    (This is going to be a little bit lengthy, bear with me here)
    Vas is a character I have been learning recently: the dodge cancel trick is harder than it looks esp if done in rapid successions, and imo is a high risk, high reward style: somewhat in-line with Vas as a character. He is essentially MH's Greatsword in Relink.
    One thing to consider is that a whiff of a L-dodge will end up essentially eating away all the time saved from successful dodges (since you do 1 hit smaller hit if you ended with in charge stance, then you can L-dodge again for your proper combo). If you screwed up really bad and ended up doing the roar, then its essentially a loss of 5 seconds of uptime. For some bosses, you may even have missed your window to attack.
    Thus I would recommend people to not be afraid to just do regular LLHHs until they feel confident with dodge cancel, especially during SBA chains: you may end up just losing a lot of damage over a 3 second reduction to your combo (you can see Enel also whiffing a few times as great as he is). Dodge cancel may be the optimal way to play, but if you end up just rolling left and right in front of a boss and never dealing any damage, you might as well have just... eat that loss in dps. I have been practicing for a few days and still screw up now and then (learning how to recover from a screw up is also kind of important, remember to just do another L-dodge to go back to combo B).
    Some things not mentioned/is only slightly touched upon in the video is that due to damage cap (should be around 1.6mil), it is very easy to cap 3 of the 4 hits. What this means is that he can be oddly flexible with sigil choices. Due to him having built in Stout Heart, Steel Nerves is a great secondary to have somewhere. A combination of Steel Nerves, Potion Hoarder, Aegis along with his gauge's defense buff and Stout Heart's passive reduction can make him really tanky. Guts is also a nice pick since losing a combo due to death is a big dps loss. If you are using Stamina, get into the habit of potting up while charging your combo.
    His finishers also act as a parry with what I consider to be a rather generous window.
    Working firm stance into his build along with a rank 4 firm stance on his weapon (so rank 20 = 80%) can give him push immunity due to having passive 20% push back resist. This will prevent overdrive knockback from interrupting your combo, and opens up some window for damaging such as with Furycane's first tornado phase.
    Still do LLHH during link time. Sadly, unlike Ghanda and Charlotta, Vas' linked time is a bit on the mediocre side.
    By itself his SBA is a dps loss. Imo I would use it as a CC/only if it can be chained by others (
    For bosses with adds such as Pyet-A Firefly (which was skipped in the video) or baha crystals, you may find it more beneficial to just L-dodge into a held charge, The charge will still do 1.6mil on contact.
    There are videos of people doing a perma undying build out there. It may be frowned upon on the unofficial GBF discord, but it is still a tool available in the box. Your dps will not be great, but it is still an option.
    Vas is a pretty fun character to play, would def recommend.

    wouldn't taking one lucky charge better than taking two critical hit rate sigils? since all your damage is charges attack anyway?

    • @carlovergts02
      @carlovergts02 6 місяців тому +3

      Lucky charge makes critical hit rate absolutely useless, you are absolutely right. Just having ONE Lucky charge with a base 50% crit rate makes every charge attack hit crit. I hope your comment gets seen cause this is important. The only advantage to having the crit rate would be to make the light attacks crit as well, but if you are mainly doing charges anyway, it doesn't matter, you could save that extra slot for something like steel nerves or firm stance.

    • @EnelXC
      @EnelXC  6 місяців тому

      the thing is lucky charge is a red trait while critical hit rate is a white trait, the main reason I'm running the critical hit rate ups is because you can get an additional red trait out of it since sigils can't have two of the same color.
      That said as an inbue effect you can get a lot of value out of it, I just didn't have a great writestone with it.

    Ghandagoza can do over 2 milllion (not sup dmg into account, with all stuff dmg cap, war elemental and specific Ghanda sigil) with Rage Fist (100% Eternal Rage), also Io can do some crazy dmg as well, either theses 2 are the heaviest hitter. Not gonna even mention Aerial Rackam...

    I'm starting to doubt if running Supplementary Damage, especially fewer than 3 maxed out ones, is worth it with Vaseraga.
    That's 3 slots that you can use for a lot of other really useful traits, like more Quick Charge, Untouchable, Steel Nerves, or even Linked Together.
    Running 2 Supps on other characters is good enough because of how fast they hit, but missing a proc one in four times with Vaseraga is a bummer, especially with how you occasionally mistime or are forced to stop attacking anyway because of the enemy moving or doing their scripted ult.
    Maybe building a stun team is better because more link time means more charged attacks and more survivability? I'll have to try that out.

  • @VernonFoxx
    @VernonFoxx 6 місяців тому +2

    Lucky Charge? One Lucky Charge would max or come close for his only real source of damage and make space for another Quick Charge, wouldn't it?

    • @EnelXC
      @EnelXC  6 місяців тому

      Yeah this is definitely a decent option to have or consider but it's also an orange sigil slot so may be best to get it as a weapon trait since you can get 30% with only a level 6 there

    • @Poptienza03
      @Poptienza03 6 місяців тому

    • @EnelXC
      @EnelXC  6 місяців тому

      well what I mean is you can get more damage based orange sigil traits by not running it since sigils can only have one orange trait each. Crit up counts as a white trait so i can get both stamina and tyranny out of it. An imbue trait is the best bet for it if you have a good writestone for that. @@Poptienza03

    My Vaseraga is built around Undying uptime, so running Ebony Poise in that case is a must.
    Also, I will need to test with the 2nd combo, but the strongest charge attack is already hitting the cap without adding any additional damage sigils. I feel I get more benefit from putting overdrive assassin.
