didn't have bisquik so Pioneer brand also 1 c, then instead of regulat milk used 1/2 c powdered milk from my last commodity box, one of the few blessings of age, I receive a commodity box from my senior center monthly. Few things I can't use go to others that are in need, now top it? I packet of crushed cinnamon Graham crackers. Over it all I drizzle 1 stick of melted butter, another item from monthly box. Bake at 350 until it looks all nicely golden, maybe a half hour? And it tastes real fine to me! I used my square 9 inch Pyrex ( well actually Anchor Hocking- i live zbout 40miles from Lancaster where they are made) makes it nice and thick that way,
I just made this AND your Lazy mans enchilada casserole… YUM!!!! Thanks!
Nice job Jack. Looks really good. Thanks
Yummm I’m cooking this right now! 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
I made it and it was sooo good!!!! Will definitely make it again!
This is what I've been looking for Yes, you have that right about buying your peaches at the Farmers market, the fruit & veggies are awesome, as with the supermarkets small & pricey. This is my husbands fav. Thank for sharing:) :) :) :) :)
Love it!
Wooow that looks Amazing!
Instead of just peaches try tuning it up a notch by making it multi-fruit. I used peaches, strawberries, and apples. Damn!
A can of fruit cocktail works well, too.
Oh, that look so good ,i want to bake one tomorrow , thank Jack.
Step 1: Add Mayonaise
This also answered my question as well. Thanks Jack!
So easy and delicious. I just guesstimated the measurements and it still came out fine. Goes very well with Bird's custard I think.
Thank you Jack mine turned out awesome. I did tweak it a lil bit. LOL. Love your show and please keep up the awesome work.

Thank you for your video! Its was my first time ever experimenting with a cobbler before...the kids ate it so obviously i did something right...Lol again thanks...God Bless!!!
Jack I tried your cobbler today! And it was delicious. I used apples. My friend gave me a bunch of different types of apples. And so I peeled them Court in like a peach and just use them instead. And I had a few dried plums and I threw them in there too! Nom nom
Just served this. So ez...so good!
Thank you very nice and easy, so goooooooood.
Jack I made this recipe this past Saturday. I didn't use fresh peaches...I used the canned peach cobbler from Dollar Tree. Which made it even more lazier. I was unable take a pic of it..it came out amazing in looks as well as taste. I had it cooling on the counter in the kitchen and when I came down stairs to check on it...it was only a corner left! They ate it!!!! I am gonna try using apples this time.
I love your recipe but most of all I really really love your voice keep it up you're doing a great job lol lol
